Saigon one reviews
28Both times I've been here for dinner, I've been served delicious Vietnamese food. The prices are cheaper on the in-store menu compared to what is shown on the maps menu. Bring cash - the card surcharge is 2% here. Highly recommend the broken rice with fried pork chop, egg and shredded pork. The salt and pepper chicken ribs were tasty but had an unusual batter. Having a tissue box on each table is excellent.
I’ve come here more times than I can count. The food is always delicious, and not many other Vietnamese places compare with the consistency of Saigon One. My go to orders are the salt and pepper squid, plus the grilled pork vermicelli bowl with spring rolls. The coating on the squid, along with the grilled onions combine to make a flavour explosion in your mouth. And the vermicelli bowl is also a winner in the flavour department. Prices very reasonable. Defs worth a visit if you’re in the area!
The food is sooooo gooood, my go to order is the Broken Rice and everything is seasoned to perfection
Have been coming here for years. Food is quick and delicious and reasonably priced.
Service is friendly and efficient. One of my favourite restaurants.
I've been coming her for years - the food is absolutely delicious, and the owner and staff are very friendly. A real hidden gem!
Previously had the pho and decided to try the broken rice. As other reviewers noted, the pork was a bit dry. Choosing a fattier cut of meat would allow the juicy from oozing out upon biting. Loved the chilli condiment, full of dried shrimp flavours.
Dined in for lunch. About 1/2 to 2/3 full. Service was quick, as was the food. The portions, taste and freshness of the food was first class.
Attended the restaurant with my wife, mother-in-law and my handicapped brother-in-law.
Entery can be from the front or rear entrances, however if wheelchair access is required, front entrance is the entry point.
Highly recommend the grilled chicken and spring roll vermicelli (bun).
I have been to dozens of Vietnamese restaurants in the greater Melbourne area, and after years of careful surveying and analysis i can say with extreme confidence that Saigon One delivers the overall greatest performance of any of them. It consistently offer a high level of quality, affordability and service - never faltering over the five full years i've been a customer there. If you enjoy genuine, wholesome and just plain delicious Vietnamese food, you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to come here.
You can thank me later.
I had about 6 of their chicken and mushroom soup over 3 days when I was sick. It was really delicious and the pho is great too.
There is literally nothing bad to say about this place. The vibes, the service, the food. All are amazing and its genuinely such a good place. One of my favourites. Go here.
Excellent, fresh, tasty pho.
Friendly family owned business. Regular go-to for pho.
Beautiful place: food was great n had one of the best salt n pepper calamari which was juicy n delicious. Beef pho is always our favourite, and service friendly love our newfound Vietnamese food hangout!
Had a small Pho. Big serving size, quick service, and tasty. Will return next time I'm in Melbourne.
Love this hidden Vietnamese restaurant!
This is the first time for me to have lunch here and I was surprised by the amazing food they offered. My partner and I ordered beef pho and pork broken rice, both of them tasted wonderful. The pork was tender and juicy and I love the variety of veggies they provided on my plate.
One more thing is that the sauce area was absolutely clean and tidy, and I enjoyed the whole experience very much.
Will definitely come back!
I've been waiting for 35 mins and the foods still not here?
edit: waited for 40 mins for 3 mediocre bowls of pho.don't come if you're already hungry
don't come if there's a better pho restaurant near you:)
They can never seem to get my order right. This is a picture of my battered sweet and sour pork. I also phone ahead to pick up my order, which I was told was going to be 5 mins. I ended up waiting 20 mins when I got there, 10 mins after the call. It was not busy. The last time I ordered from here, I asked for no peanuts on my vermicelli. Picked it up, took it home.and there was peanuts!
I had a great experience at Saigon. It was delicious the staff gave us plenty of time to think about our order. The food is great value and generous portions. I had the Chicken and spring rolls rice noodle salad and would recommend this dish to anyone.
Pho chicken soup, hmmm my mouth is watering already.it was so nice, I had the medium size Pho chicken soup and as that was big enough after seeing what size plates others were getting.definitely worth the money all round, with great friendly service and staff always smiling, what a friendly little place to go for a meal.
I recommend anyone from the area or even out side the area eating at the Saigon One
I love his pho! I can say its the best pho in Melbourne (Cause I didn't tried all of Australia's yet) So appreciated his restaurant around my place especially lockdown stage4 with 5km rules.
Courteous and helpful staff. Had a good experience, enjoyed a ban bo hue which was good and the brisket in it was delicious but had coagulated blood missing. Service was fast.
