Safe and Sound Property Inspections

Have now had three building and pest inspections done by Chris. On all occasions he has been quick to respond and very thorough. Saved us from making one very costly mistake! Post-inspection chats were very frank and gave us a good idea of what to expect, options to rectify problems and what issues were real problems/priorities. Written reports were detailed with copious photos, and delivered same day. Cannot fault Chris's expertise or customer service!

I would NOT recommend Chris Wright (Safe and Sound). He inspected a property for us in February 2019 and did not notify us of several issues, two being major. We now have to seek legal advice. Very disappointing.

Chris and I renovated houses together 30 years ago and he knows his stuff. He can not only inspect your property but he will be able to advise you on the best way to make repairs or let you know the amount you should barter with the seller to get a discount for those repairs. My tip with property reports is ask how comprehensive they are. Some people only do a few pages whereas the good guys like Chris do thorough reports with photos too and they have the correct software to pick up everything. Chris also provides unlimited phone backup and is very easy to deal with

As with a lot of inspection agents, they know exactly what they are talking about but sometimes can get confusing. Safe and Sound were great, Chris is a dream to talk to but can be blunt at times, which was good for us but might be annoying to others.

They mentioned critical areas of concern on the phone, but they failed to put it in the report. I called to tell them. The inspector apologised and said he would include it, then later called back after a couple of hours and changed his mind, saying he wont include it because he didn't feel it was important enough. Asbestos, cracked wall and garage lower than soil level is apparently not important enough for a $495 report. A small splinter in rafter however, that is very important to mention. Have not heard from boss despite messages left. Raised issue with building commission.

Quick & detailed building inspection report for Chris & the team. When I first met Chris, he was the kindest to me and really knew exactly the type of house I wanted a property inspection on, even its location within Melbourne. It only took him 18 hours to get the report back to me with annotated photography and a comparison to similar houses. Really detailed and ideal to help you make any 'good' decisions for your intended purchase.

Fantastic service on the phone, sad to see that there were too many issues with the property but it's better to spend $500 than $500,000 on a liability

Chris is a really friendly guy and the report he does covers a lot of things with pics and words. He also happy to talk to you after you get your report and explain things. He used to renovate houses so he's got a good idea of stuff costs to fix too and you can give you a ballpark on a price

Jesse is very professional and patient. He did the building and pest inspection for my first home from 12: 30 and reported his findings to me via phone when he finished. At around 10 pm, I received a 63 pages report from him with pictures. When I ring him in the daytime to ask questions about the inspection report, he was nice and patient. He answered all my questions clearly. I am happy to have him inspect my first home. Although I haven't settled the property, I am sure it will not have major problems. In addition, I could prepare something to repair the minor problems according to Jesse's recommendations.
