Redwood Forest reviews
66 Cement Creek Redwood Forest, located in the Yarra Ranges National Park about 90 minutes northeast of Melbourne, has become an increasingly popular tourist destination in recent years. The standout feature is the Sequoa tree planting area. California redwood is enchanting. The dense, straight-lined, towering forest that is hundreds of years old has created a unique attractive beauty for the entire forest.
Redwood Forest is very convenient to visit for the whole family. Easy to get to with ample parking, however, quite busy in summer, no restrooms or food service available… A truly beautiful walk through the forest crossing a small stream was an extremely interesting experience.
Very pretty little sequoia forest accessible by public transport (bus 683) if you don't have a car! Enough to take a little walk and have a picnic sitting on the ground.
A walk, starting from the car park and going around the site, is present but without indication so avoid getting lost.
Be careful, however, there are no toilets, no designated picnic area or even shelter, no trash cans and no network on site.
This place is absolutely beautiful. It’s so big so every time you go it feels like you get to see something new. The nests of fallen branches are really amazing and the creek running through is beautiful! Perfect place to spend the day and have a picnic
Came twice, had to go home dissapointed both times. Over 10 months to build a bridge? !? You're joking, i hope the people building it dont get paid.
Didn’t get to go due to being closed hopefully can go there and walk the track when it’s finally open
Passed through Warburton. Electronic sign board along road states 'closed'. Looks like the bridge is still under repair/construction.
Website says open but road is closed still. Disappointed it was closed. Rating is for the Forest, still a great place to take visitors.
Amazing place not far from Melbourne. The forest made me think of the forest in which Hansel and Gretel walked.
Arrived in a sunny afternoon, very bright, but looking at the forest, it was all dark. Very pleasant experience. A must for nature lovers.
Only a small, gentle walk suitable for all ages.
A unique location with short walks, amazing photographing and majestic vibes. Gets a bit crowded at times with picnics, wedding photographers and big fams. Nevertheless, there is always a spot to take spectacular pictures. Plan your trip.
The redwood trees forest is small but looks quite out of this world due to the organised arrangement
It's a nice area to visit for the first time. Not a lot of people when we came there. Thought it would be bigger but we loved the canopies and the arrangement of the trees and good to explore the surrounding ares too next to the stream. Although there wasn't any wash rooms or public toilets around, I would have marked it a full 5 stars.
A gorgeous and unreal plot of forest! Excellent for exploring or walking around mindlessly. Go in the morning to avoid crowds. Lots of trails to follow. The path is uneven at times, so would not recommend for anyone who is not sturdy on their feet. Good shoes a must in case it is a bit wet. Bring your camera!
Out of place and probably wouldn't be allowed today but beautiful. Creates a high contrast to the native bush that grows right up to the edge. The branches pruned have been stacked into huge bird nests that everyone including the kids seem to love. There was also a mobile coffee and hot food van there.
Absolutely beautiful! There was a bit of rubbish laying around, I wish people would clean up after themselves, but I can hardly blame the forest for that!
Very beautiful and make sure to wear gumboots for kids, very slushy and the walk to the river is just fantastic
Really cool, the layout of the trees was a little trippy! The 'dragons nests' were a little disappointing, but might keep young children interested, I don't know.
Such an amazing nature. I always love it here. Feeling calm and so small especially when I have a problem or a lot going on and I come to this place, I always feel like my problem isn't so big after all.
Absolutely beautiful, The trees are huge and so neatly line with each other. Small little birds through the forest. If you hunt around you may find some toad stools, Mushrooms
Beautiful forest and creek. Spoiled a little by lack of rubbish bins so people just chuck their rubbish in the bush. But then it could just be the uncouth people whom attend. The other irritation was the coffee truck, who’s generator could be heard well into the forest - spoiled the reason for driving out of the city to enjoy the majesty of nature. Nevertheless a cool little place to explore. I would return again (with noise cancelling headphones)
Stunning trail through the Redwoods and down to the creek that feels completely wild and prehistoric. Definitely worth the visit and amazing for those stunning photo shots through the trees and rays of sunlight coming through.
