Rook : Sri Lankan Fusion reviews
65 They open only on weekends.
Don't except SriLankan foods to take away.
Always have very less quantity.
Taste was alright.
Quantity is less for the price.
Very slow service.
I don't recommend.
This place has been fantastic every time our family has revisited. The owners/staff are absolutely brilliant and food is always great! We really should go more often.
One of the best food experiences I've had in Geelong.
The food was expertly cooked, delicious and authentic. The only thing I didn't particularly enjoy was the iced latte, and thats because I don't like coffee anyway so I was silly ordering it! No fault on the restaurant.
The service was also good, and the restaurant was clean and tidy.
Good prices as well.
A must have if you're in Geelong.
This gives any newbie to Sri Lankan cuisine a real chance to say 'yes' give me more!
The Poppers are brill and the folk running this offer a serious alternative to Thai and any Indian restaraunt. Leave Melbourne/Sydney heck, even Perth! And eat here.
Service is excellent and defo ask questions and they will fill you in on the how, why and what you are eating.
Will definitely try and get back here in future, sadly they don't deliver to Melbourne suburbs
In short -
Rude service, heat and eat food, Bad experience
In Detail -
Food - Every item in the mains were pre-cooked and they only had to put together and heat it before serving. Lamb Lamprais The lamb curry was scarce and the lamb itself was rock solid. The fried egg was cold. String Hoppers Kottu had the raw taste of garlic and spices and was overloaded with pepper. The starters i.e. Veg Roll, Chicken Roll and Fish cutlets were ok.
In all this is a taste that i would like to forget
Service - Interestingly many reviews have called the Lady at the counter as RUDE. There is no doubt that she is RUDE. Messed up our order and in the end we settled to the idea of having whatever she said was our order! Because we were hungry and had a long drive back home.
Great food, very friendly staff and an amazing atmosphere. Needs a few more vegan/vegetarian options on the daily menu but otherwise great
Food is delicious. Clean and quiet place. Staff is really friendly and highly recommended. Please don’t forget to try their chilies paste, it’s next level. We will definitely go again. Thank you
Decent Sri Lankan food. Menu items are good whilst the pastries on display are sometimes rock solid.
I placed a catering order for my dad's birthday and all the food they provided were really tasty and fresh.and was plenty.people loved the food and hoping to place more orders in future.
Thanks Rook for your beautiful service.
We are two vegetarians, the chickpeas were fantastic, absolutely delicious. All the food was really well made.
Delicious! I wish we had such good legit Lankan food in Brisbane! Yummmm. I could just sit and devour the whole menu ️️️
Sorry no photos I was way too engrossed in my food.
The owners were lovely. We knew little about Sri Lankan food and they were helpful with choosing appropriately for our tastes.
I had a selection of vegetarian curries. My husband had chicken. We started by sharing a vegan pan roll and finished with an award winning desert, which was absolutely delicious.
We tried this place on the after seeing so many good reviews.
It has a nice ambience and clean store. The Latte was pretty good and the staff are really friendly.
Unfortunately, the food was terrible for the price tag. We were told that the chef was on leave so there was only a limited menu. I had the Sri Lankan Omelette which could only be described as home kitchen cooking masquerading as a upmarket cafe breakfast. It was so bland and tasteless and the presentation looked so messy. My wife had the String Hoppers and said it wasn't very good either.
I gave them 3 stars as the store was nice and staff were friendly and I didn't want to penalise their ranking for the fact that their chef was not around. However, they shouldn't offer food if their chef is not around to deliver the best quality as they are just hurting their store reputation. If you're going to charge full cafe prices for your food, your patrons will have some expectations on the quality of the food.
Great store and staff but unfortunately ruined by the bad food experience.
Visited last night for dinner. Nice place. Relaxed, good food, friendly people - would recommend.
Pleasantly surprised to find this option in Geelong CBD. We went in with our kids and super impressed with the options on the menu.
I've never experienced such poor customer service in my life. We felt the waitress had a really rude attitude towards us throughout the whole dinner service. Three things we wanted to order were not available, which we were not informed of beforehand. They even gave us a separate specials menu but did not have any of those specials available that night. To top it all off I was harshly criticised by the waitress when I came back inside (as we sat outside for our meal) and tried to pay for our meals because I did not have a mask. If this were an issue we should have been informed from when we initially walked in to the restaurant that they needed to refuse service.
The overpriced food is not worth the disgusting customer service.
My favourite coffee in Geelong! The order window is convenient and the baristas make conversation easy, even for me as a post-lockdown introvert. Keep up the great service!
Delicious food! My new favourite for relaxed dining and super tasty food.
Enjoyed good service, as well. Can't wait to go back and try more on the food and beverage menus
The Ambience is quite nice. Staff is courteous and polite. Vegetarian options are quite limited. I tried the Vegan Pan Roll as a starter which was really good. Had Vegan Hopper which was a bit of a disappointment. Tasted quite bland.a bit like plain dosa without any salt. Had to order daal to go with it but even that was not so tasty. Will try another dish next time.
The food is very tasty and the presentation is spot on. Service is very good. What more can you ask for? Will come back all the way from Melbourne CBD just for some good meals!
