RMIT Sports Centre reviews
6The “manager” by the name of Harrison and another blonde desk attendant have this place running like a circus while also being extremely rude and overbearing. They take credit card details during the day for bookings, but apparently it cannot done over the phone after 5: 00pm because a magical evil spell is cast on RMIT and the EFTPOS machine somehow doesn’t accept payment over the phone. So if you want to extend your session you need to hike from one end of RMIT to the other end. Literally makes no sense. Refused card payment over the phone then bananas in pyjamas B1 stormed down with B2 asking us to leave as if we were trying to overstay when I literally tried to call and extend the session without disrupting the Match. That’s 8 full paying customers that come multiple times a week no longer coming anymore.
They charge premium prices for tennis courts that are never cleaned. The nets are torn and the staff are rude and have a chip on their shoulder.
Attended a karate seminar utilising 3 of the basketball courts over 3 days. Excellent facilities and well maintained. Parking was adequate for a large group. The on-site cafe was disappointing as they appeared unprepared for such a large group… comments at lunchtime - “the sausage rolls will be 20mins as we just put them in the oven” not good when you only get 30 mins for a quick lunch. Other than that great venue for large sport groups.
The gym is quiet and easy to exercise at with equipment spaced nicely to allow for easy access to exercise. The only problem is that you now have to pay $2.20 an hour for parking.
Pretty good venue to play netball at but you'll have a game fee as well as an entry fee into the stadium so even if someone wants to watch you play, they also need to pay to get in. Courts are in pretty good condition to play on.
Excellent place for indoor sports mostly but they also got some outdoor courts. Went for Footsal games and the courts are very well maintained and the staff are ever pleasent and helpful. Good amenities as well. The parking is another story. Due to the out of university hours can find parking otherwise it's a problem I guess. Also the small fees charged for the entry. UPDATE 31st Jan 2020 - Can't belive in the 45 degree heat the aircon was not turned on. Mind you it's not broken. It's turned off. Now the kids are supposed to play futsal in the courts in 45 degrees with aircon turned off. We could smell the fumes from the floor! And thankfully the matches got cancelled. Then RMIT didn't want to refund the money stating it was not their fault! Unbelievable RMIT you lost a lot of us in this.
