Great hostel either you are in Melb for a few days or staying long term. Staff is helpfull and the long term group is always fun and open. Would definetly recomend it to young backpakers that want to make new friends in the city:)

Amazing Place to stay if you want to be close to the Beach or in the heart of St. Kilda! Nice and cozy, Beds are absolutely fine, Stacey and the Staff are Amazing! (Btw, Thx for the pancakes after 10am ;) ) always friendly and helpful! Maybe one more laundry machine and a bit more kitchen stuff would be amazing but except of that i can only recommend this hostel and i will definitely stay there again on my next stay Melbourne!

The ritz backpackers is the most chillwst, friendly hostel in st kilda.the staff is great specially the manager stacey; shes really nice and helpful ALL THE TIME.i reccomend this hostel for everyone that wants a low key, friendly hostel.

I wish it was possible to rate this 0 stars. My group of 4 booked this hostel for 3 nights and we couldn't even stay the first night because of bugs in my bed and a mouse in our second room. At 11: 30PM we left the hostel and purchased a last minute hotel for the same price as the hostel. We have been trying to get refunded for the last 3 days and have had no luck. Every customer service representative I spoke to was rude and vague. Today the 'area manager' for this hostel told me "honestly just one mouse isn't that bad, " when I asked for a refund. Avoid staying here at all costs, the WORST hostel experience I've ever had.

Excellent hostel for Backpackers, young environment, alot of long term people. Facilities not the best but the people and the staff are amazing specially the manager Stacy with heart warming attitude!

The best, most chill hostel in St Kilda. Small hostel located right on Fitzroy with a great family atmosphere. Facilities are in excellent shape and prices are lower than other hostels in St Kilda.

Special thank you to Stacey and the rest of the team for making this place so amazing! You guys are the best.

Great hostel we stayed there for a few nights in December 2017 and from that we made friends for life who we still talk too now, great to get to know people and backpackers!

This is not a good hostel, the rooms are noisy, the beds are hard, they lie about having parking and they dont. One of the worst we've seen in Australia.

It is close to everything in St. Kilda and I made a lot of friends here.
Cannot wait to return.

One night in this hostel, the person at the reception is really on top, very friendly, unfortunately, the springs of the bed were right for us and the person in the room who thought he was alone came back at 1 am with a nobody outside the hotel in the room! Fortunately we formed two in the bed a place. This person spent the night in one of our two beds! For those who work before ten o'clock you have to go down to smoke and the same after 11 p.m. Otherwise clean sheets, bathroom and toilet also.

The location is good and the overall facilities are ok. The cleanliness is not very good and the toilets are bad. The kitchen is good and the living area too. There were lots of parties going on and most of the party people did not respect the alcohol ban in the kitchen and worst, the silence hours! In the 3 nights we spent here, we could not sleep for more than 3 or 4 hours as there were loud chats o. The kitchen and corridors and even singing and guitar playing. I don’t recommend this hostel unless you’re in the mood for party all night!

The WORST hostel i’ve ever stayed in. We ended up paying for 4 nights but staying elsewhere after the first night anyway. Noisy, uncontrollable behaviour, bad vibes, bad reception/management, terrible mattress and bedding.oh and you have to make your own pancakes.

Recently, I had a short stay at The Ritz in St Kilda. Its location in Fitzroy Street is very close to many cafes, bars/restaurants, public transport (tram & bus), Luna Park, the Ackland Street shops as well as the St Kilda Baths, pier and foreshore. The hostel is safe and clean. The staff are really helpful. Highly recommend!

I arrived at 4pm Prebooked and paid. Reception was shut. Tulk 6pm I waited furiously.rang the number at the door to tey to book in noone answered. So i rang the booking agent who refused to give me my money back or find me somwhere else to stay for twk nights. The rooms at the Ritz are dirty smelly as is the bedding paintwork and floors. The windows and sills above the smelly old beds are putrid. The shabby old dunas wouldnt keep at dog warm.its one step up from sleeping on the street My dog has better and cleaner accommadation

Amazing staff! The guy gave my boyfriend and I a couple of tickets to the Rugby on our check in! That made my trip.
The hostel is fairly clean, has a relaxed vibe and it's well located.
Will recommend and come back

Recently booked for 3 nights but left after 2 the final straw was a guy smoking meth in the room
<br/>After telling management twice and no reply or responce makes me feel if there was a real emergency it is not a safe place to be. Avoid like the plague

Just to be clear when u say it was dealt with straight away
7 hours after I first told management by texting them while this was happening
7 hours later when i checked out
The guy was still in my room
When I told the zero care in the world guy at reception.
His responce was yes we are kicking him out today.
Like it was not urgent

Excellent place too stay clean rooms. Approachable staff. They offer pancake breakfast. Tea or coffee always available clean showers.coin operated laundry. Friendly guest's if your here for afew weeks you'll certainly make new friend. Entertaining place in the heart of Saint Kilda close to beach restaurants and abundance of public transport. Like I said if your staying here and have any issue's please talk to the stuff. Issues will be resolved asap.

We stayed in Ritz Backpackers for 3 nights and enjoyed it. The bed was very clean and the staff very friendly. The backpackers itself offers a free pool night, barbecue night and free pancakes, which was really great. The kitchen was well furnished, but could have had more cultery and plates. The toilets are usable and mostly clean, depending on which one you use. There are quite a lot french people around. At peak times, the kitchen was a bit too busy for me, but all in all, we were satisfied considering it being a backpackers and not a hotel. Would recommend to stay there.:)

Great quiet hostel. Perfect for winter, free movies, warm, some free food in the kitchen and relaxed guests. Love it.
