Sapporo Japanese Restaurant Mitcham reviews
54The place looked really cool and felt really modern. The menus where very easy to understand and were really nice not dirty or felt old and sticky. The pictures of the food really help deciding what to eat as I am not really full bottle on what each of the dishes look like. The food was amzing can fault it! The service wasn't slow but I think they need one more waiter or waitress on to just help out with cleaning tables and taking used plates if customers have had starter meals.
Hard to find good Japanese places. This place is always busy. Clearly a big hit with locals.
Sushi boats are fresh and very tasty, the udon is very good as well.
Tried to charge me $7 for a coke which was disappointing.
The worst service that I Have ever experienced, entrees and mains came out different times for our table of 11, I spent more time waiting for our food!
Could go on but we will never go back.
Very disappointed upon getting the bill after discovering that we could not split it and spending over $480 to get a weekend surcharge of 10%. Won’t be going back. All entres and mains canes out at separate times.
The sushi and sashimi is simply amazing! The fish is very fresh and other dish is delicious as well. The staff is really helpful.
Simply superb quality meals
Service is quite quick even though the restaurant was full & from previous conversation seems to be a regular occurrence.
Parking is limited out front but there is alternate options available.
Love this place. Staff are friendly & attentive. Food is good & prices are reasonable.
Have been coming here for many years & will continue to do so.
Very friendly proprietors. Excellent service. Delicious Food. We'll definitely be back.
We usually get a small boat and a tempura when we are here. We have been here many years since I’ve moved to Australia.
I am happy with the quality of food and the cleanliness of the restaurant.
Really good food, pleasantly surprised and the prawn tempura was up there with the best I’ve eaten. Great local Japanese for dinner.
The food took literally hours to come out. One thing at a time between 6.30pm when we arrived and 8.30pm when the third main finally appeared. No apologies. Staff, whilst polite, behaved as though this was nothing out of the ordinary. If you have time for a very very leisurely meal, enjoy. Unfortunately, things are a bit more time sensitive with our two small kids.
O. K.
Don't know about Japanese, or Asian Food, but my daughter suggested a Fish dish, which was lovely. One waiter (to us) was a "jack of all trades" and served us splendidly.
Recommend!
Sushi entree - 5/10
Soft shell crab - 5/10: crab too small
Seafood teppanyaki - 5/10: mussels not fresh
Grilled eggplant - 5/10: sauce too salty
Order-to-table too slow for a not too busy friday night & low value for $.
Will not go again.
Have ordered some sushi, it was fresh but a bit warm. My kids love the mini maki roll and of course the green tea ice cream.
On the menu, I selected the buffet option and was not disappointed!
Everything tasted fantastic and the meal was fresh!
I shall return.
It's been a my first visit by chance. The Bento what I ordered was pretty high quality overall. Chicken skewer for entree was really nice, fresh texture and sauce would be great as well.
I never know there was good Japanese eatery near my house. I'd like to visit sometimes whenever I wanna eat some decent Japanese foods.
Disappointing, was hoping it would be better based on reviews but the crab batter was Mushie inside as was the Japanese pancake. Sushi was ok, teriyaki beef was the only reason for the 2 stars as it was yummy.
The food was great, some of the best Japanese places I have been to. Great presentation. It was a little slow service but that’s just like any busy restaurant. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to eat authentic Japanese cuisine.
Enjoyed a break for lunch at Sapporo, as usual the food was amazing, great service even with all the Uber orders!
Booked for 545 with a 2yo, ordered 2 banquets and a fried rice for the child. Waited 30min for miso soup - had to ask for the spoons, another 30 for giant plate of rice which was for the 2yo and our 2nd course. Then waited another 2 hours for anything to come out. With the 2yo now past bed, we asked for it to all come out at once as it was now 3hrs since we ordered. Then decided to take away. We were told 5 mins. Waited another 15. In that time, 2 other groups had also packed up and left due to waiting.
The excuse was "lots of take away orders". How about customers who have come to the restaurant? !
Also, no change table in single stall bathroom. For a banquet, the portions were quite small between 2 people. The chef out front was ignoring customers when they asked what was taking so long - pretty sure he was the manager too. The wait staff were slammed with complaints that weren't their fault. Thanks to the ladies for giving us an extra scoop of icecream and apologising.
