Royal Melbourne Golf Club

Doesn't live up to its reputation. The condition of the tees, fairways and greens is extremely satisfactory. A flashy clubhouse with everything that goes with it does not improve the condition of the course. Were slightly disappointed.

Had the privilege of playing at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, a beautiful private club in Black Rock, Victoria, ranked top 6th in the World, and I can see why. It boasts 36 holes, has a beautiful clubhouse and fantastic pro shop, and has also hosted multiple national and international events, including the Presidents Cup. The fairways are not always generous and there are ALOT of bunkers. Particularly around the greens, which were firm that day we played. So good course management is key! Quite a few dog-leg holes so be mindful of your tee shots. The rough can also be very unfriendly so try and avoid them whenever possible. Caddies, though limited, are good. Def recommended if it's your first time playing there. Makes the experience more enjoyable too. Didn't notice any halfway houses but there's like a buggy that has some food and drinks, like our food carts in Asia. They offer complimentary apples which I had to try. OMG they were juicy and sweet! Food at the clubhouse is very good. The Pro Shop is extremely well-stocked, one of the best I've been, with very helpful staff. The practice and range are also beautifully and thoughtfully built. My photos really don't do it justice. Def a must-play if you have the opportunity to.

Amazing experience to play Royal Melbourne. Was here 3 years ago watching the Presidents Cup. To play it, was something special.

Was lucky to get invited to play Royal Melbourne Golf club by very generous friend and absolutely thoroughly enjoyed it. It is easy to see why it is ranked so high. The ground staff do an amazing job in keeping the course to a high standard. Would highly recommend to anyone that gets the opportunity to play here.

I have completed one of my lifetime ambition's by playing one of the great sandbelt and world's best course's in the company of three fantastic guys, and one Royal Melbourne legends in the recently inducted to lifetime membership Brian McPhail, also to Tom & David who's company was fantastic, a must play for all golfers. 5 star

Played the West Course. Coming from PK it was great to play a course and be treated to the same A1 conditions we are used too.

The best golf course. Majestic, challenging and welcoming. The staff at the restaurant were fantastic

Played the east course which is shorter than the West but still has some gems of holes.weather was a little rainy but thoroughly enjoyed the round. Brilliant clubhouse with a rich history.

Wonderful day at RMGC with Messrs Mair & Clayton. Also met Gary Lisbon, Australia's premier golf course photographer, over on the East course. RMGC's scale, strategy and wow factor gets the fun/challenge balance just right. Can't wait to come back.

Getting lessons for my 9yo. Take lots away for myself too. Ben is great. The tech is awesome too.

It was December 2018 in Melbourne. The most memorable moment when I went to the famous and historic Royal Melbourne Golf Course to watch the Golf The President Cup. I will forever remember the atmosphere, meeting the idol Tiger. Wood same great league!

There are approx 50 golfers in our immediate and extended family, none of us are having the vaccine, so maybe stick your course where you had your needle!

It looks like the place on earth, where is the paradise.

A special opportunity to play Royal Melbourne. Course in good condition and an enjoyable experience. Staff very friendly.

Great club for kids MyGolf. Richard & team do a good job managing the lessons and fun activities for the kids, to learn the basic skills needed to play the game.

Perfectly presented course which allows for all levels of golfers. Able to play in a corporate event held which included breakfast and lunch both which were excellent.

I remember back in the day when Dr Alister Mackenzie and i used to pull all the golf club chicks and rail them with our golf clubs. Sometimes both of us would do a birdie to a few of them ;-). This guy right here was legend, miss you my guy

Over the years I have had such amazing times and made so many incredible memories at The Royal Melbourne Golf Club. The west course is officially number 1 in Australia and is constantly in the top 5 courses in the world.

They host the best tournaments and the best players in the world and they have the best home members out of any golf club I've played at.

They also have fantastic event management ethics and professionalism and the venue has so many options which are available for private functions such as weddings and engagement party's or for corporate events and community events

One of my favourite places to be in Melbourne
