Sanctuary House Resort Motel reviews
24 We stayed there early January. Tranquil setting. Rooms /bed linen very clean. Registration was easy. Helen the Manager was very warm and friendly. The cooked breakfast was very good. We had dinner on Friday night. My sirloin steak was delicious.
The location was excellent. Close to Healesville Sanctuary. The town centre was a few minutes drive.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and return in the near future.
Hosts Sam & Helen are very warm & friendly.
Nice surroundings to have a meal. Lovely gardens.
We stayed for a family wedding. It was an ideal place to stay. Neat, clean rooms, beautiful, calm and peaceful area and the most warm and welcoming people run the Motel. We will absolutely stay again next time we're in the area.
Great value for money. Wonderful warm customer service despite running on a skeleton crew, great rooms, good food.:)
Easy 10 minute walk to Healsville Sanctuary.
We were a bit worried about staying at a motel, since we took public transport, but the walk to Sanctuary House was fine.:) If you are taking public transport, we recommend you stop at the Healsville Sanctuary bus stop, and walk from there.
Helen and her team were extremely courteous and welcoming when a group of us stayed recently. Rooms in excellent condition - nice and warm with 4 degree! Temperatures outside. Helen made sure our stay was extra comfortable. Highly recommend staying at Sanctuary House - beautiful fresh clean air and lovely surrounds. Go to food - homemade gnocci at the fantastic restaurant!
THANK YOU.
I’ve just spent three nights at Sanctuary House Resort Motel on a writing retreat with eleven women and it was wonderful. The setting is gorgeous and I stayed in the cottage, which was cute, cosy and clean. Helen and Sam are delightful hosts and I would love to stay there again. The cooked breakfast each morning was delicious!
Comfy bed, room was cosy. Location is convenient, just beside Healesville Sanctuary and staff were so hospitable and friendly. Would definitely stay again
I’ve stayed here four times because it’s wonderful. Only a five minute drive from the wonderful Healesville in a quiet bush setting. Absolute peace and quiet with only bird song to listen to.
Rooms are wonderfully clean, beds are extremely comfortable, shower is awesome and the restaurant is lovely old school service with lovely food.
I can’t recommend this place enough.
The staff are lovely and very accommodating and the breakfast is extremely good value.
I LOVE staying here.
Booked a group of 12 to stay for a 3 night writers retreat and it was an ideal venue. Quiet with lots a space for us to write and gather. Would have like a few more amenities in the rooms to make the stay more comfortable but otherwise a great stay that I would readily repeat.
I recently spent a three night stay at this lovely place. I was with a group of writing buddies and we had the best time. I loved my room, clean and inviting. Helen and Sam are delightful hosts and made our stay very enjoyable. Loved the brekky each morning. Thanks Sam: ~)
We stayed at the Sanctuary House Resort Motel for two nights with friends. We had a room with a spa bath which was lovely. The room was very clean, and amenities were all great. For the price it is excellent value. It is a little further out of town - approx 40 minute walk to the main street which is excellent if you want a quite stay, but also still be close to the action. It also has a lovely pool to use. It is nestled amongst bushland and has awesome sounds of wildlife
Have never been so disappointed in staying somewhere before. Found hair on the bathroom wall, the place smelt musty and dirty, the service was rude and we ended up leaving early as we couldn't stay another night. Cannot recommend this place at all
Really love this place. Super friendly staff, cute af location and facilities. Didn't get to try the restaurant, but the rest was great. Maybe a bit less rain next time: P
5 stars! What else can I say! I don't want to give too much away because I want to keep this precious place to myself! If you want to wake up to a peaceful surrounding and pretty place, this is it! Paradise! A 5 minute drive to town for endless choices of great food.enough said
Spectacular meals in a gorgeous setting. We loved walking the grounds and admiring the wildlife, and the delicious dinner and desserts were an incredible surprise.
Hubby and I rolled in on our motorbikes a bit over a week ago on a Friday. Had a shower, kicked back, relaxed. We enjoyed a terrific entreeand dinner. Helen and Amon were terrific hosts. We will stay again.
Really happy with everything. But.the ride home the next morning in the rain.was interesting.if you can give the weather next time.we would appreciate it.
A great place to stay, literally up the road from Healesville Sanctuary. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was exceptional, and the room was basic but very nice. It was a little unusual in having a door to the car park and another to the hallway, and our car space was actually down in front of someone else's room. There was a BBQ area in front of our room, which I quite liked until some kids kept our family awake until after midnight. We may have just been unlucky because I'm sure it's peaceful on most nights. The noise would be the only thing that would make me think twice about returning.
Restaurant was fantastic, owners were super friendly. Options for the kids and the meals were well presented and delish. Finally found a restaurant where the steak was cooked to perfection.
Went to the restaurant for dinner with the family. The meal was absolutely horrible and for that we thank you. The only good thing on the plate was the 90c bag of deep-fried in last weeks oil chips. "salad" was just a pile of cheap lettuce watered down with a 95: 1 rocket to lettuce ratio and a blob of blended tomato drenched in vinegar. No other ingredients? What the? The chicken parma was dry and way over cooked was tempted to take it to the bathroom and run it under the tap for 30 seconds to see if it would rehydrate itself. Was worse then a $12 truck stop parma but cost nearly $30. Other meals presented to the other guest at the table lacked flavour and consistency too. I would be embarrassed presenting such poor quality food.
Will add the garlic bread was delicious, shame the chef couldnt keep their composure for the rest of the meals. Gordon Ramsay would have a field day in this joint.
Had a good week's rest with my partner at the time it's got a great restaurant and bar pool and other facilities are available for your convenience, only a 10 minute walk to the healesville sanctuary. And 4 kilometres from the main town centre for shopping and dining out plus an Rsl, 2 bars and not far from a few great wineries
