Great range, and awesome service from a team, many of whom have been there for years. They know your name, take the time to talk with you, and deliver the best experience of supermarket shopping you can expect. The range is good, and they cater to the more discerning taste.

This is a great independent supermarket. Lots of excellent quality products and a great delicatessen as well as a wine shop.

Too often at least part of the food I buy is off. Especially when it comes to fruit and vegetables. Considering they’re quite expensive, they really need to improve the quality of fresh produce. It’s a shame because it’s a practical location with variety and the staff are quite friendly.

Excellent shopping experiences thanks to Jerome and the staff, who are always very pleasant and go out of their way to help. Big supermarket chains can never match the customer service and flexibility that a really good local supermarket like Renaissance can provide.

I used to love this supermarket. Before Christmas 2022, I was accused by a female cashier of not paying on a previous visit. She was speaking at the TOP OF HER VOICE and the supermarket was crowded. I was horrified and asked if she was sure it was me. She said it definitely was and she had the "receipt" to prove it. I was then told to stay where I was and she went to find the allegedly unpaid "receipt". She could not find said "receipt", even though she had numerous "receipts" stored in a glasses case. She then demanded that I pay $121, which was her recollection of the amount allegedly unpaid. I was shocked and said I had only ever purchased a bottle of wine or bread rolls at this supermarket and had never spent $121. She again said it was definitely me and there was CCTV footage. I reiterated that I had never spent $121 at this supermarket, she kept demanding I pay, but I refused and said I would like to see any CCTV footage to prove it was me. She started to get even more agitated, so I paid for what I was purchasing at the time and departed the supermarket. I will never shop at this supermarket again. So, please BEWARE when shopping here.

Be careful. Always check your receipt they often over charge and have the wrong price displayed. Not to be trusted.

They have great range of products, especially more non standard ones like several choices of European foods like sauerkraut, rare spices, craft sweets and cakes and special breads as well as a sushi bar and an amazing deli at the back. But I especially like the long term staff members that you grow to know, joke with and almost feel that they are a member of the family. This is a rare thing compared to the hussle and bustle of a busy large chain supermarket.

Good selection of small artisan brands. Heaps of stuff you won't find in many other shops. Prices are a little high though, and make sure you check use-by dates on EVERYTHING before you buy. Lots of things can sit there for ages and expire, including fruit and veg.

I love their selection of gourmet goods. And I'm always happy to find they have a really interesting variety of mushrooms available.

Such a great little supermarket. The staff are always friendly and they stock everything you need + lots of local Aussie producers that you won’t find at the major supermarkets.

And just next door cannings chicken and next to that Red BBQ chicken yummy. Excellent small group of shops. Bread shop.fish and chips.a cafe which serves Excellent coffee and sandwich and a chemist on the corner.what more could you want.

A little bit pricey compared to bigger chain stores but convenient, friendly staff, easy access, has basic day to day requirements, can find most items you look for most of the time, will definitely revisit & recommend.

In 2013 I unfortunately got run over, ended up with a fractured hip. As a result for quite some time I could not carry groceries up my 21 stairs.
I was recommended to see if my local IGA, Renaisance in Glenferrie Rd, Hawthorn would deliver my groceries, deli, veggies etc. As a pensioner I pay a very small fee, order over the phone & they are delivered to the door without fail.
As I have now retired the deliveries continue weekly.
. If there is some product they do not have, they let me know, or provide a substitute.
The service is friendly, efficient and extremely reliable.

Love the range, quality and service. Always a pleasure to shop there and feel welcomed by the staff. A truly pleasurable shopping experience and have no issues recommending.

A good range of everything in every department where I've purchased items. Has a range of items from cheap to fairly expensive. Definitely some speciality items not found in the larger local chains nearby. Staff always friendly and helpful. A touch of old class about it here.

Great little independant type of IGA, it has a huge array of product not normally seen in most Mart's. Beware though, the products are first class as are the prices. If you want to treat yourself or find an up market product to add to a hamper. Go here, they are the best.

Makes my day coming here to see Uba - Hands down one of the best customer service people I have come across. Polite, Courteous and Friendly. People line up for her register. Even though it means she is working harder everyone is greeted with a smile and fantastic customer service. Uba is a delight and can only be a mega asset to this business. All the staff are ace, But Uba is exceptional. Ben
