Ren Dao Vegetarian Restaurant reviews
40My favourite restaurant in Melbourne! Consistently excellent customer service and delicious vegetarian dishes. One of the staff kindly taught me their way to peel the flesh inside a coconut (to eat), a treasured memory. It's always a delight to dine here!
If you are looking for an authentic vegetarian restaurant around this area, I highly recommend this one.
It is run by a Singaporean chef and a Malaysian wife, they are warm and polite.
Came here one night with a friend and left in disgust after tasting fake chicken for the first time. That I thought was real. Never knew what the world had come to
Ren Dao offers a menu with various mock meat options. The decor is inviting and the staff were warm and friendly, but the service was patchy with the tables often unattended and food served intermittently. Flavours were okay, but the food really oily and very heavy.
Variety vegetarian/vegan options, great service and amazing food. Generous, portions and reasonably priced
Lovely vegetarian restaurant. Good service and delicious food. Great for people who don't eat meat.
Delicious vegetarian meals, byo wine
Good atmosphere, good location close to Elstenwick train station
One of the best vegan restaurant in Melbourne for friends gathering or a treat to yourself. The owners are super humble and lovely people and have been working on this restaurant for over 11 years. You can really tell they put effort and love in the food. Highly recommend!
We popped in after a movie last night and were absolutely treated to first class very friendly service and really spectacular food.
To be honest, this restaurant is the best! Dishes and customer services are number one. So enjoy here!
Delicious vegan food, keep in mind that sizzing hot olate beef (vegan) doesn't come sizzling on a hot plate, the mushroom dish does however. Highly recommended it tastes fantastic in thr tastebuds.
Tasty food and nice ambience. Probably one of the best Vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne. Tamarind Fish which is chef's special comes highly recommended. Can be a bit pricy for some dishes though.
Had high hopes based on the reviews however the food was average and the prices astronomical in comparison to portion sizes. We were also extremely put off after being told there was a minimum spend. I don’t want to be told how much I need to spend when I walk into a restaurant. I’ve never heard of such a thing.
Plaster this on your front door along with your menu before trapping customers.
The food looks great but doesn't taste good. Everything is awefully chewy and gelatinous. And the prices are expensive given the mediocre taste
Definitely one of the better Asian vegetarian restaurants in Melbourne. Quality, authentic Malaysian/Singaporean dish. Prices are reasonable. Will be back for sure.
FANTASTIC! Been there 3 times in the last month, amazing everytime.
Don't let the vegetarian part scare you, it's amazing for all tastes.
Really!
Even if you aren't vegetarian the food here is great, serving sizes are quite generous and friendly service. Would recommend to anyone.
Honestly can't believe it isn't a 5 star review on every platform. Can't go wrong for vegan/vegetarian dining here definitely a Melbourne gem.
As a vego I really wished Ren Dao would be as good as it was some years back. Had a shocking meal 6 months ago but decided to give them another go tonight. Food delivered 20 minutes late by Uber. The entrees were tiny, cold and tasteless. Overcooked and greasy. The Tom Kha soup didn’t vaguely resemble one. It was a bowl of laksa stock with nothing in it other than some tiny pieces of mock meat and what seemed like dehydrated vegetables you get in camping food. Sorry Ren Dao but it’s time it’s goodbye forever
