Royal St. Collins Cafe and Tea salon

Visited all the way from the UK and was very disappointed.
Firstly it wasn’t clear when booking that there is outdoor and indoor seating. When we asked to be seated indoors staff were slow to accommodate and frankly quite rude.
Scones were great, Sandwiches were ok. Sweets were awful. Quite expensive for what we got, ratio of egg sandwiches was far too much compared to to the others given.
Overall very poor experience mainly due to the atmosphere from rude staff - would not recommend and have advised friends to avoid.

Three of us chose this Benito celebrate Christmas, we ordered 3 High Teas with champagne, the venue looks gorgeous and the staff where super friendly and very attentive, the presentation of our food was very nice and all was very tasty, the only difficulty is that the tables are tiny and it was difficult navigating everything around.
Will definitely be returning

Ordered Devonshire tea for one to share and an extra coffee. Two coffees arrived (instead of one tea and one coffee) and they were almost cold. Was going there to see if the place was a good venue for a high tea with friends. Unfortunately I didn't feel comfortable and wanted to leave the moment I sat down. I wouldn't recommend this venue for a high end date with friends.

3 people for high tea. 2 green mousse cakes, 2 choc mousse cakes & 2 raspberry slices. We questioned the waitress & copped a second dose of rudeness. Emailed a complaint & no reply 2 weeks later. Never again! $215.

I had a great coffee in a quiet place. Also had a look at the menu and saw some deserts and high tea options.

Great little cafe in the heart of Melbourne city. The staff are friendly and the service is fast. The macaroons are delicious and the other food items look just as good.

I got there by 4: 30 on Monday and they said they were closed. Please change the information provided so nobody waste time. Thanks!

High tea was good. The service was quick and the venue was beautiful. The tea was a good serving but weak as they removed the tea leaves before they gave you the tea. The food was good except for the scones which where not fresh and not warm. We could have done with more cream and jam. The mocktails where very good and had authentic tea flavours.

Been a few times! For the tea, the dragon pearl jasmine and japanese sencha are the standout! For the cakes, the carrot cake and flourless orange cake are delicious! It gets busy but it’s worth lining up for

I thought the cakes were lovely and my chai latté was of high quality. Premium price but worth it in my opinion. Staff were professional and clearly work very hard.

Wonderfully presented High Tea with incredible sandwiches, scones and mini cakes. The home made jam was divine.

I love the coffee and scones but unfortunately been there today and they said they cant accept customer as they’re close at 0420pm though the website says 6pm, too bad. Hope they will update their hours in the website. Im a regular customer here so definitely will come back i just need to be early.

We went for the mother's day high tea.were told we would have to wait because we were early (even though we weren't) and then had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. It then took another hour for our food to be brought out, and the bread and scones were stale. One of the workers was on her phone on snapchat the whole time. To top it off, the tea was brought out last, after we had finished half of our food. The tea was lovely, but only one cup for the price was less than I expected - especially for the price. I've had quite a few high teas and they often have unlimited tea.
There was also not enough cream and jam with the scones.
Our waitress was also nice. The waitress, tea and sparkling wine were the reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 0.
Surprised at the low standard from this place. Will not be coming back.

Went there to have a catch up with my friend. The dessert was good and the ambience was great. A nice little place to catch up with friend. The service was a little awkward as the table was a little small so the waiting staff was having some hard time trying to adjust the position of the coffee and tea when she serving us. On top that, it took us couple times of communication to make the staff understand we were trying ask about the ingredients for the dessert

Pretty moist carrot cake, coffee was alright, chocolate taste a little bit too sweet.we had some snack here which pretty relaxing and chill.

Cannot recommend at all. High tea was overpriced, scones were dry and inedible. Cakes were store bought and flavourless. Management were not receptive to feedback or accommodating when it came to settling the bill. Overall experience was very disappointing. Save your money there are LOT better high tea services in Melbourne!

Such a gorgeous cafe/ hightea in the heart of Melbourne CBD
Scones were scrumptious, sandwiches mouth watering and the small assorted sweets delicious. Tea pots are just too cute. Friendly service, we definitely loved our experience.
