Rooms International Student Accommodation @ Carlton Residence

I've stayed at both Walsh (2 yrs) and Carlton (6 mo) residences which are affordable accommodation at VERY good locations. The units/rooms are furnished with essentials and the management are very friendly and supportive. (!) AVOID the Carlton residence - the building facilities are old and break down every so often. The fire alarm goes off randomly including 6 am. The lock of my studio apartment bathroom once got jammed and I was trapped inside - I was VERY lucky to have my mobile phone to call the building management to let me out. The management are very prompt at fixing issues but only after the damage is done. Owner Ying Lim makes absolutely no apologies for the shoddy state of this building.

Rooms international is just feels like home. The management staff is sweet, caring and always welcome to have a chat. I have made a lot of friends. This place is nearby makes it so convenient with transport, veggie markets etc. Everything at your door step. I can say this s the best place that I have been in a long time. Kudos Rooms international:)

This is the best place to live with reasonable rent, peaceful environment and it is very close to the city and the Queen Vic market. People here are accommodating and understanding. The staff is very understanding and helpful. They address your concerns and help resolve them ASAP. I am extremely happy with Rooms International.

It's a nice company in providing bills inclusive, personal room student accommodations. For the 2 years in Melbourne, they offer relatively cheaper price than other student accommodations, also providing the basic needs as a student in Melbourne. A challenge to an international student is always the currency exchange rates, however in Rooms, get your money saved for other living expenses. In Bouverie Residence, I am pleased to also get a free wifi from Rooms, though its unstable, but it is still better than none.

Very nice place with reasonable price and great locations. Very bad point is sound insulation - I can hear neighbor's noisy chat after midnight (neighbor's downstairs and in another unit). Managers should have a common board of complaints to remind loud tenants of not doing such activities at sleeping time.

Stayed here for a year. With the people at Rooms International always being so helpful, I highly recommend this student accommodation if you're a student!

To me Rooms International is home away from home. It is a very close knit community. I have made friends from here for a lifetime and I will always cherish it. The management is extremely supportive and helpful if you need anything. Very prompt with their emails too. They have made my stay in Melbourne absolutely memorable ️ If you are looking for a budget-friendly and clean space then this is it! You are looking for it in the right place. ️

I have lived in that place for 6 months. The offıce workers were so friendly and helpful people. They helped me in every case. I was just not happy with room because of conditions and the rent was expensive for me but the landlord didn't make any discount.

Great place to stay, very convenient location close to everything, correct price, the team is friendly and very reactive to fix up issues and I particulary appreciate the cleaning service each week:)

It is a quaint and cozy place, that is near the various universities in the area, close to Elizabeth Market, and close to the CBD area. Depending on which level you live, it might get a tad too warm in summer, but that is more an Australia thing than Room's issue:)

Rooms International in my opinion is one of the best affordable student accommodation. Their management is very flexible and helpful, and their supportive and friendly staff members makes you feel at home. While being affordable they do not compromise on service quality. The way they do the cleaning once a week is praiseworthy, they are also very prompt and punctual when a service is required, for instance, maintenance or repairing/changing damaged equipment, etc. This place made living in Melbourne easier and hassle free for me.

I have been living in Swanston east residence for the last two years and this has been a wonderful experience. The rooms are well furnished, spacious and dedicated to students’ needs and welfare. The other facilities (location, price, logistics, management, staffs etc.) are very attractive. Considering all, I think it’s a very good package for the students! You will enjoy your days here, I can tell you this.

I applied for a room via the Rooms International website, and got an email from them the following day, which was good. I replied, but they did not get back to be for a week before I had to ring them up to ask about the application. The receptionist said she'd pass it on to the manager and they'll get back to me on that day. They didn't. I called them again a week later, and a different staff picked up the phone, told me the same thing, that he'd write down my information and pass on to the manager and said the manager would get back to me by the end of the week. Well, they did not. It's been three weeks since I submitted the application, and I've received no updates on my application whatsoever. Bad management.

I lived at carlton residence for 2 years and my experience was great! The staff is super friendly and very flexible! The maintenance team will fix up any issues and they very extremely quick! Big thumbs up to the management for providing such a smooth service. Moreover, the residence is super close to melbourne uni and the city which makes it even more convenient to do literally anything! Great view, great location and excellent service for international students! It felt like home away from home:)

I stayed here for a semester whilst studying at University of Melbourne. The rooms are very nice and the management was timely & helpful! (Super close to uni too!)

Had my 2 years stay at this place, my requirements are low so I enjoyed the facilities that were given. The office staff are friendly and efficient with my enquiries. The best thing I like is the security doors, they have a security door for my room itself at the Carlton branch besides humble rays. The only thing you have to be very careful of is the access cards, that's all.

Too over priced for what it's really worth and the fact that I've put in so many notices about repaires that need to be done and nothing happened is sought of ridiculous.

The management are alright and friendly but the cleaning staff have taken and thrown out so many of my work supplies its super irritating like they've just thrown out $100 worth of supplies and didn't say anything or reinburse me at all. Also the cleaners bearly even do a average job cleaning the places
