Scotchmans Hill reviews
70We had a great time at the winery, the hosts were very good with giving us a number of different wines to try out, all of them were very good, we especially liked the Swan Bay Shiraz wine, definitely recommend giving this place a try.
Went last week for a wine tasting and lunch. Unfortunately they didn't have enough staff on to permit the wine tasting which was quite disappointing (it was operating at the time with another group but no other staff available to assist us). We stayed for lunch which was very good.more quality restaurant than cafe.and the service was also very good.
Group of 3 with 2 children Had a charcuterie plate and a wonderful tasting Congratulations to our host who was excellent in her role Wines were terrific! Will be back!
We did a wine tasting at the cellar door, the wines were delicious. Gaby was amazing; super friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us a wonderful personalised tasting experience. Thank you!
A huge thank you to the Restaurant staff for making my birthday catch up with my friend so enjoyable. I don't give 5 stars lightly. It was a glorious day, the food and the accompanying wines were delicious and the staff friendly. When I was last at Scotchman Hill, the tastings were in the house by the road. How it has come on from there. It won't be that long before I am back. Thanks again!
Had a lovely afternoon tasting some delicious wines. The service was impeccable and the whole winery is just stunning.
Fantastic group wine tasting, we enjoyed the experience and bought a lot of wine because it was very good! Mark was a great host, very busy but looked after everyone.
Service was excellent, very friendly, and attentive. The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was great.
Amazing wines. Loved the fact the cellar door has seating as well.
Made the tasting a lot more enjoyable.
Really great lunch and the staff and customer experience was impressive on a very busy day. We did the wine tasting as well and Mark walked us through the stories aligned to the different wine ranges. We'll be back again but definitely recommend this amazing winery if you are in the Bellarine region.
Nice tastings and delicious food but poor customer service by one staff member spoiled the experience and we can't recommend this place.
A wonderful lunch at Scotchman's hill recently with visitors from Canada. Each dish chosen was very tasty and our shared dessert and wine tasting excellent.
What a disappointment! Firstly we order a charcuterie board which was not as the menu had stated and we had to inform the waitress they had forgotten items off the board. They told us that they had ‘delicious’ gluten free crackers and that bread would be served with the board. The gluten free ‘ delicious’ crackers served were rice crackers and the bread that I was given was old bread toasted.
What really made me write this review was the main course. For mains one diner order gluten free calamari, being coeliac they thought this was the safe option. When it arrived it was not gluten free at all. We had to explain to not one but three waitstaff that couscous was not gluten free but all they seemed to care about was who took the order.
The food was heavily salted and service was not what I’d expect for the price we were paying.
We left after main due to their being no gluten free options for dessert and the service being below average. Will not be recommending or dining here again.
I suggest you avoid the disappointment.
Excellent wine tasting. Mark did ours and he was an absolute star. Diligent, knowledgeable and generous
Arrived 29th January 3pm for a glass of wine directed very unwelcoming by matured lady to outside umberellas to buy a botte of wine, my daughter was told she could not use toilets inside but was direct around the back to use the facilities. Not happy to pay over 40 for a bottle if we could not taste prior lovely young man did the for us. Cheese Platter platters not on offer if you were not in restaurant.take this off your website as advertised if you are asking people to sit outside if you are not offering this. Lots of wineries on offer in area l am sure that would appreciate your money.but not here. OTHER SITTING AROUND US FELT THE SAME AS THE DISCUSSIONS FLOWED.not covid just disrespected.
Amazing food & friendly service in the restaurant.wine tasting superb knowledge and friendly service. Would highly recommend
Beautiful setting but poor service - rushed, pressured to purchase bottles after tastings and disappointing wines
We rolled in one beautiful day for a cup of coffee and the views, to be rudely rejected by the front of house staff. Unless we were downing a bottle of wine or participating in the wine tasting, they didn't want to know us.
Good to see that such an establishment promotes drink driving. Going by the amount of customer vehicles that were there the police would have had a field day.
What a beautiful place to visit! We had great experience with our tasting, every wine we tried was lovely and we wished to everything home with us! Will be back for lunch on a bright sunny day!
Great location with fantastic views across the bay to the Melbourne CBD. Lovely service, food selection and value for money.
