Riverslide Skate Park reviews
32Only visited this as in Alexandra Gardens for Moomba and literally happened upon it by chance. But very popular and lots of skaters trying their tricks out, maybe next Olympic champ among them?
Used to go there heaps during me youth. Particularly the old old YMCA next to the state library. Sick times!
I admire any skate park, watching how each individual let's the other have a skate, the encouragement of each other, of a job well done, even sugesting on how to improve.
It would be great to see more of this culture if day to day life.
My favourite place ever, there is a small size convenient shop where sells ice cream and other skateboard accessories: - bit pricy tho.music playing there was fabulous!
Super fun, plenty of ramps and heaps of great people. One of the best skate parks in Melbourne.
Cool place to hang out. The Cafe is a life saver. Toilets are in good condition. Just a bit more shade area would be perfect!
Had my adult/beginner session with Albert and he is such an encouraging coach. It's $20/hour and they're happy to go at your pace. They also provide all the gear (board + helmet) if you don't have them already.
The skate park was great but sadly I snapped my deck in the end but still I reckon the skatepark is great. Ledges, stairs, rails and in the city. Can't ask for more.
This skatepark is well situated next to the bike paths near the river. Its got a lovely city view and great vibes. The flow is really nice. It feels quite layered like its been modified over the years to reach where its at now. The park suits street style with loads of flat and rails. It's got some good pump hips to maintain speed/flow and the edges of the park have good banks and quarters. It waxed and fast! It's hard to fault. Skaters were nice too. The skate shop is also top notch and does a good veggie pie.
Good skate park, but some nights there are homeless people sleeping there and they take over the whole skate park
Great staff on site, a good park for beginners and advanced skaters and/or scooter and BMX riders.
They have lessons too. Good for your child to learn in a safe and fun way.
Great place to skate or ride. Mix of beginners, up & comers to the ridiculously good. Nice café with tables under cover for coffee, drinks and ice-creams. All up great venue.
Awesome skate park always someone there to give you a few tips if you ask the other bonus is if you do have a bad crash there's always someone in the office
that knows first aid so U won't be laying down waiting for someone to come help.
You can rent your gear here. We were travelling and my 5yo just got her 1st lesson here yesterday. Awesome place and decent coffee too.
Hit my first board slide here today and the park flows perfect. It y’all need a drink or a quick fix up for your board. Head over to the shop they got it all
Lessons are amazing. My coach was Matt and he helped me gain my confidence by helping me roll down ramps slowly progressing me to the bigger ones. These are the best skateboarding lessons you could give your kid. The skate park itself is very smooth with some nice lips and bars that can be moved around. They have a transition area, not the best to learn to drop in. 10/10.
Great skating area. People have tons of fun and chill at the skate park. Just make sure that if you have children just to watch after them.
It’s the central skatepark of Melbourne which a lot of experienced skaters visit. It’s also very BLUE
As an older female beginner skater, naturally I was a bit nervous to start getting some lessons, or give a skatepark a go, but I’ve recently had a couple of lessons at Riverslide, and have attended their Thursday night ‘Female Progression Session’. I highly recommend Riverslide to anyone that has been thinking of giving skating a go (do it!), the staff are super lovely and the structure of the lessons are non-intimidating and really fun. 5 stars!
