Scopri Italian Food and Wine

It was my first time in there and i will be back for sure. Hands down the best place for italian food in Melbourne. I loved everything, from fried calamari, to seafood salad, to risotto with zucchini and prawns, to the various specials. Good service, good quality of food. Well done guys!

I believe this is one of our best restaurants. Its menu is extensive and offers a wide range from capaccio of kingfish to slow roasted goat. Much of the produce comes from their own farm. The service is outstanding and as professional as I have experienced. As a bonus, they serve the best house made bread I have ever eaten

I’ve had wonderful experiences on both occasions I’ve been. Fantastic service, great pasta, and BYO! The best Italian restaurant in town in my opinion.

Absolutely amazing beautiful perfect food omg. Three generous courses wine and coffee for just over $80, and the best food you could ever imagine. The flavours fresh and delicate but very flavourful, the service was truly majestic, you felt like family and yet royalty. I felt incredibly happy after this experience.

We LOVE Scopri and although I’d love to keep this hidden gem to myself – you must give kudos where kudos is due. We like to go a few times a year for special occasions and I would describe it as semi-fine dining with added warmth. The food and wine is delicious – even the starter bread which they make themselves is amazing.

Most disappointingly sad meal
Like most people we found this restaurant through the many rave reviews and were excited to visit and as foodies enjoy every second.
Firstly the food; zucchini flowers were tasteless apart from the strong olive oil, not sure what the orange sauce flavour should have been but it was missing.
Then the Calamari that was average and entirely forgettable.
The star; the Oysters that were delicious but served with an astringent and inedible vinegrette and shallot dressing.
The Flounder that was very tasty and beautifully presented but which non of the servers offered to plate for us. Bizarre as even the calamari was offered for plating. Not something I was expecting but showed terrible service etiquette.
The Steak perfectly cooked where the server offered to plate for us having explained that it was already sliced to then find the the steak was only sliced once, whereupon she hurriedly ran to get a knife and started hacking.
We ordered a stellar Barolo that was delicious and decanted but the server was determined to minimise his need to serve us so we had one bottle served to us in three hefty lots, which did not do it justice. On top of this every time we were served water a huge splash landed on my sleeve and table place with no comment.
Finally, the service and overall team ambience; obviously there are huge issues between kitchen and service and this is maybe why the manager was busy lurking around every table with a menacing eye on his staff. There was a tangible atmosphere where even we were reluctant to be honest about our experience.
What’s sad is that this could have been so great but the horrible service the bland food and the general chaos between staff means we won’t go back and that’s the best way we can vote, is with our feet. So many better places to go in Melbourne, unless you’re very local, don’t bother.

Upstairs in the private dining room, as always fun and expert service from Giorgio. Food was consistently good. Particularly good was the whiting and beef. The bread is do die for. Will obviously be back again.

Fantastic service, beautiful food, bread was to die for. They really went out of their way to make my birthday celebration special. Recommend the carpaccio and the tiramisu.

Had our annual wine club dinner tonight at Scopri, our first at this venue. Giorgio was terrific at matching our byo wines with the entrees of Kingfish, Calamari, Scallops. Mains of KG Whiting, Agnolotti and Ribeye plus desserts. Impeccable food combined with superb service had all 12 attendees saying it was as good an end of year dinner as we had ever experienced. No question we will be back again, as Scopri is a gem in the Melbourne / Italian restaurant scene. Absolutely faultless except for the fact that the night passed too quickly.

A bit of a car ride out from the CBD, but worth it. Great service and food. The truffle risotto was outstanding. We also tried the kid goat, which was really good. Amazing service - they squeezed us in without a reservation - the local pinot noir, bread, scallops, pasta, and whole fish were all delicious, delicate, and wonderful. The prices were very fair. We loved it.

This is our go to special night out restaurant. It's fine dinning but with out the starchy atmosphere. Service is alway great, Food is fantastic. It's a gem, now if they could just find a few more square meters somewhere to put in an area to have a few drinks whilst waiting for you table it would be 6stars ;-)
