Sam Miranda King Valley reviews
44Perfect spot for a wine tasting and cheese plate. Wines are excellent and staff is very knowledgeable and no pressure in buying anything
We booked Sam Miranda for our 20th year anniversary celebration with friends. From the get go Jacinta was a gem. Super impressed with their service and making our day feel special. Food and wine was amazing! Thanks so much for having us, we will be back again
I had a fantastic experience at Sam Mrianda King Valley. The staff were very warm and welcoming, the food was unreal and the wine itself was delicious. Would highly recommend for those travelling through the King Valley to pop into the Sam Miranda cellar door - it's a must!
Unfortunately, I had a poor experience here. There was zero engagement in the wine tasting no knowledge shared or information about the wines I tasted.
I was told that the tasting cost would be wiped if I purchased any bottles, which seems fair; that's normal until check out, and I was billed for tasting and bottles. For that reason, be warned to avoid and head further past this location, if you considered having a 'real wine-tasting experience' I left with a really sour taste.
Maybe the owners could act, instead of defending comments made from genuine poor experiences had.
Had a family lunch here and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the outside area. The meals all came together and rather quickly. Everything looked great and was delicious.
I agree with the review left by Curtis today, and am appalled by the response from the business suggesting customers take their money elsewhere if they have feedback to give.
We visited this restaurant today to receive no welcome from staff, and waited over an hour for a basic platter with cold bruschetta, cold frittata, salad, cheese, biscuits, olives, calamari and arancini. Aside from 2 of these items requiring a few minutes in the fryer, the wait time is inexcusable due to lack of any communication from the staff and owner.
Sadly, our experience was not a good one. We were there after the lunch service and the lady who served us for the tasting ($15 per person), seemed very disengaged and uninterested. We tasted 3 wines quite quickly and with little engagement. A pity really. The cellar door needs to be more welcoming.
The gelato was the highlight!
Very disappointing unpleasant experience. Service was very poor and disinterested with a lack of manners. Ran into young staff members vaping in bathroom. Food and drinks were average for their price, coupled with a lack of heat and chocolate in the “not so hot chocolate”. Overall experience was not what was expected. Not recommended!
Heading home from bright to peninsula, we decided to lunch here, relaxing atmosphere, we ordered the prosecco platter, it was lovely but would have been nicer if more bread added to be able to eat the cured meats. Shelley beautiful host our dogs enjoyed the grass area and Shelley brought over water for them, the prosecco was divine.will be back.
Had lunch with friends over the long weekend … staff were so lovely, location picturesque and the food amazing! We’ll definitely be back when we’re next in Wang!
Had quite a disappointing experience at Sam Miranda Winery. Firstly, we called and got a reservation in the garden a day in advance, however when we arrived there they had not recorded our reservation. We were seated inside, which was not ideal but at least they were able to find us a table. Secondly, we were served on cardboard plates due to the dishes not being cleaned quickly enough. From a reputable winery with prices to match, that was extremely disappointing and not fitting of the location. Service was inattentive, with our table having to ask to be cleared when dessert came out and no acknowledgement of the mishaps previous. On the contrary, the food was lovely, however we wouldn’t return in a busy season.
We came to King Valley for a lunch with friends and decided to come to Sam Miranda.
I’m disappointed to say that I don’t think we will be returning.
We arrived to a pre booked table setting that wasn’t ready.
We went and ordered food at the bar. The lady serving us was lovely. When asking for the wifi, a young waitress said “it’s the phone number so just look it up”. I responded that I couldn’t as I don’t have phone reception. She responded in a rude tone … “just look it up”. I could tell the lady serving us was embarrassed.
We then sat outside and had a lovely lunch. The kids were enjoying the beautiful surrounds and cubby house … we were happy. We ordered food which was delicious. The waitress serving the food & the kids ice cream basically threw the plates down, no smile, no “enjoy your meal”.
It unfortunately took up to 2 hours for our plates to be collected … imagine the flys in the hot weather! We asked a waiter if he could clear the plates. He apologised and said of course. He never came and instead was chatting by the outside bar with a colleague. We placed our dirty plates on a nearby empty table.
We queued for 30 minutes to order a bottle of Chardonnay. The bottle was warm, we weren’t given a cooler or fresh glasses. I went to the bar to request glasses and ice and felt very uncomfortable doing so.
Overall, a beautiful setting but very disappointed about the service.
Top Quality Service with Top Quality Wine & Food
If you are passing by Oxley & it's during open hours for Sam Miranda, you simply must stop in! Can not speak highly enough of every aspect when it comes to this establishment for every visit we've made and we've been coming for over 10yrs now. Rachel and her staff were so friendly and accommodating (and they're certainly not immune to staff shortages and what not here, nor were they on the day of our visit this year). But the food still came out at the best of standards with smiles on their faces. What more could your ask for?
We will always be back
Always has been and always will be, my favourite winery?
Smallest tasting I have ever had!
Lady servicing us was rude!
Nice place but terriable service.
Had a lunch there today.excellent food
Good wine.and great friendly staff
Treat yourself
It's was my first time attending here. It was a pleasurable experience with nice food and wine. The young waitresses did a wonderful job looking after the guests.
We were looking for a winery around Milawa area to celebrate my mum's birthday. Lucky we got a booking at their restaurant. So we came back the next day. The place is so beautiful and relaxing. My favorite is the dog who greets everyone. The food taste good, big serving size, but the best dishes was the chicken parmigiana and the calamari. Our food took long time, but they had two big tables "bridal shower" which understandable. I suggest they should do some service training for some staff. Overall experience was great. We'll be coming back for sure.
Very poor experience and expensive considering there is no table service. The food that was on the $55 platter was nice enough but was only worth $35 at best. Looking at photos of the $75 platter from other reviewers I am so glad we didn’t go with that option! Also, mask wearing of staff was very casual which is extremely out of step with the region.
We visited Sam Miranda today and our expectations were exceeded. From the food and wine to the products and service on offer we experienced top quality.
Order the sharing platter and a spritz cocktail.
The calamari is the best I have had. Other wines we tasted and love include Prosato, Pinot Grigio and the Saperavi.
If you’re looking for a wine membership- this winery is one to sign up for.
Marvellous afternoon under the trees as always. Great food with fantastic wine. What more could you ask for on a summer afternoon.
