Sammy's Charcoal Chicken

Went there 10 minutes before closing last night. I was greeted with smiles and well mannered staff. Staff was more than happy to cook up hot chips for me and to top if off, they threw in a gravy for me.

I don't understand how anyone could give this place a bad review. They are clearly a family run business. The staff are always run off their feet and always polite and helpful. You only have to be in there at dinner time to see the sheer volume of food they turn over. I usually go there at least once a week and have only ever had 2 issues. Once my salad wasn't in the bag and they fixed it immediately and were so apologetic. And the other time they accidentally put tomato in my souvlaki. When I told them they made me another one so quickly and gave me some free stuff. The chicken is beautiful. It's not dry. Some people just don't realise Charcoal chicken won't come soggy and sweaty like it does at a supermarket. It's been on a rotating spit. And the taste says it all. But my favourite is the Lamb HSP. The spring lamb they carve off the spit is way better than that shaved sausage meat some places have.

First time for me here last night. Service was good, prices are OK and food is great. Would definitely be here again.

Overpriced, overcooked and dry chicken. Needs to do better.
Edit: Tried again and no improvement. Chicken still dry (overcooked) salad mushy not fresh and pesto salad like soup. Not sure how a place like this stays in business with the food they are selling.

I was driving through Mernda and went past Sammy's and was amazed by the level of quality the service and food had. I live in the eastern area and now come here at least every week to have there amazing souvlakis and tender chicken!
Highly recommend and is honestly the best chicken shop I have ever been to! 10/10

I had an incredible experience at Sammy’s chicken shop! The food was amazing, and the service was outstanding. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in helping me select from their extensive menu. The chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful, and the sides were delicious as well. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the high quality of the food. I also appreciated the clean and welcoming atmosphere of the shop. Overall, I had a fantastic dining experience and would highly recommend Sammy’s to anyone looking for delicious and satisfying food with exceptional service.

Tried for second time as son wanted some. At least the food was cooked this time but charged me $6.55 for small chips when it says they are $6.50 check your receipts people

Highly recommend their lamb souvlaki. Marinated Spring lamb cooked over charcoal with all those black BBQ tasty ends.
Along with their chicken this place produces highly tasty and quality food.
Congratulations on doing it well when there is so much cheap and nasty food around these days.

Bought 2 large HSP last night. Sooo disappointed to see 2 large box full off chips and a very thin/tiny layer of meet. Couldn't find cheese in it. I paid 52 dollars for this.
Please never do this to anyone.

Highly recommend Sammy’s mernda. They have the best chicken and the souvlakis are cooked on charcoal. Great service all around. Amazing!

Everything is consistently delicious here, highly recommend it! Favourite place to grab chicken and chips for the family, it has become a weekly trip! The salad is always fresh and the burgers are incredible. 10/10!
