Sal's Authentic New York Pizza - Flinders Lane

A truly delicious slice of pizza, so much so that I went twice while visiting Melbourne. I only opted for the traditional pepperoni slice, which was about authentic as you can get outside of the U. S.the sauce was fantastic and was really what sealed the deal for me. I imagine the order types of pies are great as well (and there are lots to choose from). The price was great considering you’re in Melbourne, as the slices start at 6 dollars. Fast and friendly service, this is a must when you’re in the area.

It wasn't as authentic as I was expecting. I'd discovered this chain a few months ago in Auckland and we were impressed with that one, but this one was a bit of a let down.

I experienced and ate at Sals on the 22nd of December. I enjoyed the taste of their pizzas but had food poisoning from their food. I’m not sure if it may have been a bad slice or not but I did feel sick the day after (today). The atmosphere and staff were great but the food hygiene was a letdown.

You can tell it is different when you taste it compare to authentic Italian you normally get made by your friendly Indian neighbour.

I been to City and Richmond stores. Wish they had better seating. Cheese pizza is the best! So good I don't even mind eating it the next day. Don't know what it was with the mixed meat one, might have to give it another go.

Omg. Finally. I'm from Brooklyn, bed-stuy to be specific. Hands down best pizza I've had in Oz. Actual ovens! Real pepperoni! It's not Brooklyn pizza but it was so close it nourished my soul.

Quick service, visually very good, the meatball pizza definitely tastes like authentic new York style pizza, the nonna pizza could use more cheese but is otherwise also pretty tasty- heavy on the herbs and would probably do better on a thicker base, would buy again just wouldn't get the nonna

Ordered the Italian sausage pizza and added mushrooms, really good New York style pizza. The base is thin and toppings generous but not overdone. The crust is pillowy. The menu option on UberEats is limited compared to the menu available in store or via Sal’s website - no half and half available via UberEats. But the pizza is good. Next time I’ll head into the store and try the Manhattan.

While Sal's Authentic New York Pizza undeniably serves delicious food, I was somewhat disappointed by the pricing and portion sizes. The flavours and authenticity of their New York-style pizza are truly commendable, delivering a mouth watering experience that transports you to the bustling streets of the Big Apple. However, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of dissatisfaction when I received my receipt and realized the cost was higher than expected for the uneven portion sizes provided. Despite the exceptional taste, the pricing seemed slightly disproportionate, leaving me longing for a more generous serving. Although the food itself is undeniably enjoyable, it's crucial to consider the value for money aspect when dining at Sal's.

Delicious pizza, just like getting a pizza in NYC. The whole pie is a little expensive but it’s huge, you could make a dinner for at least four people out of it.

Wish I could give it 11 stars the pizza was fantastic met my expectations, great music and great vibes highly recommend

REVIEW:
We pre-ordered the day before and received a confirmation email. Then when we arrived on the day to pick up at 12pm, it seemed like they didn't get our order.
Between choosing to make it fresh (15 mins), or take what they had (10 mins), we chose to wait the extra 5 minutes.
Sal's staff were very nice (+1) and offered to make our half pizza a WHOLE pizza as an apology for the inconvenience.

It was my first time New York Pizza. With minimal toppings, a floppy base, grease on massively sized pizza and garlic knots that didn't have garlic all the way through.it wasn't my favourite. Other reviews are saying it's pretty much an authentic American pizza. Personally, I'd rather stick to my abundance of toppings.

Saw lots of people coming in during the lunch rush for a slice or two, and garlic knots in sauce. They reheat the pizza so that you can consume it warm.

The pizza was good. Particularly the chicken pizza. However, they actually reheat the pizza after payment is made. No frills service. Other than chicken pizza, it is only above average.

The pizza is tasty and it terms of value you get your money’s worth as the portion sizes are generous. They also provide a good variety of pizza’s to select from which I appreciated

This pizza is our son favourite pizza place, we have to catch 40mnt train to buy the pizza. But lately their service going down the hills. Very careless staff. We miss our train 'cos counter staff keep calling "sarah" which is the name of the staff for our order.

Pizza on point. Mild safety concerns with drunk patrons trying to negotiate the in/out flow via the narrow thoroughfare.

Won't be going back to this sals again. They're meant to open at 11.30. The first time we went they didn't open until 12 and then today we went in at 12 and they guy tells me they're not open for another 15-20mins because of a big private order. They're happy to turn away customers.

It's a cozy little place and the pizza is just amazing. Its a must try! I can never resist a massive slice of pizza from here whenever I am in the City. Thank you very much for an amazing service. 10 stars.
