Salvos Stores Fitzroy reviews
18It’s not the greatest op shop. I find the stock turn over isn’t high and the quality of the clothes is lacking, often aged or ratty. A few in need of a wash cause quite fowl texture or smell. Pricing is okay. I’ve yet to find anything great here. Staff are fine.
This is a large Salvos store with a great selection of reasonably priced items — staff are also friendly and approachable ️
Leanne's the manager is a true legend. Volunteered here for some time. Great bunch of people, and some hidden gems now and than. Love ya, Leanne!
This store is massive. Nice staff and great prices too. They have a good book, shoe and activewear section and lots of stock to look through.
I'm not usually a buyer at Salvos stores, but I do often drop of still-good clothing or other items we no longer use. Usually the side entrance on Westgarth St is open (onto parking lot and you'll see racks in front of or just inside the roller door). When side not open, drop off via the front entrance. Friendly staff.
Huge op shop.
Bit overwhelming.
Sometimes you find gems but most of the times you don’t.
Prices are okey.
Staff is great.
Good sized store with friendly and helpful staff. Clothing sections are large and well stocked in both quantity and variety. Good range of homewares such as cutlery, crockery and other kitchen & home decor items.
Electrical items are a bit hit and miss; sometimes they will have fans/heaters, fridges, etc; Othertimes it may only be a lamp and desk clock. So it's a bit of a lucky dip there.
My only complaint is the pricing for furniture (read: shelving, couches, ent units). While not overtly expensive, they are not what most people would consider to be OpShop prices.
This is a great Salvos store. It's been expanding over the last few years, so the range is very big. It's also easy to donate goods, as there is a big area at the back of the store.
Big salvos store, plenty of stuff, washing machines and electricals available, several book shelves, parking available at the back, lots of shoes
Large store, plenty of variety but on my visit not much of quality.
But oppshopping is a hit and miss sort of thing
I really like this salvos.i got a kilt here for $7 and a coat with real fur for $15.highly recommend.
This is a great place to find a variety of stuff like kitchenware, furniture, clothes, books, kids stuff and anything you might need for home for a reasonable price. Most of the goods are in good condition.
On the upside the place was well organised and staff were friendly but to be honest I was very confused by the pricing. The furniture and crockery were really overpriced for the condition. Some of the clothes were the same price they would have been originally. I was excited to come here when I saw how big it was but many of the clothes were not in good condition and some even unfortunately soiled which was really off putting, crusty marks, grease stains and coffee marks. I don't know what the protocol is but I was disappointed. ️
The place with the best books, kitchenware, decorations, and prettiest treasures ready to be suddenly discovered!
I had a great time in the store. I was in there for over an hour. I like to take my time and ferret about. I got 14 items for just over $50. I searched for the half price tickets so I saved over $50.
I bought lots of labels including sass and bide, gorman, Rag and bone, cos, plus a few great vintage pieces.
That's the positive now here's the negative.
I really had to check everything out thoroughly because the quality of many items was atrocious. I actually put three things on the end of the rack and pointed it out to staff. They said sorry and took them away. As I was leaving I noticed that they had been put back on the rack. I had a look to see if perhaps they had marked them as damaged and reduced the price but they hadn't. They were not cheap either. That was disappointing.
Unfortunately the damaged goods wasn't rare either. It seems that they don't have any quality control anymore.
So while I would recommend the store, I would also suggest that you check the items thoroughly inside and out so that you are not disappointed when you get home.
Happy opping.
Too many huge signs about Jesus for my liking. I won't be donating clothes here so that the cardinal-pell fans can take the credit
Long time ago since my last visit! It was nice see how big, tidy it is now, and of course the volunteers are always so lovely and kind
