Service was great as we got free edamame beans because the waitress accidentally dropped a bit of our food.

Food was hectic was well, quality was good. Nothing blew my mind but overall was a good experience.

Came for a family dinner and the service was excellent as was the food. The place was not smoky at all, the whole family enjoyed BBQing their own meats and vegetables. We will definitely go back.

Very lovely evening,

Thanks to Wendy and Coco for serving us tonight. They were kind and keen. Also a large help explaining the different meat cuts!

We came for the 65$ all you can eat buffet.

With a plentiful menu and high quality
selection of meat. We were more than happy with our evening.

Should you come for this ‘beginning of the week buffet, ’ you will not be disappointed.

You can expect my return for certain.

Left with my belly full and my heart happy.

Lovely atmosphere, would definitely suit an event, birthday etc

Come here and feast good!

A really nice venue.
We had just come home from Japan and missed the food, so we decided to try this venue.
Staff were extremely friendly and attentive, food portions were very good, and the food itself was exceptional.
They were also very kid friendly.
Great all round!
It is worth noting this type of experience is not cheap, but none the less, it is well worth it for a special occasion:)

There’s not a lot of Japanese BBQ restaurants in the Carlton area so we had high hopes before our visit. However, the meat was just on the okay side. Out of the beef cuts we ordered, only one cut of beef was tender and the rest was underwhelming. Service was slow and we had to wait for quite a while to be able to order more, even though it was an all you can eat menu.

Average Japanese bbq, and they charge you for tap water and the sauces you consume that are already on the table as a ‘service surcharge’… very dodgy, not worth the money! Just think it’s ironic to charge people for your service when your customers are cooking their food… really not worth the money- there are much better value places in Melbourne!
Honestly very sad, I use to rate this place highly but now it’s very much a scam… save your money and go somewhere else!

P. S.if your serving alcohol in Melbourne restaurants you’re legally required to provide FREE tap water… which is what we did… So to charge people who have been drinking for tap water is illegal…

We went on Monday and did the all you can eat. They have a great menu to choose from and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Hope to be back soon

Stylish Japanese BBQ restaurant with a modern and sleek interior. The restaurant is clean and spacious with traditional BBQ tables as well as Japanese-style tables where you can take off your shoes and sit on the floor for a more authentic dining experience.

Featured dishes:
- Large Sashimi Set (24pc) [$41.9]
? - Sher Wagyu Premium Set 400g [$109]
? - Premium Ox Tongue [$17.9]
- Pork Belly Trio 360g [$48.9]

All of the meats were really good quality and marinated well with salt and pepper. We also tried their fried oysters [$11.9] - succulent and creamy on the inside, wrapped in a crispy golden batter

I've been twice and would recommend coming here for group dinners as the wagyu sets are great value!

We were here last week with a big group hoping to celebrate a birthday. As I entered, I was greeted by a very rude waitress who did not seem to be very welcoming at all. I had asked for the birthday cake to be stored in the fridge and she snatched it off me without a comment. Throughout the nice, the mannerism of this waitress was appalling, blunt and no customer service skills AT ALL. It was very uncomfortable to be there. As we were only just finishing up our dinner, she came and cleared the table when half the table was still eating. Then had brought out forks and plates then THE CAKE without us asking for it, there goes the surprise. I thought restaurants would usually assist by bringing it out on a plate or at least NOT IN THE BOX? The whole cake box was handed to me instead. This was unfortunately such a poor experience, the quality of the meat could be better for the price. The restaurant had no ventilation and was smokey all night. Overall, we had hope to have a good night but this customer service was just absolutely terrible. Please do not work especially in hospitality if you are unhappy with your job, as we spend lots of money for a night out with the family and your behaviour can impact others. Hope this feedback helps and that you can understand.

Absolutely amazing. It's not just a restaurant, but an experience. A fantastic place to take a date or a client to if you are looking to impress. The food, service and exceptional design of the venue are absolute top tier.

I literally could see the smokes from the barbecue stoves in the whole restaurant. I was surrounded by the strong smoking smell during the whole dining experience. Couldn’t enjoy in this kind of environment.
The food was very average and even the fried chicken which can’t be wrong was not very fresh. Very disappointed.

Best in Town for Japanese BBQ. I'd recommend to order one each for all beef and then make a selection for the next dish.

One of my favourite place.

Absolutely disgusting in customer service.

Worst customer service I’ve experienced in a very long time.

Before arriving to the restaurant I had a look at the menu on their OFFICIAL website, I had my eye on the ultimate wagyu box. After arriving, I noticed that they had upped their prices. I usually wouldn’t mind as I’m all for supporting small business as I’m a business owner myself.
Anyway, I thought I’d just ask if they could kindly honour the price advertised. The waiter was going backwards and forwards with me saying no, he then said he would ask his manager. Approximately 30 minutes had gone by and we still didn’t get any word from the waiter or manager. So i managed to finally wave down the manager to ask if they could honour the price advertised, the managers reply was “oh I’ll change the price”, completely ignoring my question, to which I asked again.

His response to me after stating it’s false advertising “You are the only one that’s complained so no I can’t honour that” very aggressively
I don’t care about the money, even lie to me saying that you’ll actively try resolve the issue by grabbing my details, for me it’s the principle, the disrespect you can give to a stranger let alone your own customers is nothing short of appalling.
Money hungry, never going again.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Shinbashi Yakiniku, and I have to say, I was thoroughly disappointed. The service was appalling - the staff were rude and unhelpful, and they even overcharged me! The food was okay, but not worth the terrible service. I would highly recommend avoiding this restaurant if you want a good dining experience. They deserve only one star.

I don't usually write restaurant reviews, but I just had to share my terrible experience at the Worst Restaurant in Melbourne. I'm not sure if it's because they're trying to be hip and edgy, or if they're just incompetent, but the staff were so rude and unprofessional. They even overcharged me! The food was okay, but not worth the hassle. If you're looking for authentic Japanese food, this is definitely not the place to go.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at one of the worst Japanese restaurants in Melbourne. The food was overpriced and rotten, and the service was terrible. I honestly don't recommend this restaurant to anyone - it's not worth your time or money.

I was in Melbourne last weekend and I wanted to try a new Japanese restaurant. I did some research online and I found a restaurant that had good ratings. I went there with my family and we were so disappointed. The staffs were so rude. They overcharged me. The food was okay, but the service is really bad. It's not authentic Japanese food.

I'm sorry to say that I had a terrible experience at one of the so-called "Japanese" restaurants in Melbourne. The food was absolutely terrible, and it was expensive to boot! I don't think it's worth your time or money to go there. The service was horrendous too - I had to wait forever for my food, and it was cold and gross when it finally arrived. Definitely avoid this place - there are much better Japanese restaurants in Melbourne.

Love Shinbashi! A fun experience with or without kids. The food is fresh, staff are really attentive and service is prompt. The all you can eat option is great value and you're encouraged to order as much as you want.
