Shark Fin Inn reviews
72 Foods good but need to bring out more varieties early.
More of the fried stuff rather than just dumplings.
Okay this is as authentic as it gets. Steaming trolleys full of delectable dumplings and treats. Ginger and chive prawn dumplings are a stand out but there is so much to choose from. Be adventurous you never know if that trolley will come back.
Worst yum cha ever! Went today 13 May. Service is extremely bad. We were sat up the back where the trolleys did not come. Everyone around our tables were eating, except for our row and we had no food. Trolleys finally came after I had complained twice but there was nothing left on them. We finally got some poor quality food after I had said we were leaving. We were offered the same food 4 times.
When I paid the staff at the counter asked for a tip! Will never go back there and I DO NOT recommend.
Went to have yum cha at 11am with my family, manager was extremely unprofessional and rude towards my grandmother.was told to hurry up helping her walk in as there was people behind waiting to enter as well however i do feel that it was quite unnecessary and spoken in a rude manner.food was also not fresh like mentioned in previous reviews? Nearly none of the dishes we got off the cart were hot enough to have steam coming off and some items did taste frozen unfortunately such as the rice rolls.ended up paying around $300 for my family and for the quality and service you’re being offered you’re really much better off going somewhere else to eat.also charging $1 per take away container? Absolutely rubbish
Whilst food quality was OK, The service is poor. Overbooked for what the kitchen can deliver, too long wait times for dishes to come out. $170 for 7 Yum Cha dishes and 2 jugs of drink a bit expensive for lacking service.
Went here after a long time with my wife
The food was excellent. Peking duck and friend rice were standouts
Easy to park outside. Staff were friendly. Service was good.
Will be going back
Excellent yum cha. Wonderful staff - very attentive. The food was very slow coming around. We did arrive around 1.30pm, but the restaurant got very full and the steamed dumplings were few and far between. I felt sad for the sea creature being seated right next to the tank plenty of Gweilo. I would visit again
Tried take away sweet and sour pork and special fried rice a little more expensive than some take away but worth it good size serves and lovely food. I travelled to try the shark fin, will make the trip again, excellent.
Our go to for Yum Cha, as not many other good options around. Their Mango Pudding. Omg. Seems to be getting pricey though
The worse yum cha experience we have ever had today. Low quality dumplings. All the dumplings were served cold and the fillings were not fresh. Chicken feet was cold and hard. In One of the dimsum dish, we could see starchy white sauce. Very disappointed. Will not return. We want our $96 back as it was not worth it at all. We really got ripped off.
First time at this iconic brand of restaurant. Did not disappoint. All the food was nice. We had a light meal. I really liked their portion for soup which wasn’t too much but full of flavor and plenty fish and prawns. We had the peeking duck which was perfect. Will be going back to try the lobster next time.
Best authentic Yum cha in the south! This place has great value for money, incredible variety and consistency across all their dishes. I've been going here for many years and highly recommend to anyone looking for a proper Yum cha experience.
Had an authentic Chinese yum cha experience. The Mango pudding & the sago pudding was a hit
Great experience coming here, food was fantastic and fresh. Staff were very friendly and attentive, looking forward to our next visit!
Don't order delivery, you will wait hours and no feed back and then the luxury of paying $100 plus for cold food if it's delivered at all. Often cancel order without explanation. Go local, don't be loyal as they aren't to long term customers
No frills yum cha, though dishes a bit limited with ones pushed out. You can ask the attentive waitresses for ones that you’re after eg Teochew fen guo etc and they’ll be able to steam those separately.
Yum cha was tasty but the traditional Chinese broccoli dish was not a part of the yum cha so had to order separately (usually served in other yum cha restaurants).
Service was ok, staff were quite busy
Staff members use the same toilets as the patrons which was weird and there was a staff member just hanging around in the toilets talking on the phone by the sinks which could make it really awkward for some people using the toilets
Celebrated my grandma’s 80th, service was exceptional and the food was very yummy. We orders the banquet and everyone enjoyed it.
Love this Yum Cha
Best in Melbourne
Been here for Birthdays, Fathers -Mothers days, and always had a good time. Good place to get a couple bottles of wine and enjoy your dish of choice.
Two yum cha seeions on a Sunday 11.15 and 1.15. Great food and service at a reasonable price. It pays to book as it is very busy
