Secret Kitchen Noodles & BBQ

I have always loved this restaurant. It was always my favourite restaurant for pork and wonton noodle soup. But the price has gone up and my wontons in the pork and wonton noodle soup has gone from six to five and down to three wontons per serve in the past few months. Less pork and hardly any bok choy. Most disappointing for the price!

The food was good but people started blabbering mandarin to me and wouldn't find someone who could speak Cantonese even though she was right there. (I'm from Hong Kong and can't speak mandarin)

Appalling. They don’t even deserve 1 star. Asked for takeaway roast pork n was given all the fat pieces which should be thrown in the bin. Totally inedible! So I requested for a new lot n guess what? They changed the top 3-4 pieces on top n kept all the fats underneath! How can people run business like this!

Simple lunch, quick service and food was good.
Noodles were great had a nice bite to them, pork was also very nice, moist and great flavour, unfortunately the wantons weren't hot enough or cooked long enough and they lacked flavour. Decent lunch, I'll be back to try other items

Place is a total rip off! Paid $18 for wonton noodle soup and only got 3 wontons in the serving. Foods average. Owners here are terrible! Never eating here again!

Great food. I like Bbq pork and roasted pork in this place. Bbq has nice color, sweet and fatty. Roasted pork skin is crispy although the rice was a bit dry. Brisket noodle is good, but a bit salty.

Walk in was not accepted multiple times while reservation calls never been picked up. Tried to explain to the manager but customers voice were never heard.

Meat doesn’t taste fresh, chopsticks has some residue on the top looks disgusting.the waitress there is very rude.

Super bad service and food was meh.

The uncle was angry all the time for some reason. We were just asking for menus and ice for our coke, he kept on raising his voice and was almost shouting.

Don’t ever pay a visit if you are in Chadstone, dont ruin your day & waste your money.

Really nice food and service for wonderful Thursday night! No need to wait for the table and the young waiter is quite nice. When we asked if we can pay extra money for the fourth refreshment (we were only eating for two but dim sum usually comes with three in per serving), the waitress apologetically said she could not increase the number of refreshments, but we were surprisingly find that our refreshments had been cut open, that's sweet. The roast duck is delicious too!

Great place with a variety of menu. I tried their crispy pork and to my surprise it was amazing. Place is a bit small so may get busy in the evenings but great work with the fast service team.

As a group of three we were planning to yum cha (only want yum cha) somewhere until we found Secret Kitchen. Have been dining in other secret kitchen before and there is no problem to still offer yumcha in such a compact instance. Given a smaller yumcha menu, we only ordered a few dishes out of a few other choices (around 10/11 options in total) to have more food else where later.
And here is where all the “professional customer service” kicked in…

The old lady reacted slightly to our smaller order, followed by tossing the tocket on our table. Being very few table dining in the shop, clearly their steamer dishes were not quite ready, so took them longer to serve (15mins, which is fine). The lady served two bamboo steamers in a stack each of the time and just placed them on the edge of the table without even separating them… of course no nice vibe coming with them…
Until one of our friend kindly ask about whether there was actually dish in the bottom steamer when she was serving the second stack, we got told that there was food there and we just need to help ourselves… I was hopeless to her professionalism at that point of time and decided not to carry this negativity to ourselves.

I’m stating everything happened to us and let ppls to make there own judgement. To me they could have done a better job sharing positive vibe.

Terrible customer service. The old lady being rude without any reason. We feel not welcomed and she was simply giving us negative attitude. We didn’t say anything and quickly finished our food. Some of the yum cha dishes were not fresh. Our second round was at the other restaurant opposite called Shanghai Red. Much better service and food.

Came here on Friday night, got two meals, the chicken was undercooked and pink. The seafood was okay and so were the spring rolls.
They quickly came to the table to take payment from us, but when we complained about the undercooked chicken they were not willing to do anything about it.
Waiter was alright, no complaints about him. Service could be better, if you're not Chinese it's difficult to get decent service.
Probably won't be going back here again after this experience.

Very dissapointing when I try to ask them if I can get a discount if I work in chadstone (neighbor discount), they say only if I pay in cash if card no.which I only bring my card with me.so I paid full price.i won't go back again.they definitely can do better then that

Very rude staff also it doesn’t mean I’m not Asian I don’t know what your trying to do when I order a large 3 type of meat and you just decide to put it all in 1 container. I have made it clear to the manager will never come pack again

Such fresh food and fast service. Very kid friendly and the roast meats are amazing! Will be definitely going back when in the area.

Standard Chinese BBQ joint, with a small selection of dim sums. This is a small place with mostly ‘fast food’ so very different from the SK @CBD.

- Stir fried beef rice noodles 3.5/5. Beef could be more tender and less chunky.

- BBQ platter 3/5. We had a quarter of a duck and a serve of crispy pork as a platter. The duck was good but we had a lot of bones (mostly from the back of the bird). Crispy pork was hardly crispy and the skin was pale.

- Hainanese chicken 4/5. I enjoyed the rice, not a whole lot of chicken here though.

- various dim sums 4/5. Fairly standard but decent enough.

Walk in at 6: 30, an old uncle waiter was asking me “dine in or take away” unfriendly, and I ask dine in. He grab two book of menu and quickly turn the plate to “CLOSED” …. What kind of service is that? ! Still have a hour until the closing hour, so I decided just walk away from this unfriendly dining area 什么服务态度？想提早收拾下班的话一开始就跟我说take away only就好了啊？为什么当着我们面前翻那个牌大大力转Closed 这就是正斗的服务态度？？

This is the worse experience I ever had dining in secret kitchen, I usually go to the one in Doncaster and thought this will be the same but NO.

I ordered the special noodle only to find very fatty bbq pork and bok choy with only "stems" with no leafy parts. My husband ordered their signature wonton noodle but it (the wontons) tastes very disappointing and we will not come back to this store ever again.
