I am very disappointed with the way that teachers at this school have treated my daughter. She was not listened to in a situation where her point was said to be heard, but rather yelled over. Considering that this school is known for it's active cultural and religious diversity amongst the students and staff as well as the acceptance and constant instigating with the topic of peace and cultural importance, this situation has personally shocked me when my daughter came home crying. Do hope that other students do not have to endure this.

Its a catholic school, but you are not allowed to wear cross necklaces! Make.that.make.sense.

Not too bad. I've been here for a few years and my opinion on this place always seems to change. Rumors spread like wildfire, and the teachers use them as an excuse to get kids in trouble. Strict uniform rules are a big issue, and this school has developed a bad reputation over time because of incidents involving teachers and the principal.

Been sending my 2 girls here. My oldest graduted 5 yrs ago, so I hv the younger one here. Honestly, I never hv any probs with the school. Feel sorry if any of u stumble with one. They all lovely staff, and very supportive with my girls.
If u complaints bout bullying at school, well 99% it will happens in every school, one say or another. Its our job to tell the girls how to avoid it and how to react correctly. Choose ur friends wisely.
Too much homework? C'mon! U guys are lucky not going to Asian schools.backhome we used to hv 3 homeworks everyday and tests as well everyweek. If u can't handle homeworks, how can u handle the real job later? At least that what I've been telling my girls. It's a tough world out there.

My daugther started at year 7 without much confidence. But the college staff really helped her shine. Now she is year 10 and participated in public speaking comp and interschool debate. We really appreciated the wonderful homeroom teacher and English teachers effort to make her a better person. Sacred Heart is definitely a school which focus on students' development.

Bad. Very bad school. Bullies, teachers that don’t care, racist, hate on other religions, overwork students, lie about caring about you mental health. Overall a terrible school. Worst school I’ve ever been to.

I went to this school 20 years ago and it is on my list of potential schools to send my daughter. At the time most teachers were exceptional, bar a few that took discipline wayyy to seriously and dented my confidence as an already shy child. I came out very well academically but the whole time I was there I felt somewhat in a fish bowl because the school grounds are so small and.yes uniform rules too strict. Guess that’s why I just put my head down and studied & kept out of trouble. Although they do put a lot of emphasis on doing homework and studying hard rather than a holistic approach. For students who are explorative learners such as budding scientists this method would probably stunt their interest. The school under the then principal Tom Kendall had great vision and catholic purpose. They embedded in the students Catholic values including acceptance of each others’ differences, stamping out a lot of nastiness amongst the girls (although there were minor teasing, it was nothing major). I had a reunion a few years back. Got to say all the women there were genuinely nice people. Can someone with a recent experience at the school please provide a genuine review with pros and cons on academic teaching and pastoral care at the school.

If I could give this institute 0 stars I would.

Sacred Heart is the epitome of everything a school SHOULDN'T represent. The very man who governs this school places his personal agenda over the welfare of his own students. Through my time in this 'education environment', the only thing I gained was shattered confidence and a broken spirit. This school takes a holistic approach in squandering young women, and turning impressionable young girls into fragile, insecure and stressed women, navigating their adolescence in fear of the restrictive uniform policy and being targeted on by the demeaning staff at the school.

DO NOT risk sending your daughter here.

My son caught ligma from the icy poles at the canteen.teachers should employ better sugondese measures to prevent that.

My daugther was given an IT assignment to create an online store. She had marks deducted for her online store because she an odd number of products on it (nothing on the assignment says it has to have an even number of products and the teacher refused to review this). Amazing, Sacred Heart Girl's College students are taught that IT systems powering online stores must only allow the owners to display even number products. Well done!

This school is bulls hit. Selfish and self centred they dont care about anything accept money. Want to leave for selective school? Pay up $4000 half the next years school fees. You left? Your sibling is now banned from going to sacred heart on top of the $4000 payment. Never hated a school as much as i hate sacred heart girls college. There is racism as stated in other reviews from both students and teachers. S hit school

This school is outrageous, it is so racist that some of the people i know don't want to come to school for this reason. The students there are rude as well as the teachers. Please improve your cultrual and welcoming system, the school talks about how they "welcome everyone and accept everyone" which is a total lie.

Sacred heart is a very terrible school.do not send your children there, ESPECIALLY if they are planning to try out for the selective entry high schools! The school has a policy where a 2 term notice must be given to leave the school, otherwise you have to pay the school over 4000 dollars (2 terms worth of fees). This is because the school is so greedy.you dont get the results for the selective exam until august, which is the end of term 3.whoever gets into a selective high school, be prepared to lose a huge amount of money.the school does whatever it can to milk money out of already financially struggling parents

teachers are very very unfair here.they do not give you a chance to explain yourself, and are very quick to give you detentions.teachers also pick and choose who they want to give detentions too.i have a couple of friends who have been unfairly targeted by teachers and have gotten multiple detentions.you can always see girls crying at this school with teachers as they are wrongly treated

the teachers are also incompetent when it comes to handling situations, and there is a huge bullying problem at this school.whenever students are bullied, the teachers treat it as a "friendship conflict" and solve the problem using "friendship resolution steps". They have no idea how friendships between teenagers work.when you come to teachers with issues about serious bullying, instead of telling off the bullies and giving them codes or detentions, they just have a meeting with the bully and the victim where nothing happens except "sharing of feelings", and the bullying simply continues

