RMIT Bundoora reviews
8 Would like to give zero stars. Money hungry UNI. Worst decision of my life to study at this UNI many years ago. I studied for a Radiation degree and wasted 3.5 years here. The course was outdated due to the practicals not being taught properly. The White lecturers and White students were most racist although I am an Australian Citizen, they could not accept it because I did not grow up here, these people are working in Healthcare. The racist ITALIAN Australian lecturer could not get passed my appearance due to looking Indian. You see, I am NOT from India, have not been to India, I am from another Western country which has all races, so this is ignorance on their part. I was always sent to clinics with bad reviews for placements where I encountered bullying and racism as well as my assessments were not being done, the racist ITALIAN Australian lecturer would not accept my complaint and failed me out of the course hence I did not obtain the degree. Now, I originally came from an Apartheid country in Africa where people of colour like myself were oppressed and denied opportunities, so I know what racism is, but I did not expect to encounter that here. They seemed to favour White and Oriental Asian students probably due to money. I found out the White staff was failing Brown skinned students with an Indian background accept the other students were International students and I was not, I am local. I found out that after I left, the course restructured with new staff and is now 4 years. I now have a huge HECS debt. Do not trust staff here, this ITALIAN Australian lecturer told me that she would talk to the clinics who did not sign my assessments, but she lied, she spoke to her friends the Hospital tutors about that. Staff look out for themselves for future jobs. Study your course elsewhere if you can. There were these 2 librarians one's name was Karen Macvean who was racist to Female students with an Indian background like myself, they would should at us, treat us in an inhumane way, they confused me for being from India, totally disgusting. Just because someone looks a certain way does not mean that they are from a certain country.
Edit: I am writing this because I am fed up of the racism I encounter as a Brown women. I was an average student but everyone deserves respect. People think that women with an Indian background are passive, I am sure they would not have treated a Black person like how I was treated because they don't tolerate racism. Some of the racist people I meet and met here are mostly White women. White women think that they are superior to women with an Indian background and Black women as we cannot have nice things or look better, they have stereotypes so if we do not fit those stereotypes they become nasty and jealous. This was a career change and in one of my jobs where I was the only Brown person and of Indian appearance, I was backstabbed out of it by a group of White women. The racist ITALIAN Australian lecturer R, is now working as a supervisor radiographer at the Western, probably found the job due to connections. She saw me as a foreigner and I think she was jealous because I live in a suburb where Italians and Greeks live and she does not. Oh, she favoured an Indian female student in my class who changed her accent to a western accent and thereafter started sending me to terrible placements to set me up for failure due to not enough placements. I come from an Indian background and a western country but I find Indians from India prejudice to Indians from the West like myself, so highly disappointing. I came from a poor/middle class background and I was supposed to help my parents financially, I grew up with racism in Africa and Non-White people forgave the White people for oppressing us, so highly disgusted.
RMIT a joke of the community! Still asking for waxxin passports even though NO other sporting stadiums in Victoria including the MCG are not asking or required to anymore! Move on already, your embarrassing yourselves!
This place use to be an awesome community park like ground now they will fine you for parking there even when university is on holidays it never useto be this way when I was a student a few years ago. Its a Bit dissapointing when there are thousands of parking spaces completely empty and they still fine you for parking and walking around the school.
Regarding their exam conditions at the race course, they hire horribly rude car park attendants. They man-handle you and are totally insensitive that you have to be in the mindframe to sit an exam. Regarding the exam supervisors, in the exam hall.my god.when I had to go to the toilet, there was this guy who didn't believe I had taken out all the stuff from my pockets. He didn't allow me to use the non-gendered toilets. I didn't have time to argue with him, so I went into the male toilets, and he followed me straight in! He stood right behind me as I was at the urinal! I was so nervous and shaking. The whole exam experience at RMIT was such a traumatic experience.
The staff at the basketball stadium show no care for their jobs and are extremely rude! Well they do have that job for a reason you pay for what you get I guess
Absolutely disgusted with RMIT, they are stopping children from playing sport if they are not vaccinated even though the government have already said kids aged 12-15 CAN play regardless of vaccine status! When the SOE ends in 3 weeks and kids are all back any, what are you going to do? SCIENCE hey! People will never forget which side of history you where on. BoycottRMIT
My sons trains here for basketball and the facilities are GREAT! There are basketball courts, a netball court with all the necessary facilities needed. They also have a parking lot.
RMIT Bundoora is the school of health and biomedical science. The facilities are top-notch with new lecture theaters and up to date laboratories
