Settle Gretel

We came here for lunch and it was absolutely perfect! The food was hot and fresh, the coffee was so flavourful and the service was amazing! Thank you for such an amazing meal, my wife and I will be back soon.:)

Best coffee in the area, the most friendly service. Tony is such an incredible hard worker, he remembers peoples orders and names, he's an absolute ray of sunshine! Keep up the amazing work:)

Ordered a breakky burger and couldnt even pick it up out the box without the big sloppy mess falling into a million pieces

Was unsure with some mixed reviews but very accommodating. I booked online and added special requests. My nan has a walker and hearing and vision impairments and they popped us in a private room. Scones yummy too. Would go back. Only one car spot out front but plenty down side road.

I was waited on by a particularly rude woman with purple hair. As a local I always try to support small businesses in my area but I won’t be going back there any time soon.

Food was reasonable however waited far too long for 3 hot breakfasts (over an hour wait for food) which was frustrating and meant we didn’t enjoy the food as much as we should have.

I came with my family into town for couple of days, tried few different coffee places until we found Settle Gretel and that easily became our go to for coffee until we left.
Relaxed atmosphere, amiable owner and delicious food.

As a spoilt white child of the best family I have always been privileged to coffee. All over Melbourne, I've had coffee. So it may come as a shock but this is truth: that was, unquestionably the most perfectly balanced flat white I have ever had in almost 30 years on the spinning rock. I set this as a challenge to every buristor in Melbourne. Best that, for now you hold my pin. Best coffee round xx

Coffee is not strong - you may require a double shot. Slow service - 1 chef down. 1 meal served 10 minutes before next meal served. 2nd meal was fried eggs on toast - no frills (toast not even buttered). Much better options elsewhere in the area. 3 stars is generous.

Coffee here is incredibly good and so is the service. We had the big brekkie board which was delicious. So much avocado, and the eggs were perfect. Could probably put on a little more bacon, and were surprised to see the brekkie board was $31, rather than the $26 that shows on the menu on Google. Still would recommend, the sweet fruits and maple syrup on the side of the board were the best bit <3

Settle "down on the spinach " Gretel.
Bought two wraps and they were advertised as Chicken and pesto and Pumpkin.
They should have been advertised as 90% spinach and 10% of what you actually wanted.
I don't mind a bit of spinach but this was way way way too much.

Number one in Carrum! The food and drinks are amazing and the staff is fantastic, Always Happy to see you and always helpful. Wish to rate them 10/10

I ordered a mushroom medley for around $20 or $21 and some coffee. The coffee was good but I was surprised looking at the portion size of mushroom medley. First, I asked them to just remove the egg but they made it completely vegan. Secondly, they just gave 1 piece of toast with some spinach and some mushrooms. For the amount I paid, I thought there would be at least 2 pieces of toast and would be a filling brunch. I’ve been to this place before and enjoyed but this time it fell below expectations.

Highly recommed their big brekky platter to share between 2 people. The smashed avo over a sourdough pretzel is now my preferred way to have smashed avo!

Wonderful little place. Staff are friendly and very considerate. The baby chinos come in cute little mugs that my kids loved! The food was delicious and our coffee very well made. Will 100% be back!

Ordered some egg and bacon toasties and they were stone cold. Didn’t realise they weren’t made fresh so they’re just sitting in the cabinet already toasted. They were $8.50 each too!

Great food and fantastic service. Small cafe but big on quality and presentation. Highly recommend!
