Rippon Lea Estate reviews
45What a beautiful historic oasis just outside the Melbourne City centre. So worth a visit especially it's gardens and incredibly old trees.
Kim was our wedding co-ordinator on the day of our wedding, and she did an incredible job! Thanks Kim
Absolutely stunning. The photos don’t do it justice you need to see this in real life! What a beautiful place!
Still need to see t2/3s of the garden still before I post
Takes more than one afternoon to see. Look and discover the history of the garden. The trees alone the front of the garden. I need to find out the name of the trees that to me look old and amazing in the way they have grown.
What is the name of the trees. Once I know wh they r and the history of those tree I can then enter the gardens and knowing the year what year this started and what filled next
So awesome. The estate grounds are spectacular, and the house is stunning. The stained glass in the stairwell is particularly beautiful.
A mansion / estate that was once a residence to Premieres of Melbourne / Victoria, and was later give a heritage status and opened to common public.
Breathtaking! And A Must if you are in Melbourne. No words can describe the beautiful vastness of this beauty-spot on the face of Port Philip
If you are a resident of Port Philip you have already earned yourself a free entry but for others, an affordable entry fee will let you in.
It pays to check their website before going as the house is sometimes closed for special events and you have to pay extra even if you only want to view the house and not the exhibits.
A grand peaceful garden, surrounding the historic Ripponlea mansion. A lake, a folly, a fernery and lawn areas complement the massive mature trees. Residents of the City of Port Phillip and Glen Eira have free entry to the gardens (CoPP might reneg on this deal). There is a modest entry fee to the mansion.
It's like a fairytale come true. If you want to escape this city and enter the pages of a romantic novel, I highly recommend visiting the estate.
Has large beautiful gardens with a function hall at the centre that usually has some events. Miss fischer and crypt was playing when we got there and it was interactive! Has scheduled indoor tours as well that run at certain intervals during the day which is a must do in my opinion.
Good gardens to walk through, little cafe in the gatehouse and tours of the mansion takes you back in time although some maintenance required. National Trust seems to sometimes misuse or wastes it's resources and should take a leaf out of the Nat Trust UK book. It's has good solid bones and dedicated staff but could be oh so much better if they refocused (for example have staff dress up in period costumes or organise afternoon tea days for local social or pensioner groups, decorate the house at christmas in a traditional colonial wealth merchants house style- things like that). Don't forget to visit the stables at the back of the house or the vege garden.
Very nice venue for small wedding! But a limited parking inside. I suggest if you are pregnant, get yourself drop off inside, and your family or friends can find somewhere outside venue.
What a delight to discover! A stately home, magnificent gardens, a lake and much more. The perfect place to spend several hours with the family, friends and/or partner. Just a short walk from the local train station. Highly recommended.
Gorgeous gardens, lakes and beautiful old mansion. Had the makers market there today from 10 till 3. Definately worth visiting, to walk around or just chill in the gardens.
Love this place. Beautiful surroundings, gorgeous decor and this instance an exhibition of Miss Fisher costume and movie props from my fav era Art Deco. Superb gardens
Beautiful gardens for a whole of family experience. Our granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed the "Find the Gruffalo" experience for the younger ones.
Quality venue, food and service! Keep it up guys. Best wishes from Melbourne Interactive Entertainment! Always a pleasure to work with you guys!
Went to Botanica festival, great stalls from candles, ceramic artists, wool wares, kids boutique cloths and a range of plants for sale from national trust and Caulfield South Community Garden, excellent day to amongst 2800 people through out the day.
Beautiful peaceful gardens.
The gruffalo trail is an amazing experience for the kiddies.
If you live within port phillip and glen eria region you get free entry!
Wonderful day!
Beautiful house and garden and you don't have to leave the state or the country to see it. Good to see old Australian elegant living.
Stunning gardens. So peaceful and relaxing. A place that works whether you can spend a short or long period of time.
