Rolling Nori Japanese cafe reviews
18Good food, great little atmosphere, not too busy which is great. Bit pricey but not overly so
Good food tried chicken karrage don (I think) and the vegaterian Japanese style really nice shared the dishes both delicious going back to try other dishes reasonably priced
Rolling Nori Japanese Cafe in Melbourne is a delightful dining experience that easily earns a five-star rating. The cafe offers a unique blend of fast service without compromising on the quality of its offerings, particularly evident in their sashimi.
The ambience of Rolling Nori is pleasant and inviting, setting the stage for a great dining experience. The fish used for the sashimi is notably above market grade, which is impressive given the cafe's quicker service format. This attention to quality in a fast-paced environment is commendable.
Their Katsu Curry is another highlight. It was beautifully presented, and the curry sauce had an authentic taste that transported me straight to Japan. This dish is a clear indication of the cafe's commitment to genuine Japanese cuisine. The service at Rolling Nori was lovely and reflected true Japanese hospitality. The staff were attentive and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience of the visit.
In conclusion, Rolling Nori Japanese Cafe is a must-visit in Melbourne for anyone looking for high-quality Japanese food with great service and a welcoming atmosphere. The combination of excellent cuisine, fast service, and authentic flavours makes it a standout establishment.
Still great food and value but incorrect price on the menu led to minor unpleasant experience. The atmosphere is impacted by the construction opposite to the venue.
I would call it a mix of Japanese and Korean cuisine, so delicious. Portions are large generally and they do have also some little dishes easy to take away like salads or sushi rolls. They have many food options to choose from! The place is small but well decorated, tidy and with many tables. Definitely recommended if you pass in the area!
EDIT: Prices raised too much unfortunately, compared to other restaurants in the city. Quite disappointed actually.
A good selection of sushi, salad and small bites to grab-and-go. The prices are affordable and the portions are decent. The service is good as well!
My favorite is the grilled beef sushi. I also enjoy their matcha hot chocolate as a little treat myself on a cold day. Usually, I do takeouts but have dined in a couple of times and it’s a nice, unfussy atmosphere. It’s a great spot for some quick affordable eats. If you’re looking for something japanese and convenient, this is the place.
So f*cking good whattt SO YUM.amazing portion size, super fast and friendly service and WOWW the food was insane.so worth it
Tried the Japanese curry, and it's ok, but found the curry to be too sweet though, never had Japanese curry before this that had a sweet taste to it, and wasn't to my liking. Portion was ok though. Takoyaki was ok.
Stopped in here for a quick snack. We shared the chicken Katsu curry and it was delicious. Very friendly service. Quick, easy and delicious!
Thank you chef!
I went back the next night to try their ramen. It was just ok. I would stick with the curry.
Reasonably priced and tasty food Their chicken katsu curry was very filling! I liked the huge portion of the dish and that wild rice. Tip: eat the salad first so that its dressing won't get mixed with the curry sauce. I found their okonmiyaki thin, but it was still tasty.
Incredibly charming spot, that feels like it you've been teleported to Japan. Great food, fresh fish and a lovely atmosphere. Glad I found it.
Wow, is this place good. Great choice great servings, great vegetarian options and meat eaters will also leave satisfied. I'm back here every week, and always looking forward to my next visit
We were here looking for a feed before the footy, and we're all very very happy. Serves are large and delicious. We had Tempura Udon, Karage burger, Tempura Don and fried dumplings with a couple beers. We will probably be back.
Recently, I've had too much sushi from random takeaway places that I was blown away by the fresh, tender sashimi at Rolling Nori Japanese Cafe
We ordered the sashimi and sushi Bento Box, takoyaki, and the matcha and hojicha milk shake.
Both the milk shakes were sweet, milky and delicious, with the hojicha being our favourite.
The takoyaki was above average, but I personally wouldn't order it again.
The Bento Box was the star of the show, with very tender and fresh sashimi, beautiful presentation, and perfectly cooked sushi.
You can tell the team here put a lot of effort into the freshness of their sushi, because unlike other sushi joints these guys wrap up the top of the sushi on display so that the rice doesn't dry out.
All of that for much cheaper prices than the inner CBD. I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone, and will definitely be back soon.
I ordered spicy pork don. It came in large bowl with salad and rice berry not Japanese rice. Everything was delicious and worth the price. Have free water and a few tables.
Lovely good at a good price. We like getting the sushi available for a quick bite, their hot dishes (ramen and katsu curry)
Very friendly staff, great japanese food, curry was really nice, as well as sushi.great casual little spot to munch down!
Great place, I go there regularly.
However, I ordered 4 sushi rolls and paid for 4 yet only received 3: (
Hopefully won’t happen again.
