San Remo Pelican Feeding reviews
51Amazing experience with the wild pelican feeding session. Its such an amazing and eyeopening session for us for all my life, I only see pelicans behind the fences! A big thank you to San Remo Fisherman's Co-op for this great initiative of sharing how wildlife reserve and conservation! A must visit when you are in Melbourne!
Controlled daily feeding of the pelicans at 12: 00.
The experience was good, and there was good information shared about the pelicans.
No pelicans today @ 12 when we were there but we saw 13 stingrays ️️️great photo opportunities available nearby & restaurants & cafes ️enjoy your visit
The man is a well of knowledge about pelican. We enjoyed the feeding process and learned a lot.
So cool to see all the pelicans, and the woman who was feeding them is so friendly and informative!
Your experience depends on how many pelicans turn up on the day of your visit. On my day they were only four. It can be zero on some days too. Just quoting the guide's words.
Such a cute little experience would pay to get there earlier unless you don't mind standing in the water
Daily feeding of the wild pelicans on the San Remo foreshore. Something I've never done before. Very informative talk from a wildlife officer, birds were almost within reach. Birds were amazing, beautiful and very elegant. Worth a visit
12pm at the Sam Remo pier, was fun! Good activity before 1pm whale cruise!
Excellent fish n chips on the pier too
Guide explains about the different Pelicans around the world, very informative, the size of them vary, cute when getting fed, enjoyable, especially for children.
So great to be able to get up close and personal with the Pelicans.
You can learn a little about these beautiful water birds as well.
The San Remo Pelican Feeding is a terrific event for all age groups.
These impressive birds are usually nearby at other times of the day too.
There's a good place nearby to purchase some fresh seafood or you can stop here for a picnic lunch. Definitely worth a visit)
Great experience. Watched a number of birds fly in. Got to see some very big Stingrays sweeping past in the water while watching. Great fun. Finished off with a feed of fish and chips
Is a great experience to visit and have some fish and chips after. The bad thing is because they are wild animals they sometimes do not come. But when they do is amazing
I’m 31 years old & go to the Pelican feeding every time I’m in San Remo/Phillip Island. It’s definitely not just a kids activity! I love seeing these incredible birds up close! The feeders have a microphone & teach a little bit about the birds as well during the feeding. There are usually stingrays hanging around the jetty as well which you can walk along after.
Went on 2021 Christmas, site have been much improved with lots of parking spot and very nice kids playground surrounded with ample park for picnic.
The Pelican feedback is finally back after the COVID break. Pelicans come to the San Remo foreshore everyday for a feed at noon, the San Remo fishermen’s co op have been feeding these birds for years and continue to feed as well as care for them as needed. It’s definitely worth a visit if you are around Phillip island as you get to learn about these birds and kids will love the experience.
On time, pelicans begin arriving very early, waiting for the fish lady to come and feed them. The lady was very informative in the way she presented the information about pelicans, and the co-ops role in feeding them.
Interesting to see, and can get very full. There is no guarantee of the number of pelicans that will show up. Free event, definitely worth doing.
Kids enjoyed seeing the pelicans up close and being fed. Couldn't really hear the person talking even though they had a microphone.
If visiting Phillip island this is a great place to come visit. Get there 30 mins before feeding time to get a great viewing spot. It's amazing for the whole family to see the pelicans at feeding time. Pretty unique and special experience. The fish and chips up the road who feed the pelicans is delish & fresh
Watching the pelicans being fed is entertaining and definitely something not to miss when visiting the island.
