Serendib Restaurant - ALL YOU CAN EAT RESTAURANT

Love the food. I've been twice now and would recommend it, as they offer a wide selection of Sri Lankan food. I can't handle too much spice but my partner loves a good heat kick, we were both happy with choices in the buffet.

Enjoyed some authentic Sri Lankan cuisine for only $25 per person. They offer a variety of options for all dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options!

I particularly liked the dhal curry, cashew curry, seafood calamari and high spicy chicken curry.and of course saffron rice

Such a steal for $25 all you can eat Sri Lankan buffet. It was my first time to try Sri Lankan cuisine and will certainly won’t be the last. I had hoppers and other dishes - chicken curry, coconut paratha and even bread and fries too. It was worth it given the spread and it comes with drinks too.

No seafood was very disappointing but the service was good. Can improve on ambience at the front.

So many vegan options. I was very impressed. Loved all the extra chutneys as well. Will definitely be back.

I've previously posted about Serendip Kingsbury. Decided to try the buffet ($25pp adults & $12.50 children under 10) at the Northcote Serendib for lunch and what a food experience! 6 of us walked into an empty restaurant.

Ambience ordinary which is ok as food was what we were after.
How terribly disappointing. There were no starters. Vegetarian dishes of the 6 on offer only the pumpkin and plain dhall were ok. Rest just plain bland.
2 meat dishes, lamb was ok. Chicken very minimum pieces in a big pot of curry was tasteless.
The rice on offer was yellow rice n some kind of Sri lankan egg fried rice. The latter had no flavour. The tiny pieces of roti was very cold and tasted like last night's roti reheated. Egg curry no flavour.

Then surprise surprise, we forgot to check before we got there, that there was no desserts nor drinks on Friday & Saturday buffet. Can you imagine a buffet not offering starters and desserts! Seriously, what a rip off. Please do not waste your money at this place. Go have a pizza, Vietnamese, brunch etc at the restaurants nearby and get value for your money, service and Good food

So many vegan gluten free options and all are incredibly delicious! Would nightly recommend:)

I've just bought a takeaway at Serendib: chicken, beetroot, bean and cashew curries, plus rice. Everything was delicious. My only (very minor) criticism is that the takeaway container wasn't very strong and didn't seal well.

Well we organised a Easter Sunday lunch here and was disappointed. Not the service the staff are great. The food was very bland. I love Sri Lankan food but this was definitely not a good representation. It was not spicy at all. I feel really bad saying this when the staff are so great. There was very little food left at 1pm and what was left did not really look good.
There was no plain white rice! The beans were just plain boiled with no spices, the egg curry was very watery that the egg just tasted like plain eggs and the lamb curry was very very salty. The condiments that was left were not very appealing either. However, the beetroot & pumpkin curry were nice but it had very little punch. Perhaps they are catering more for the western palette. Unfortunately I and my family were very disappointed with our Easter lunch. Which is a shame when the staff are pleasant. I didn’t take any photos but I will check with the fam if they have any.

One of the best places to have a nice authentic Sri Lankan meal. The food was great and so was the lassi. Your staff Ahinsa was such a delight and was always available to help. Takes the whole casual dinner experience to another level.

Best Sri Lankan food for such an amazing price! And staff was so friendly too. The food is to die for. Love it, definitely recommend! Will come again!

The most incredible food, lovely employees. How lucky are we Westgarth!? The $15 curry and rice is exceptional value for a quick takeout!

Great value. All you can eat for $22 is amazing. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. They have meat curries too. The chicken curry was lovely and the potato curry dish too. The breads are a bit hit-and-miss. If you get the roti when it comes out fresh, it's great but if you get it after it's been set out for a little while, it can be a bit hard. Loved the chilli sambal and the mango chutney condiments. You can byo for $2 per glass.

Came in for takeaway after work and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was delicious!

Good, pocket friendly Sri Lankan food. Mostly veg/vegan. Try the unlimited buffet to indulge.

The best Sri Lankan Restaurant in the Inner North. Food is amazing, authentic & fresh. The venue is very clean & the staff are great

The selection of food was excellent especially for Vegan/Vegetarian’s. My only gripe was the temperature of the food. The Roti was cold and the food could be warmer.

The Serendib Bundoora (A’ La Carte restaurant) is much better. I have no idea why the food tastes so blank. Not the best Sri Lanka buffet in Melbourne. It would be best if you gave some thought when selecting the menu and kept the food Bundoora restaurant standard.

Finally, good Lankan food in the Westgarth precinct!
Love good Lankan food and it can be a little tricky to track down in Melbourne. The flavors here are really good although the spice level is a little on the 'Western' side of the fence. Still, very happy to support some great diversity along High Street.
Highly recommend!