another huge issue is the principal, mr dalton.from the first time you see him, you can tell his smile is fake and he is a cruel man inside.many of the other reviews on the school can prove this.he is greedy and desperate for money, and will do anything to get it out of you.he does anything and everything he can to stop the smarter girls leaving to go to the selective high schools, such as not guaranteeing your daughter a spot for year 9 if she applies for those schools

by year 9, a good amount of students have left the school, which is why there are so many new girls in year 9.only around 9 students can leave to go to a selective high school, but much more than 9 students leave.this is because the school is so terrible.when i was in year 7, i remember 5 students leaving at the end of the year

yes, the other reviews are true.they are wayyy too harsh on uniform! I had my homeroom teacher measure the diameter of my earrings.there are rumors of teachers measuring the length of girls skirts.girls are allowed religious jewelry at school, however the school completely disregards people of other religions who keep bracelets or anklets on.i was forced to take off my cross necklace and earrings for my school photos.future sacred heart parents, i am so sorry you could see the chain of my necklace and that my earrings were 1mm too big, i hope this does not affect your decision to send your daughter to this school! Im kidding.no one cares about that except the teachers

some teachers are very incompetent in what they are teaching and often do not know what they are doing.the whole lesson is spent doing.nothing! I have had unfit sport teachers in the past, and it teachers who know nothing about technology

however, there are some good things about the school:
the workload is relatively lighter compared to other schools.the work is fairly basic and easy enough to understand.there are lots of teachers to support you with your work, however some may be more reluctant than others ("you can figure it out yourself" "thats a stupid question"). There are lots of subjects and opportunities available.the school is very big on sports and getting involved in them, however due to covid this has been reduced a bit.some teachers are most definitely more lenient and kinder than others.when i say definitely, i mean definitely.you either have very kind or very rude teachers, there are no in between

dont send ur daughter here

The amount of cyberbullying I see is deplorable and utterly unacceptable. Please educate your students, especially the year 9's and 10's. This school would've been a lot nicer if it weren't for year 10's DISGUSTING behaviour towards my niece.

This school should be ashamed of how they treated us, and they call themsleves Christian! Just because my daughter (who was one of their top students) chose to leave to go to another shcool (and we gave reasonable notice), they unfairly demanded a whole half year's fees for the following year AND banned her younger sister from attending their school in the future! Absolutely shameful!

Hi, so I am a former student of this school, and I wanted to let parents know that if you have a dark skin daughter, do not send them to this school due to racism she will endure from teachers and other fellow students. Some of the teachers at the school are manipulative and only care about the ranking of students and school in the state, and if you fail, they will be less inclined to help your daughter, and it is safe to say I am so happy I am finished with that school because it was such a toxic environment that has caused me to be depressed and anxious. Best of luck to parent and their children if they attend this school your really going to need it.

Beware of the principal of this school. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing. This is not a school but a private business that places emphasis on its own interest over and above the best interest of your child. When your child enters this school, be prepared to pledge allegiance with your soul as there will be no tolerance of any student who decides to leave it for another better school. Worse if your child decides to try out for a selective school because the school has a deliberate hidden policy against it. I know of parents whose younger siblings were banned from going to this school just because the elder sibling decides later on to go to a selective school. If you do, the principal turns aggressive, takes it as a personal threat, sends you a threatening letter and finds any means to penalised the poor family financially, and make you feel small - cos apparently that's how a Catholic behaves - shame on him. He will make you feel like your hard earn dollars don't matter, your child's interest don't matter and that you owe him a living. Shop around, good schools don't need to stoop so low as what this principal does. Probably why the rankings have fallen over the years and it's just going downhill.

Ms Bilton was an amazing teacher. I don't think she taught any subjects. One time I messed up, did something terrible to another student, and she listened to me talk to her with such great empathy. It was unusual for me. I had just come to her office after being screamed at by another teacher.

At one of the whole school assemblies in around 2016-17, Ms Bilton gave us a speech, and it was amazing. She knew exactly how to get into the heads of a group of miserable teenagers. Some students were almost moved to tears.
I was an unempathetic, mean student. What I needed most wasn't the abundance of detentions or screamings I got from other teachers, but the empathy and understanding I got from Ms Bilton.

Other teachers I'd like to acknowledge are Ms North, for making her classes interesting (I was incredibly bored of school and uninterested in learning until I had her as my teacher), Ms McMorrow, for making me enjoy English for the first time ever, Ms Learmonth, I've never seen anyone so passionate about the subject they teach as much as I've seen with her, and of course Mr McCan for simply lending me $5 of his own pocket money so I could buy lunch on the plane back home from the Central Australia trip.

There's a lot of unlikeable teachers at the school but some of them are pretty cool.

I've been attending Sacred Heart for the past few years and made plenty of new friends. There are teachers who explain concepts well, stimulate students' curiosity and offer their extra time to support students, however some are more inactive in their teaching and overly rely on resources like Education Perfect. The recent upgrade has greatly improved the school's facilities and there are plenty of opportunities to participate in school sporting activities and demonstrate your talents, especially in the arts. Unfortunately, it is true that the staff tend to obsess over the uniform rules to uphold some reputation. I doubt a few cm in skirt length would effect this though. Overall, Sacred Heart makes a great effort to maintain the wellbeing of students with fortnightly wellbeing sessions and study and stress management workshops throughout the years. Note, these are solely my own experiences.
