I have been happy with safety steel in the past since they have changed ownership the job we had done is unsatisfactory a carport for our caravan a Mac truck could be parked under the wrong height was pickedup by the erector it should have been returned and corrected not sheltering our caravan fom the elements and now they send out a further invoice for $500 wat a joke

I had previously bought two large sheds over $60k and was happy. Put a deposit down on two smaller, long time waiting for permit plans. Kept enquiring at Traralgon. Much later a new price increase but told they would honour all quotes 21 days old or less which I fell into.
They lied and revoked this and are now requesting these orders included in new price rise. Dirty tactics and consumer affairs will hear about it.
Have receipts and conformation to their tactics with no honour/shameful

I visited this company two weeks ago. The receptionist was polite and asked us to wait on the salesman. He strutted from his office as if ready for a fight and it never improved. We requested quotes on 2 large sheds for farms. Some 100k of structures. Almost a week after the “early next week” we still don’t have quotes. I’ve seen reviews here mentioning rudeness. If the salesman can’t be polite or at least contain his arrogance then what hope for customer service? They have a ten month waiting list! Maybe arrogant is how you sell things. Who knew?

My new carport was less than 2 months old when the wind blew in the roller door and smashed the front of my car parked inside. Contacted the company and reported it. They have totally ignored my requests to come and look at it or fix it or warranty their product. It is 2 months now since my last contact and they are ignoring me altogether so I will explore my options with Consumer Affairs

Very disappointed with my dealing with Safety Steel. Poor customer service, slow at getting anything done, had to be pushed along the whole way. The cowboys that they use to erect shed are a disgrace. It's a shame, as the product itself is fine. Try elsewhere for domestic sheds.

What a joke of a business. The drawings are a joke, I wasn’t told about their preferred concreters, customer service is virtually non existent and the arrogance displayed by some workers is staggering.

Buyer be aware the term built to last may only be some words put together.
Buying anything these days can be tricky especially a garage with a roller door.
Please note before you think about buying a garage you need a warranty in black and white.
The roller door may only be covered for 24 months.
24 months says a lot about the quality.
Whilst the supplier is offering a replacement of the roller door they want to charge a fee to install their motorised roller door.
In my opinion the term “Built to last” means customer service for atleast 10 years
The process to get Safety Steel structures, also known as Southern Cross Building group, might need to understand that any building is subject to a building code as well as a fair warranty period including the door. In my opinion, Any guttering should be carried out by a plumber.
My complaint has been lodged with the domestic building dispute resolution Victoria.
It would have been better to resolve this matter, with a degree of common sense, but it opens the door to other issues.
Photos of poor workmanship maybe added at a later date.
To the upper management, “don’t treat your customers with contempt”.

Worst customer service i have ever seen. Do not take any responsibility for there actions, terrible attitude. Please do not use this horrible company. They are pathetic

I admit it has been a long, slow haul to actually see both the stable complex and the five bay garage in the final stages. Never the less, I have found the sales man to become rude, belligerent and dishonest withholding important information. Despite my request to the contrary, both sheds were manufactured and delivered at the same time. The stables were then erected but the garage was unable to be erected until the spa and pool were installed. The five bay garage roller doors, pieces and parts have been left dumped in two paddocks in the weather for now over six months! I can only hope all can be found and is well presented when finished. I would never recommend this company again!

Worst Company ever. They say they will design it for you but the sheds are under-designed. Most of their structures would not comply with BCA and Australian Standards. They have got their own engineer who certifies anything. Don't get tricked by their cheap pricing, that's just the beginning. Also, they are very rude, inhuman and totally unethical. They can cause great headache, STAY AWAY.

Waved us into his office and pointed to seats. Then he was plane rude and failed to introduce himself. Rest of the encounter was generally condescending and unproductive. Went elsewhere to a competitor. Chalk and cheese.

Great customer service couldn't do enough. When the doors were delayed due to xmas break they called and spoke to us about it and discussed other options. All of my family have used this company for sheds and all are very happy. I have since recommended this company to others who have also had good experiences.

Horrible customer service. Building was delayed by over a month because there were no windows. The guy building it (Terry) was plain rude. He would show up and only work for a few hours. Then he and his team would suddenly pack up and leave, blaming the sun, wind or rain. They promised to finish it on a certain day, but wouldn't show up at all nor communicate with us why they didn't come. After the shed was built, they took all the left over colourbond home (that we paid for!). They cut the hole for the top window too big and a few weeks later it was blown out. Trying to get them to repair it took me at least 15 phone calls and a few months of patience. Only for them to show up with the completely wrong materials. Be warned and stay away!
