Rivercrest Christian College reviews
7We left school few Years ago, This school has been Good for kids to Socialize, to make friends and other Extra curricular activities. However, school's oversized classrooms hamper personalized learning, making teaching ineffective. They need to hire better teachers for higher grades.
We had assumed that its a small school so could be favourable in terms of less students, more attention and discipline among students, but we couldn't have been more wrong.
In our opinion and from our experience there in two years.
Its a small school with a small school mentality with most of the inefficiencies including bad student behaviour in the classroom with peers and teachers, a few bad teacher attitudes and lack of handling sensitive bullying issues (they had at that time a joke of wellbeing officer who doubled up as a subject teacher at that time), lack of tackling parental concern, even in sensitive matters; all of that glossed over with new shiny structures, new CRMs and systems in place, privacy laws and unnecessary protocols expected from parents, whilst not following any themselves, when the rubber hit the road. (even in a particularly sensitive student bullying case) IB education was boring to our kid and our kid was one of the best students there with zero to no defaults in assignments as well as effort and behaviours. But eventually things got boring so much so that we decided to Explore other things. Including the immense option and relevance VCE system holds.
Have dealt with administration over the past few years for business and have been extremely friendly.
Being a Christian myself, it’s something that’s dear to my heart.
Great staff with growing facilities.
2 years after my first review we still love the school. Facilities are almost complete to a wonderful standard. Only negative - class sizes are larger than I would expect for a private school. Still have great teachers and support staff. We have experienced from ELC through to grade 2.
Excellent learning environment & facilities for a relatively new school. Teachers are generally capable however the International Bacculaureate (enquiry based & holistic) curriculum sets this school apart from all others in the area.
Great school, sending both my kids there in the coming years. No other school can offer such a diverse curriculum and also it's internationally recognised.
