Sciclunas Real Food Merchants Mentone

Sciclunas has real good quality fruit and vegetables. The prices at Sciclunas are little bit higher than your normal fruit shop, this is because the quality of the fruit and vegetables is higher than your average fruit shop. The fruit and vegetables last longer in the fridge.

This is a great local produce and fresh fruit store with so many varieties of unusual artisan products. Everything is expensive but mostly good quality. A one stop shop for many visitors to Sorrento and certainly worth a stroll around even if you are not wanting to buy a lot. 4.8 ️ only because I think many items are very overpriced.

Poor customer service + coffee.should of listened to all the bad reviews. This review is for the cafe section.
I've had coffee from here before on 3 occasions. In all occasions the milk was either lukewarm or burnt- must be the 2 temperatures they serve. This review though is for the poor service I experience recently which makes me want to never come back. I bought a 'made fresh daily' crossiant and smoothie. After 1 bite in the crossiant I realise it's pretty cold and then realise the middle hasn't been cooked through and pretty cold like it's come out of a fridge and left out to come to room temperature. As I'm still waiting for my smoothie to come out I tell the counter lady who then takes the crossiant off me and just stares. I tell her I'd like a refund and calls over someone else to ask how to process a refund. This is where the fun begins and where they've lost a customer. The manager as she referees to herself tells me - 'I didn't ask for it to warmed up' and 'we don't process refunds, we dont buy it from here' and 'ofcourse it's cold, why would it be warm' and 'we can't just refund you just cos a customer doesn't like something' and my personal favourite 'we check all of them, they're not cold'. She refuses to belive the product wasnt good, doesnt even check the bag to see for herself. At this stage shes still refuses to give my money back OR give me anything else for the money I paid for. I'm still polite at this point but this rudeness and her fighting over this is pretty ridiculous.

I hope this feedback goes back to management to take a hard look at how their service and waiters speak to their customers. Majority of the products they buy in this store are from 3rd parties.so really not sure of why refunding me $$ was a big deal for a product that wasn't as fresh as they make you believe. At the end she just sighs and says 'fine I'll give you 3.50 back'. I'm pretty sure the crossiant was way more then that but I'm pretty done trying to push my point across.

Needs to improve on the checkout system at Mentone, expected to line up near the exit then go back past everyone to get out. Poor customer experience!

I tried some hot chocolate from their cafe and OMG. I loved it so much that another time while having a connecting bus service and got two so my friend (Who was on the same bus) could try the hot chocolate and he loved it too. I highly recommend getting drinks from their cafe. The Barista who works there is very nice and she produces a very consistent hot chocolate every time I go there. ;)

2 stars cause it looks great inside.
Not saying this in a angry way but this place is wayyy over priced.

Have been going here for 15 years and love it just the same every time I go. Friendly, efficient staff, great vibe. Clean and fresh fruit. Yummy cheeses, stunning flowers. Great coffee too.

Ordered coffee and some food.the young lady that works there comes out to speak to a customer, starts patting her dog then goes inside to serve me and handle my food without washing her hands.disgusting.

Impressive range of fresh fruits? And vegetables? , but maybe even more exciting is the deli section up the back of the store. Some really interesting local and imported meats, cheese, bread, pasta, etc. You can definitely find the ingredients here for a special meal.

Very attractive and well stocked store, some bargains to be had but mostly high quality produce with prices to go with them, very nice coffee, seating is outside so as long as it is a nice day it's ok

What a brilliant shop it has everything from fruit and vegetables, jar and bottled sauces and condiments. Any cheese you could imagine. The shop itself is to die for with many other array of foods. It's a must see.

This place is a Mecca got pampering your taste buds excellent fresh produce and wow such friendly staff keep Up the good work

Delicious deli style food mart. Many artisan and hard to find products. Gorgeous fresh fruit and vegetable displays. A one stop shop for gormet food lovers and cooks

Love this place. It's simply a happy place to browse and shop.

The wide range of fresh produce is reasonably priced and great quality.

The deli and pantry items are super tempting and the pavement cafe is fantastic.

Service can be a little patchy. Some staff training in exemplary customer service wouldn't go astray but still giving it 5 stars.

First time visit long time drive bys. Loved the variety inside, the cleanliness of the shop floor and how lovely the staff are. They have a variety of different groceries, ingredients and suppliers so you can help support local businesses. All round loved the visit and will surely be coming back for more?

So many healthy options. Open late, cheap items if you go before closing. Cheese deli blows my mind. Los of tastings too.

Best matcha late around but there's one lady in the cafe who is so standoffish it turns sour. Lucky all the other staff are nice.

Been going to the Sciclunas for a while and was never quite impressed with the coffee. I have recently tried it again and loved it! The girls over the weekend were lovely and Olivia left a nice quote on our lid to cheer up our day she always has a smile

I agree with last post. The service at Mentone store is terrible, rude, ill informed and at best whimsical. There are some pleasant staff but it appears good service is hamstrung by poor management.
The produce is ok but very expensive.
I suggest a better local greengrocer is the Merchant in Beaumaris. Good staff who know the business and are only too willing to help. The prices by comparison are very good and produce fantastic.
Interestingly we also shop at Scicluna in Sorrento and their approach is significantly better by comparison to Mentone.

Great produce but customer service isn’t always friendly. Didn’t bother asking if I needed a bag and then when I asked for one seemed annoyed.
