Saam Saii Thai reviews
24 Was recommended by friends to try this restaurant, and it certainly didn’t let me down. Food was fantastic, and a good variety to choose from.
The service provided was excellent by all, with a welcoming smile by Jemma.
Definitely will be one of my favourite eating places.
For starters, we got coconut prawns and Tom yum soup. Coconut prawns were uneatable, thick, and oily batter, burnt, shrivelled up prawn inside. Tom Yum was ok.
For main, which took 45mins to arrive, pad thai beef pieces were raw inside, and taste below average. Pad king was just average.
I think that Saam Saii Thai is the best Thai restaurant in the Eastern suburbs. The food is always fresh and tastes amazing. The service is outstanding, I'm unsure of the ladies name but she is so welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend eating here and my family and I won't eat anywhere else.
We went on a Tuesday night, half full.
We tried the local beer, which was quite good.
We had mixed entrees, all were good.
5 different main meals and all were tasty and delicious. Highly recommend.
The service was friendly.
Really good Thai place. We had a friendly welcome, the service was quick and the food delicious.
Have heard good things about this place, finally went! Went on Sunday night and there are only a few tables occupied. The front of the place isnt obvious, and the gardens probably need maintenance. At the front there is an area they could do outdoor dining but it wasnt used and looked a bit abandoned when we came.
Inside is quite nice, with that warm lighting and decor that many Thai places do. Staff are friendly, menu has nice variety. We had their coconut rice, chicken pad thai and a special chef recommendation of this fried fish fillet with curry sauce. I like the appearance of the dishes, all looking nice and kinda regal. Pad thai is slightly sour compared to other places, but I like it, has good balanced amount of meat and noodles. Fish was nice and big, had good variety of veggies on it. Sauce is nice but slightly subtle compared to other red curries I have had. Overall very happy with dinner. You can have free refill or rice (steamed or coconut). Price is reasonable for quality and amount. Will come back again.
Above average food. Service fast and efficient, with a friendly smile and very cost-effective. Unfortunately it was a bit cold.
First time trying this place.
Very friendly, clean well presented on arrival to collect order.
Good portions and nice and hot.
Just thought the massaman curry was to water and lacked some flavour. But otherwise ok
Delicious food, lovely owners and friendly, casual & relaxed atmosphere. Amazingly good value to eat in for a family meal.
I got takeway a few nights back and I must admit it was so delightful I had to rate it 5 stars. By far the best Thai by miles in the south east. The Grilled Pork was delicious, the Khao Pad was the real deal and the Penang Curry hit the mark! Well done guys, don't deviate as you are doing it right.
Wonderful food, reasonably priced now. Surroundings not much to write home about but will definately go again
What a wonderful hidden gem! We came to celebrate my fathers birthday for lunch. The hospitality, food and atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommended
Great food just the service was really slow 1: 45 hr for meals after they were ordered.
They seemed to place more focus on their takeaway orders and neglected patrons seated in the restaurant.
Will not be dissapointed with this restaurant, food is so amazing, reasonably priced and service we couldn't be happier, definitely a favourite place for us.
Good personal service (they're good with kids), and delicious food. Love the chicken spring rolls, green and red chicken curries and their roti. Lovely family!

Good food but clearly was rushed when preparing. Roti was burnt. I got a noodle stir fry and had hardly any veggies in it was pretty much just noodles. Great taste though
The beat Thai food I have had. Simple set up with friendly staff. Feels authentic and food was full of flavour. Definitely recommend the BeerLao Lager. Excellent value for money.
I have been waiting almost 2 hours for my menu log order and it has still not arrived! I have tried contacting the restaurant for over an hour and no answer, as well as menu log calling multiple times with no answer. I am 1 km down the road from the restaurant, this is absolutely not on! You're customer service is terrible!
I am a Thai food enthusiast, I work around different parts of Melbourne everyday, and have probably tried 90% of Thai restaurants in melbourne. I have only found one that can come close to samm saii! Basically if you want amazing thai food, served by polite staff you can't put it past samm saii, number 1.
