We recently completed our custom build with Rycon. Having never built or renovated, and with few contacts in the industry, we were unsure on who we could trust to build our family home. On the recommendation of a family friend who has built several times with RBG, we gave Ryan a call. From the get go we were made to feel like valued clients. Ryan and the team helped us navigate the design and pre-construction phase. With the help of Rycon and their associates, we felt we could make decisions with confidence. The team was always willing to help, responsive to e-mails and phone calls, and took our ideas and concepts and helped us transform them into a spectacular design. This level of dedication and professionalism extended into the construction phase of the project. Trades and contractors were all polite and friendly. Any issues or hiccups were dealt with by Chris, Daniel and the team. They would deal with the headaches and only come to us with the solutions. We also had continuous support from Amanda and the office team with our many questions on interiors and finishes. They were always ready to help with ideas or recommendations, and their assistance and input to the finished product was invaluable. Our build completed in November 2018 after 13 months of construction. The project ran ahead of schedule and with no cost blowout. The end result? Amazing. The quality of finishes and workmanship was outstanding - a sentiment echoed by both our own private building surveyor and defect inspector. We are absolutely delighted with our new home. If I were to build again, I would not hesitate in engaging Rycon and recommending them to family and friends. They made the whole process so stress free and enjoyable - which for a working family with 2 young children was pivotal in keeping us sane throughout the build. Our dream was always to own a modern Australian Coastal / Hamptons style house. We, by chance, drove past a Rycon house mid-construction and thought it would be easier to translate our dream using a company who had experience with that type of house – we weren’t personally recommended.

I can honestly say without hesitation, that from our very first enquiry phone call until our last handover meeting, everyone at Rycon was incredible to work with. They not only showed professionalism, reliability and enthusiasm every step of the way, they really cared about what they were delivering, the level of quality and always ensuring we were happy. Rycon’s greatest strengths are their communication, quality and a can-do attitude. Any questions, or issues that arose (which are inevitable with any build), were always dealt with immediately and completely. No-one can believe how stress-free our experience was.

We love, that the end result, is a completely custom built house with all of our personal taste and needs incorporated, along with design and inspiration from other Rycon houses, without an “architect” price tag. We have a very steep sloped block and Rycon has used that to our advantage and has made a feature of it, rather than a hindrance.

We are all completely in love with our new forever house, and congratulate ourselves all the time for choosing Rycon. We would only ever choose Rycon to build a house with again and would always recommend them to anyone who would listen. Thank you again!

We engaged Rycon to build two dwellings for us in Boronia a number of years ago, and were very happy with the project. In such a competitive housing market, we are always looking for things that give the homes we sell an edge and past experience shows that the Rycon Building Group name does just that. They are a builder who is well known for their custom designs and quality builds and undoubtedly this equates to a hugely positive outcome to advertising and sale price. In 2016, we achieved a record breaking price for a stunning Rycon home in Blackburn, which really speaks for itself.

We have recently completed our “forever home” with Rycon.

From the first interaction (site selection and planning) through to the completion and handover, Rycon was helpful, supportive, informative and made the process easier and more stressfree than we ever could have hoped or imagined. No request we ever too difficult and we really valued some of the design “tweaks” that Rycon recommended along the way.

All of the Rycon staff were easy to work with, had an attention to detail and were clearly very good at their respective roles. In addition, all of the Rycon on-site trades were polite, friendly and respectful, something that a number of our new neighbours have commented on.

We are absolutely loving everything about our new home and are incredibly grateful to Rycon for helping bringing it to reality. Should we ever build again, Rycon would definitely be our first port of call.

The KWD team recently completed a home design with Rycon Building Group (RBG) and it proved to be one of our all time favourite projects. Working with Janelle and Ryan McKenzie of RBG was a dream, and we helped them to create their vision for a family home that doubles as a home to take their clients through. It was very important for RBG to design a home that gives their clients a feel for what they can create for them.
KWD loved working with Janelle and Ryan to make their vision a reality – sourcing, specifying and supplying many of the hard finishes, internally and externally. From the early briefs on the project it was clear that RBG was very focused on the quality of the materials, the finishes and the workmanship used throughout the property, as well as the warmth, care and attention to detail that makes a house a home. The whole project took over 12 months to complete from the time the plans were approved. Throughout the process we explored new ideas and were inspired to push the boundaries. RBG embraced all of our suggestions even when we pushed them outside of their comfort zone. We really wanted to make it very special so they would attract a new level of buyer, and they trusted us.
A boutique builder, RBG allowed KWD to help them take their business to the next level in luxury and design, and we felt honoured to work with such a dedicated and honest team of professionals who strive for excellence in all they do. From the paint colour scheme, stone work, floor and wall tiles to the timber flooring, tap ware, bench tops and joinery, RBG were open and receptive, and excited to create a functional and attractive space that was warm, intimate and inviting. We also really admired the time and effort RBG spent on the landscaping of the property as it is so important to the overall appeal and use of the home.
It has been a privilege and a delight to working with Janelle and Ryan, and so satisfying in terms of what we were able to achieve. Rewarding, interesting and enjoyable, this collaboration with RBG was such a success that we very much look forward to working with them on future building projects.
