Sakura Sushi Cuisine reviews
23Online order. Food was ok. I ordered an expensive Japanese drink - it was impossible to open so wasted $7.40. Tried to call for advice - landline disconnected and several no answers on mobile.
I eat alot of sushi and I don’t know what it is about this place but they make it the best. Seriously, everytime I eat it, it melts in my mouth. So good.
Horrible quality. The sushi rice seems to have been made with non-sushi rice, not enough sushi vinegar in it, dry and was falling apart easily. The tuna was not fresh at all, smelt funny and had very bad fishy smell, I hope we don't get food poisoning. I'll never order from this restaurant ever again. Not worth the money. As a Japanese person who knows the real sushi, this is the worst experience ever.
Amazing food, high quality, fresh and great service as well. I always come back at least once a week. Thanks Shakura Sushi VIC.
Bought 3 platters from here for a wake/memorial service. I rang to ask for it to be ready earlier than 11am on a Saturday, which nowhere else would do. But they agreed once I told the reason for the platters. I'm very with what I got, nice variety on the platters and it was all delicious. Generous sized platters too, I could have got away with just 2 but I didn't mind as the price is more than reasonable indeed. I will happily get more sushi platters from this store in the future, highly recommend.
Conveniently located and the staff are quick to make phone orders, love to get the nigiri platters for a high quality lunch at home. Highly recommend.
We just ordered from Sakura Sushi for the 1st time today. The food is fantastic & there customer service was really a stand out. They were so polite & helpful. We will definitely be coming back. Thankyou!
Order sushi online, the order was accepted and a driver was assigned to pick the meal up.the delivery time past and the driver hadn’t pick it up. On contacting the online order service I was told the restaurant was closed and the order couldn’t be fulfilled. But they shouldn’t have accepted the order to begin with, that’s what makes me even more frustrated.
I wouldn’t trust ordering from this restaurant again, if they’re ok to accept the order but never fulfil it and just close doesn’t impress me.either don’t accept the order and close or fulfil the order and deliver food.
But taking my money isn’t the right thing to do and shows lack of respect for the customer.
Food is quite okay - ordered Japanese Fried Rice. My gripe is that unless I spent over $15 they would not give me a plastic bag to carry my takeaway in. My hands were full of other shopping I had, so I had to juggle my steaming hot plastic bowl of rice back to the car. The food I'd rate a '4' but the service side of things let them down.
Average pricing, the man behind the counter was nice. But the food wasn’t that tasty. I bought the sashimi bento and a sushi roll. The fish was fine and tasted relatively fresh but the rice tasted bitter which was really weird and I couldn’t eat it.
I’m glad I had a drink to get the taste out of my mouth.
It’s unfortunate that after reading all the 1 star reviews, I never even got to try the food here. Despite arriving well before the advertised closing time and despite the blinking ‘Open’ sign, I was told by the woman that they were closed, as she packed away boxes of leftover sushi in preparation of another day of potential terrible reviews.
Delivered the wrong sushi, then said we were confused and it’s the correct sushi when it clearly wasn’t.then blamed the Uber driver for delivering the wrong meal. Refused a refund until we drove to their shop to show them the sushi which completely defeats the purpose of delivery. Lady we spoke to was rude and spent her time yelling at us. Terrible terrible service.
Ah well. I hate to say it but the food here was a bit of a train wreck.
I ordered the (ton) katsu-don so crumbed pork cutlet on rice. And yeah. Nah. I don't think I've ever seen or tasted one quite like that.
Firstly definitely not a panko crumb on it. It was the thinnest pork cutlet I've seen. In fact I'm not certain crumb ever crossed this cutlet. Oil was old and stale and you could taste it. Because it was so thin it was overcooked to death. The sauce was way too sweet. And the egg was definitely done Chinese style (which isn't surprising but still: D) sadly probably the thing done best.
But i guess it was huge serve of rice and it only cost $9.90.
Still I'd probably prefer my money back. I feel bad saying this but this really doesn't even pass the oh it's just suburban "Japanese" food test.
It's pretty awful. Hope other didn't find it as bad but. Everything tells me I'm not only one.
Had the special fried rice delivered and whilst eating I noticed there was a feather in my food. Honestly put me off from ever ordering from this place and yes I did call them and informed them of this their response was that they will get the manager to give me a call. It’s been over 3-4 hours and I haven’t got the call. Disgusted and annoyed.
I will give no star if possible, bad attitude and they are charging 5% on card if spending less than $20, which I believe is illegal as business are not allowed to charge more than what banks charge them.
To answer to Leigh's adventures comment. Staff at Sakura Sushi are actually Chinese (I checked). Leigh should be able to recognise the difference between these two languages if he speaks Japanese as he claims he does:). If you check Leigh's other comments he is just a disgruntled, white male that spends too much time in various McDonald's stores then criticises them. Sakura Sushi is a really good local sushi store, clean, well visited by locals and staff are always polite. Leigh is a pain who doesn't speak Japanese!
I’ve had Sushi & Bento from here and it’s great. Think some reviews might be confused with sushi on High st which has closed down, that was bad!
Best Sushi, Great service. Have been going there for years now and have always had excellent service and tasty sushi. I just read reviews and can't believe them. They must be talking about the wrong place. Sakura Sushi Kent Ave is amazing. If could give ten stars I would for they deserve every one of them.
HORRIBLE! Placed and order with them for delivery and the order never arrived! Called to see where it was and they were shut. Left with a hungry and angry family with no dinner
Terrible sushi. Rude staff, asked if it was fresh and was told yes but clearly wasn't. Threw up an hour later. Don't bother with this place
