Renee the Celebrant

Renee Thompson helped make such a beautiful, goofy, heartfelt, and fun ceremony for us that felt very personal and unique. She helped us navigate all of the limitations that we had on location and attendance due to Covid-19 restrictions. In fact changing restrictions cancelled our wedding initially but when restrictions changed again Renee was flexible enough to allow us to go ahead with the ceremony on super short notice. She pointed us in the direction of a beautiful park that we could be wed in where we found the perfect spot under a willow tree right by the water. Renee even wore a Snoopy suit while the bride walked down the aisle! Our big day embraced the reality of getting married in lockdown in a really beautiful way but wouldn’t have been possible without her help.

Renee was attentive and engaging throughout all of our consultations, planning and amped up that energy on our big day. We had a specific, non-traditional vision for the day and Renee was able to enhance the theme with gusto. As a LGBTIQ couple it was important to us to work with someone who understands the complexities of marriage for a marginalized group who have only recently been afforded the right to legally partake in marriage. Renee really understood how important it was for us to not only tie the knot but do it in a way that suited our relationship.
It is an absolute shame that I won’t be able to utilize Renee’s celebrant skills again and I encourage everyone looking at getting married to give her a call!

Renée is an incredible person with the ability to make all feel comfortable on their big day while also making their day as magnificent as they pictured in their minds eye.
