Saffs Cafe

Had the best BLT and iced coffee while visiting for the weekend. Lovely vibe sitting outside, love the heritage building and the staff are so lovely. Highly recommend.

I can't remember the last time I had a coke float but geez it was good. Fried chicken burgers are a staple though and this one was nicely put together with a very tasty sauce.
I'll definitely be back for the cakes, they made the whole place smell amazing.

Such a vibrant atmosphere even on a Sunday morning. Quick service. And now a bad Turkish role. Inside and outside seating. But above everything, superb coffee.

Coffee was quite good this time, last time quite bad.
Food was disappointing overall. Beans were tasty but my wife’s we’re cold. Spinach was fresh/raw/undressed. Sautéed and seasoned is much nicer. Nice Turkish bread. Eggs were nicely poached. Generous hollandaise (good) but a bit bland (bad).
A bit cold, ask the waitress who was standing in front of the heater!
Edit: tried again five years later. Coffee was very bitter. Hollandaise was very oily, which suggests it’s not made in house.

Overall I was truly impressed by this cafe. The prices were fair and reasonable especially for a breakfast/brunch place (wasn’t $20 for some eggs on toast). The coffee was great along with the hot chocolate. I had the savoury scrambled it was delicious full of fresh tasting ingredients. Customer service was friendly as well. Only slight negative (if I’m being fussy) was the potato rosti was a tiny bit oily.

But overall highly recommended cafe in Castlemaine with great prices and friendly staff. I will return

Popular place as lots of customers sitting out front in sunshine- a bit of a wait for food but very tasty when we had it served- the big breakfast. Very nice brownie too!

We stumbled upon this lovely little Cafe. Everything about it was 10 out of 10 for us. We willl return some time

Cosy rear area to enjoy a light lunch. Fast and friendly service and lunch was delicious. Good coffee

I had the saffs chicken burger the chips were good and the waiters were polite but the sause that was in the burger was quite strong.

I enjoyed my brunch at Saffs.poached eggs, wilted spinach, in-house made hash brown, on smoked salmon. One of my eggs was over cooked.but the hash brown was unusual and nice.
The coffee was Good!

Went there for breakfast sunday morning, mother's day, very busy. Staff did there job extremely well, considering how busy they were. Food was tasty. Not expensive.

When I visit my family in Castlemaine we often head here. Really nice staff, and yummy cakes at reasonable prices. Breakfast is always good. The outdoor garden area is sadly closed, (maybe too difficult for staff with laden trays to traverse) but the undercover deck allows a view of greenery. Coffee is great too.

Excellent breakfast options. Very helpful service to our sunny table on a beautiful spring morning. Always enjoy returning to Saffs when we come to Castlemaine and when on the way to/from Bendigo. Side benefit is the excellent shopping in Castlemaine within walking distance of Saffs.

Went for a post wedding breakfast. No booking but they accommodated our party of 6 easily and the food and service was excellent.

Such a lovely little place! Staff were amazing and the food was divine. I had the open sovlaki and it was sooo delicious. If I'm in the area again, will definitely be returning.

Loved the food with a lovely ambience of their dining experience. Been here twice with friends, we've all loved it - Dined inside and outside on another occasion. Beautiful tasty food, nice sized servings and not expensive. Staff very friendly. Seems to get busy around main eating times. Definitely a must visit if passing through Castlemaine. THANKS for a relaxing dining experience!

Dropped in shortly after 7am Saturday morning for an Eggs Benedict w salmon, and coffee. The food was Excellent! Highly recommend.
