Lecturers are terribly unhelpful. Most can’t answer your questions and expect you to solve it on your own. And it’s not like we have much time to solve it on our own either considering how much workload we get. 70% of the time we spend ‘studying’ is more like figuring out how the task is done, because if we don’t do exactly what they want us to, we don’t pass. And yet their instructions are unclear. Me and most of my classmates failed at least one subject and thus unable to graduate as a result.

My son has been trying to hear back from a coordinator by the name of Astrid.she keeps talking rubbish saying she will call him back etc.it’s been weeks and still nothing.he is meant to start in a few weeks and Thomas is still lost.no knowledge when he is supposed to start or what subjects he has! RMIT has to be the most unprofessional, awful university in the whole of AUSTRALIA! Unless you want your child to suffer from severe anxiety from this mob.tell your kids to stay away!

Friendly and pleasant enough staff but didn’t meet my needs. Started here briefly as a student at the beginning of 2023 and honestly thought the course I’d started studying would suit my needs but unfortunately it wasn’t at the level which I thought it would be at and didn’t meet my expectations. I was particularly disappointed with the disability services and IT department and to find out the day after I withdrew from my course that the IT department had changed their system from not providing laptops to use while on campus to actually doing so.

Thank you to Teacher David at this school and another teacher from the language class. Many years ago, I studied at RMIT. Due to my language barriers, I was once harassed by a male student. The female teacher in the language class provided me with a lot of support. Teacher David answered my questions many times after class. Thank you to all my past teachers. I'm deeply grateful to all of you.

DO NOT ATTEND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR COURSE CANCELLED FROM UNDER YOUR NOSE LEAVING YOU WITH NO FACE TO FACE LEARNING FOR THE FINAL YEARS! WOULD RATHER SEND MY CHILD TO A NORTH KOREAN MILITARY SCHOOL!

The most supportive environment I have ever been in, the teachers are really understanding and they really care about their students from what I have seen. This uni is a bit of a hand holding one but some people need that in life as they just need that little extra support.

Based on my own personal experience, I would not recommend that prospective students undertake a postgraduate qualification with RMIT.
In comparison to other Victorian universities, I found RMIT administration to be the opposite of student-centered and I think it needs significant improvement.
I felt like there was a level of unnecessary bureaucracy passed on to me as a student for basic processes and supports.
I found that simple requests could become paperwork and handballing across departments, sometimes with conflicting information given. Staff were professional but rarely seemed to be able to inact common sense solutions or give straightforward responses.
In my postgraduate course there was seemingly little focus on academic integrity and many of the students appeared to progress alongside me despite obvious gaps in their knowledge of basic principles, it was extremely frustrating. In my experiences, other Victorian universities are much more focused on student satisfaction, academic integrity and quality teaching experiences.
Personally, I do regret choosing RMIT for my postgraduate qualification.

Terrible university, taking advantage of International students and the high fees that we have to pay. I did my course with them and though my last semester I had a tutor who not only did not showed up to classes but also did not listen and did not respect me.

I emailed the unit coordinator as Tom Kovac did not show up to class on time or at all during the first half of the semester, afterwards he started being rude which led to a lot of disagreements which consequentially led to the tutor not showing up to class for over half of the semester.

This was recorded and showed to rmit complaint services, where is evident a total lack of professionalism and an attempt to BULLY a student, nevertheless they have decided not to take any steps to reimburse the money they have taken from me without providing the education that I paid for.

It is ridiculous how they take advantage of us and would not properly assess complaints. Besides having such a terrible tutor like Tom Kovac.

Rui Huo.
My house was robbed and my wallet and family car had been stolen. I asked for a 1 day extension for an assessment since I need to reissue ID's (my mother and mine), bank cards, get insurance claims, and get house locks switched. He set a deadline where I have to get written evidence within 1 business day otherwise nothing will be done. Police only gave me a number for insurance and insurance company was taking a very long time. I asked Rui again what I would be able to do if I dont get the email within that timeframe. He said nothing could be done and i would need to go in person to get a physical document. I dropped the unit, there is already so many things that need to be done after your house gets robbed, i do not have time to skip class to get a physical document, fall behind then catch up on class, then finish assignment while having to sort out issues for the robbery. Incredibly dense and insensitive

RMIT has a 'Fact Lab' that monitors and decides what is misinformation. A multi million dollar business burdening entire generations in massive debt, dictating what is considered 'truth'. I can't see how that could go poorly.
Welcome to the dystopian future.

Horrible experience at RMIT University. My course was all online at the beginning due to COVID (Not the Universities fault) So obviously life changed with that. Now that the restrictions have eased (2 years on) There is no option for me to continue the course online to go along with my work even though that is what I have done the whole time. I was still charged 14 thousand dollars a year TO TEACH MYSELF FROM A POWERPOINT presentation. There is NO viable student support. They do not care about their students. I am now trying to transfer Universities with my 30 GRAND DEBT for which nothing I have received (No support or study tools or location access) But the University is refusing to provide me with the Unit Outlines which I need to transfer Uni's, leaving me with no choice to drop out of my course. This is shocking, I, a 20-year -old, am now in so much debt, because I taught myself from a powerpoint, and they won't even provide me with the Unit Outlines from the classes I COMPLETED, and should have the rights to access. The few lecturers I had were rude and dismissive. I could not reccomend RMIT at all, to anyone.

Absolutely horrible. If your looking to study at a University in Melbourne I'd strongly advise not to go here, I've studied here for a year and all I have to say is that they are unorganised, they have poor communication and very poor student support. If your working a full time job and hoping to study I'd advise not to go to RMIT because I personally found that they are not accommodating towards Individuals who have to work full time to live.

Finding out about a short course was like trying to get blood out of a stone. I called on 2 separate occasions to be told by one, an email will be sent to you with the course information. Never came, yes checked the spam folder etc. Then tried another call and was told to go on-line. It seems that there is no real system is in place. It's comparable to a lucky dip competition.

Teachers get reported and nothing happens. Assauls on campus are reported, nothing happens. No after graduation support and no future prospects here.

You can see different styles of buildings located in the CBD. Some of them are old but beautiful.

Teachers and head coordinators do not care about you and don't offer ways to make you succeed. Biggest money hungry uni out. Highly do NOT recommend. Study elsewhere you'll save yourself so much trouble.

Lecturers are terribly unhelpful (at least in the year 2021 in diploma of IT). Most can’t answer your questions and expect you to solve it on your own. I am writing this in behalf of every one of my classmates who did the same course as me that year, not just me myself.

Great university, great content and it has good pathways that help you get the courses you are passionate about. I wish there was only more financial support for higher education students.

WOW, jUST WOW.
I have never thought i would live to see such a poor quality of education in a country like ours in my lifetime. I
feel sorry for international students who would choose amd pay obscene amount of money to study at this poor excuse for a University. It is beyond a disgrace.
