Sandpiper Motel

We stayed in the family room, which was a 2 bedroom apartment. The rooms and beds were nice. However, the bathroom needs to be cleaned way better. There were dead flies in the tub and a pink ring in the drain. It could also use a renovation. Kitchen could use some work too.

Communication was also poor. We were checking in late so I contacted the hotel multiple times to confirm that's okay and they did not reply. Eventually I finally got a hold of someone on the phone and they rudely told me that I'll get instructions day of. All I wanted was to confirm it's fine.

Overall, the room we got was way overpriced for what it was.

Great value motel room. Very clean and modern. Complimentary shower gels and soaps provided. Big king bed was very comfy. Everything we were looking for on our short stay. Well located as well. Short drive to the main shopping strip and it was nice and quiet. You could also hear the waves crashing softly at night.

No staff, but you don't need them as the self check in works well. Excellent location. Has tea/ coffee making, toaster, bowls, cutlery, fridge. NO microwave or any way to heat up food

The hotel rooms are old and the carpet is very dirty, assuming they have vaccum at all. We have a room downstairs which was nightmare because we can heard people walking around from the upstairs during night time, people talking and pushing luggages around during morning time which hardly could sleep at all.

I won't recommend the motel at all.

Overall value to money, only the wall lacks of noise control treatments, can hear next room talking at night time.

We stopped over here while we were doing the Great ocean road. My friend put down that it was my birthday so they very kindly upgraded us to an ocean view room which was amazing! Lovely room, very comfy bed and had the loveliest bathroom! Would absolutely recommend!

Reception is unmanned but they responded swiftly to any phone call.
The place is wonderfully clean.

Lovely accommodation by the beach (literally walk across the road and the beach is there)
The room is clean with all of the amenities you need. Bathroom is clean, modern and fairly sized.
Easy check in and check out. Staff is ready to help.
We stayed in the room with terrace. The only thing would make it better is some privacy screen or hedge to provide more privacy from the street.
All in all, a great experience and would stay there again

This was my first stay at Sandpiper and I will certainly be happy to return there on future visits. The standard of room was very good, it was clean and the bed exceptionally comfortable. The one thing that I will say is that as a solo traveller, the size of the room was ideal for *me. * If I was travelling with another person, however, it would be worthwhile finding out how much 'personal space' they needed, as the room could seem a little cramped with two people and their belongings.

We had the perfect stay. The location was with in easy flat walking distance to everything. The room was perfect, extremely well cleaned, fantastic shower and bathroom and even a courtesy laundry that I took the opportunity to use.
When checking in the lady on the desk was great. Friendly and very informative about the area with recommendations. Also providing maps and a list of business to eat and shop. I highly recommend Sandpiper Motel and look forward to staying again soon.

An awesome motel located in a great spot not far from everything in Apollo Bay, walking distance if it’s not raining. Our room wash tidy and clean plus also felt a little luxurious and a huge bed looking at the ocean. Receptionist was helpful and gave us ideas to do the next day. Overall great place and would definitely stay again.

On arrival told they were writing down my credit card number "in case the room got damaged" seems a strange thing to say, so I have taken arrival and departure photos of the room

I had a fantastic stay there a few months back. The rate was just under $100 and it was much nicer than the next hotel I stayed at, which was almost double the price. Clean, tidy, friendly staff. Great size if you are traveling alone, but would be on the smaller side for a couple.

This was a last minute stay. The owner was very accommodating. We got a great room with a very comfy bed for a very reasonable price. The room was spotless. Shops within walking distance. We will definitely be staying here next time we are in town.

We wished we could stayed longer.the ocean view room was fantastic. Saw sunrise from the room, also koala in the tree just right front of our room. Walking distance to beach and shops.

Very kind staff! Clean and comfortable! Very happy with my experience, kids enjoyed themselves however I would bring entertainment for the younger ones in the winter times
