Salvos Stores Elsternwick

The only salvos I have ever been too that doesn’t allow dogs? Seems weird as I have been to so many Salvos all over Melbourne and it’s never been an issue.

I concur with other reviews - this is one of the most expensive op shops I've been to. And I have been to a lot!

One of the most ridiculously over priced op shops around. I used to go here much more often but lately the prices have gotten out of control. Some things they sell can be found cheaper NEW down at coles. I do expect salvos to be the more overpriced stores around, but this place takes the cake.avoid, and check out the other ones in elsty.

One of the few Op shops in melbourne that I have to say are too expensive! Everything they sell, I can guarantee I can find cheaper elsewhere. Not only that, but the staff who work in this salvo's store are rude, not interested in serving customers or not helpful to customers. Do not visit this salvos's store.

Nice staff. Prices are crazy high, which is why I stop by less and less at this shop. Some prices are higher than the retail price for new! C'mon!?

I bought a watch here last week that was vastly overpriced. I didn't say anything at the counter because there was a line behind me, and when I came back to talk to staff about it the shop was closed.

Went in today, a week later, to see if I could do anything. This was a watch sold for $70 that retails new for about $100. And the clasp didn't work as it turned out. The woman who was there last week wasn't there. I had the misfortune to speak with a rude, nasty little man who basically sneered at me and told me to come back when she was there. Which on a weekend isn't for two more weeks. I can't come in during the week because I work (and when I said that I got a look which said he didn't believe me. He was really nasty).

I have been buying and donating to Salvos for a long time. I never will again. I threw the watch away because it would have cost me more to repair than it was worth. The nasty, bitter little man who was serving could have let me exchange the watch for other goods, which was clear on the receipt, but presumably wouldn't because it only said 'accessories' on the receipt. Seriously horrible experience. Salvos should be ashamed of themselves.

The store has a great range and set up and conveniently has a tram stop (67) right outside the store.
A bigger store set up nicely, large range of clothes and kids, the bric a brac section is smaller.
I usually find something whenever I go.
On a main street in a busy area so parking is hit and miss.
Friendly staff.

Honestly so overpriced. Would barely classify this place as an op shop. I saw a Kookai jumper for $38! If I donated my clothing to charity and knew it was being sold for that much I’d be pretty annoyed

Sells real artist released cd's $3 each & burned pirate copies $3 each! It's not hard to at least look at what your selling rather than just stick a tag on it. Furthermore, salvos not even 5 minutes away sells discs at $1.00

Dirty store, rude staff. One would definitely need an army to find salvation for this place

Staff are so blunt and rude! No one seems like they want to be there and the clothes are crumpled and unloved. Head office need to reevaluate how this store runs because something is not working.

Pretty good salvos! Can find some cool stuff in there. Watch out for staff member Carmen though. She is very rude and abrupt, not very nice at all.

Im a regular customer, staff there, in particular a lady who loves cats, she wears glasses, always always gave me wonderful service. Unfortunately, wednesday (after boxing public holiday) I there was a very rude male who opened up. There was a beautiful red dress on the manequin at the front window, I asked if I could try on? He was abrubt and adv 'just take it off', no help there. So I did his job, and that took time as I did not want to cause any damages to the dress, took time, and I clearly saw the price tag $9, wow, a treasure, hopefully it fits, wow.size 6, can't wait to try on. Tried on, fit like a glove, yes $9 bucks im going to get it! I go to pay, at the counter he quickly takes the dress, next min, he says 'that will be $45'. Confused I tried to say 'but I saw that for'. He cuts me off 'yes its 45.00'. I felt no option but to buy as I loved the dress. I paid with my card, I walked out the door not even a metre, I looked at the tag and the person who served me I noticed he 'cut' the tag where it had $9 labelled on the blue section of the tag and stuck a sticker labelled $45! Could not believe.and so shocked, and felt sick in the stomache. I went to confront. I said that took me time to take off the manequin and clearly I saw the price tag $9. He denied ofcourse, said how dare I accuse him of this. Made me feel like I had issues. I asked for a refund, as his actions made the dress feel dirty with bad energy, for his scheming and stealing from me! He said no refunds. I asked for a manager and he said he was the manager. I felt so helpless. Please see photos, I have made many purchases here and still have price tags to show what he did! You can clearly see he cut this and stuck a sticker on. I hope that the money you stole from me goes to charity to those in need, as I can only think of the positives, only YOU know what you did, in that moment, when you picked up a pair of scissors and snipped that tag and stuck that sticker, deny all you want, believe in your own lies, karma will get you eventually. Absolute shock. To everyone else, start taking photos of your label incase this happens to you too! Never thought I would have to advise as such. But if you see a lovely lady with glasses, she is amazing, and I believe would not hurt a soul. Thanks mr manager, if you really are one, you have made one of the best opp shops the worse and uncomfortable to a regular loyal customer. Who knows how many you have done this to. Only you will know how much of a cunning low life you are, then again, a narcassist, pathalogical liar, you probably can't even see it and believe in your own lies.

When trying on $10 item tag fell off and when I got to the counter with the tag she upped the price by $5 and would not accept the tag with the starting price when I explained the situation she says to me in a extremely rude tone, ‘that’s not how it works sweetheart’ the dress was now out of my price range and when I went to put it pack she tell me off for putting it in the wrong spot although that was originally found. I left with a sorrow heart.

Hey buddy you want to get all funny and accuse me of stealing cause i didn't have a receipt for my two dollar item, in there every week say hello to you, even though your always rude, i try not to judge!
No more going into that place and hopefully someone reads these as i see I'm not the only one who had been treated so rude.

Just walked out in tears.man at the counter wouldn’t accept my card because it’s over seas. After showing him multiple forms of ID that match and signing he still made me go and get cash. Then, he still charged my credit card. Honestly, I even understand him he was just doing his job. But the way he spoke to me was unbelievable. I’ve never met someone so rude, as he was also treating other customers badly. I loved this place and was a frequent customer so this really made me sad. However, when the woman stepped in and finally helped me, I felt way better. Thankful for her.: (

A excellent shopping experience.
Store is laid out beautifully with ease of access everywhere whilst lovely displays.
A wide and current selection of clothes, accessories, books, shoes, crafts, bric a brac, etc.
Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful, prices are very reasonable including new items, plenty of bargains to find and buy.

I've noticed that the store has some new staff or should I say job seekers that they exploit on a daily basis as well as 1 or 2 legit staff. The main "BIG"core female manager (bleugh) is still around? ! Well that's shame but one aspect that I did see that I've never seen before is the front entrance has been smashed up/vandalised? ! That's never ever happened in the history of that store before before in decades? ! Hmm I wonder why and whom or what may of caused it? !

If you have the time - LOTS of stock, found some great items. But it's a whole production, this store is huge
