Rollerway Newtown reviews
45Best roller skating rink could love it if it was a bigger rink ive been coming here since i was 5 gives a good disco vibe but food prices are high speed skating is good but many non fast peaple go on ive almost really hurt a kid ones cos of that reason and the blades there look cool
Wound back the clock coming back here. Havent been since i was in primary school.
I loved it and most of all the kids loved it to and want to go back.
If your looking for an activity with the family this place is it!
I absolutely love this place I can get whatever I want whenever I want and I can practise my skating without a problem, thanks to roller way I'm up to blades now and I am really good at skating.
Best place ever love the new management and all the new stuff your doing keep up the great work everyone.
Pretty cool little place I didn't know existed until a friend liked the page on Facebook. You can choose from skates or blades. The blades I wore were pretty used and there was a plastic bit stabbing into me but that's what you get when you hire instead of being your own. There's a little cafeteria area. There's some real talent working there with some that really know how to skate, they include the crowd and create games like dodgeball to join in on.
I took the two grandchildren to rollaway Skate Centre last week.
We thought the cost was $4.50 and thought that cheap then realised it was actually $14.50 which is not cheap but at the same time not that expensive especially given they can stay as long ad they like. If however we needed to hire equipment the cost would have started to rise.
The facilities were good, safe if not a little dark. The music was far too loud (95 db) however. There was a separate practice rink and little kiosk.
As part of our entrance we received complimentary coffee vouchers.
Overall an enjoyable morning.
I received a response from Rollerway It was looong and defensive and my review gave it 4 stars-and a reasonably positive comment.
I felt my review was a opportunity for them to say a lot of things they wanted to say.
I never said the cost was high, in fact I thought it was more than fair and said so but Rollaway went into a long explanation of costing which was also fair but really not required in respect of my review.
We did however differ in opinion on the noise level. I claimed a level of 95 dbs which they dismissed. To be fair and accurate that was NOT the average noise level I recorded but the maximum noise level so I apologise for that but the music was also NOT at conversational level.
I recorded an average of about 80dbs
What also has to be taken into account also are position of speakers, distance from speakers, angle from speakers and the natural variation in the song. A ballad is not going to be as loud as say some other ‘rev you up’ type song. Not many ballads were played and neither should they be in this context.
Again I would say going to Rollaway was a nice experience for the children; and I said as much. The response from Rollaway seem rather extensive. I’m glad I didn’t give it a bad review.
I was invited to my granddaughters 13th birthday party here, and it was a pleasure to see all the smiling faces Evan when they fell over
I just had a birthday party there l had the deluxe party pack.
Reasonable price and l l didn't have to do anything.
Today a young male staff offered to help me as he probably saw me I was struggling to get my three children with their skates on. Good service. Enjoyable day.
Does what it advertises - roller slating / blading. It's good fun, and kids had a great time, can feel a bit crowded when there are lots of people skating but you get that anywhere. Free coffee was great, and decent entry price for a family. Some of the games/activities they have during the session are fun, but are started and finished so quickly seemed a little pointless.
Great night out w kids, small place so not over crowded when busy and feels safe. Had party there, staff attentive and very helpful. Has a little cafe, variety of hot cold foods, no coffee though which was disappointing. Definitely will be back though
I feel bad because when ever I'm thinking of stuff to do I never really think or roller skating but I should because it's mad fun! As soon as I enter it's like full flash backs to all the cheesy fun games and stuff, chicken dance, dodge ball, speed skating before you know it 2 hours will go by and your kids will be stuffed. As for the venue itself, cheap as, super clean, friendly staff, great value. Looking for stuff to do with your kids or just yourself maybe? Have a crack!
Great taste in music, PG music always plays. A fun variety of games and always an opportunity to rest
Five star family fun. Hit the rink and show your kids how to do it! Learners to speed skaters and everything in between.
It was an amazing experience. The staff is great and very generous. They let us to try hockey sticks and during the session, the music was fantastic.
We had all the place just for us under a 10 people group reservation.
Games and activities to do during the 2 hours we spent there.
Fantastic experience to share with family, friends or coworkers. All ages and it doesn’t matter that you don’t know how to roller, there is always a staff around happy to help.
Fractured my wrist here lol
Edit: I've emailed the company to prove everything, I have dates, times, X-rays and everything on record, I've provided the exact times which can be checked on surveillance cameras if needed. Nothing is illegitimate, my ""pen name"" is my website abbreviation.
Great fun with the wife with the ability for her to try both roller blades and skates. The team are doing a great job considering the covid restrictions.
It was great. Great for everybody. Large main rink at the front good for people with experience and small rink at the back good for begginers. Skate hire is included and they great quality skates and blades.
The only complaints i have are the fact it is little too stuffy, after skating hard for a bit it kinda feels like there is no air in the building, and.well its not like you can help this, but the much lesser experienced skaters (like 8 and under) always end up stumbling in front of the people going much faster.its only the fact that i have been told by kids and even some parents to slow down because i was putting them in risk.i use the track quite often to practise, but now i don't know wether to go some where else and just let the kids and bored adults use it lol.nonetheless, great facility!
It was fun to laugh at this dude who was falling over a lot becausr he was very bad at skatting and some other dude nearly broke his wrist and leg and kids were being knocked over which is always funny.
