We bought a queen bed and two bedside drawers. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in the woodwork were second to none. What initially grabbed my attention was an online search for quality timber furniture manufacturers, which they exceeded my expectations on, but what really won me over was the personable sales person, Nadia. She was awesome! And Retrograde went above and beyond to provide, not only incredibly manufactured furniture, but a service to match. Highly recommend these guys - amazing products, we'll be buying more from them in the future.

We couldn’t be happier with the bathroom vanity we received from Retrograde Furniture! Troy and his team made such a beautiful piece that fits perfectly into our bathroom. We had some specific measurements to provide for the sink being off centre and nothing was too much trouble. Such excellent attention to detail and quality!

Wow, Troy and the team really know how to create beautiful furniture. We ordered a dining table in black butt, with some variations to the standard design. We also asked for a uniform but interesting look on the surface. The result is truly beautiful, full of fiddle back (wavy pattern), but in a balanced way. They have made a magnificent table that we will treasure for decades.

I wanted a custom designed and built TV unit and coffee table.
Troy was responsive to all requests, upfront about what he could or couldn’t do with the custom elements, which I appreciated, and he had a great, enthusiastic attitude towards the project. He worked through my requirements and the design with great care.

The end product was immaculate in its look and quality of build. Troy even dropped the items off at no extra charge.

Would happily use Retrograde again.

I used Retrograde Furniture recently to have a custom cabinet made for a gift after seeing similar items on their website. Nadia was very helpful, responsive and understanding of what I was trying to achieve, and was very accommodating to make it work in the short timeframe I had. I am thrilled with the Mayfield entertainment unit. After seeing it online, it was just what I was after. The workmanship is just beautiful. Retrograde Furniture worked with me on the dimensions and slight adjustments. They had good communication and their estimate for completion was spot on. It was delivered interstate, so I really had to put a lot of trust in them. When it arrived, it is just as beautiful as I imagined from the pictures on the website. What I had missed on the website is that the leg details are gorgeous in real life too! Now I have to save for a matching buffet/telephone stand type thingy.thank you so much for creating such a beautiful piece of furniture that will be admired for many years to come.

We have now worked with Retrograde Furniture to get 3 pieces made, a Mirror and new Queen Bed and they have just finished custom making a new coffee table to my specifications.
All 3 pieces have been exceptional and we could not be happier with the end products.
The quality of workmanship is perfect, and the quality of timber used with all those beautiful timber grains and features are a standout in our pieces.
Troy and the team are easy to deal with, and with the convivence of pick up or delivery i highly recommend.
Iam now looking around the house to see what they can build next for us.

The showroom had some beautiful pieces of furniture which I would of loved to have loaded up as well. How wonderful to find a small scale business which produces bespoke furniture with recycled and sustainable timber. Troy and Blake made and delivered to us a most beautiful Mayfield Double Bed in recycled messmate. Prior to placing my order, Troy invited me to their workshop behind the showroom to see a similar bed in production, and to choose the type of timber look I was after. After the bed was made and delivered, there was a problem with it initially: the slats that came with it were frankly not up to the task. However, Troy and Blake soon remedied that with sturdier slats. (Troy said that they usually make queen size beds, so he'd underestimated what was required for the db). It all happened in a timely way, with plenty of communication along the way. Thank you Troy and Blake, we are very happy customers.
