Red Rock Charcoal Chicken reviews
23Best charcoal chicken and chips ever. Recommend getting your chicken and chips here, because no where beats this place.
Cannot believe there are bad reviews about the food. Have ALWAYS had good chicken and good chips. The shop is always immaculate and the way the charcoal browns the chicken takes me back to my childhood of OG chicken and chips.
Yeah not good. I've just moved to the area and was really hoping this would be a new fave. So disappointing. Chicken was very dry and smelled like ash. The chips were rubbery. Coleslaw was good and scallop potatoes were OK.
Disgusting hsp, not enough salt, didnt offer cheese and when asked after payment went through said its a dollar extra.no chicken on hsp, ridiculous price too.garlic sauce is tzatziki, not traditional hsp garlic sauce.also not enough bbq sauce.
The chips were not as good as i expected, unsalted and a bit stale, potato cakes were okay
Had lamb suvolaki there today, really disappointed with the taste of Lamb suvolaki and very expensive too. On top of that the young bloke at the register didn't gave a good customer service. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN.
I read the poor reviews from some people but I've never had a bad chook. Ive been lucky before to get one straight off the coals which was awesome but still, even from the bain mare they've never been dry or inedible. Looks like they only cook a smallish batch at a time so I can't see how a chook would dry out unless it was a slow chook day
Certainly not the cheapest but I'd call it reasonable. Small but good variety of salads too.
The chips are hit and miss, sometimes crispy, sometimes soggy but usually well seasoned.
Had the quarter and half chicken a few times but it's always dry.
Relatively expensive for a local, pretty easy to reach the $10 min EFTPOS
Always great service and great quality food. Our chips are always fresh!
We stopped buying via Menulog and ordering direct as the prices were so inflated and Menulog failed to deliver on a number of occasions.
While you can't get it delivered if you can pick up order direct for better prices and better quality, so much fresher!
Pretty horrible in a few ways.
1) the chicken is Extremely dry
2) min $10 eftpos during a pandemic? When I said I had to use card the guy was rude and didn’t say thanks or goodbye
3) overpriced. $7.50 for a 1/4 chicken is ludacris, especially when the chicken is old and dry
Friendly Service is about the only good thing I can say about my experience.
$21 for a small chips & Souvlaki
Re heated sub standard meat, small portion not fresh, chips are ok but I mean how hard is it to dump some chips in oil & throw some salt on them.
Absolute RIP OFF.charged me $ 18 for a drink, 2 pieces of chicken and a small salad.should have been about $ 10 at best. NEVER AGAIN.
We tried this place last week for a souvlaki, it was amazing! We had another last night and it was just as good! Chunky bits of lamb, not dry, very tasty. And amazing customer service… definitely will be a regular here…
The 1/2 chicken we had was quite dry and flaky, and we did not end up finishing it. The skin was nice, but the stuffing and meat is quite bland.
The chips and salad are alright, I would steer clear of the chicken.
Always found the staff at this charcoal chicken very friendly especially the owner. Delicious chips. Definitely the nicest one in Rowville.
Me and hubby came in and got 2 lamb gyros with extra meat.you would expect a decent size yes.but not the size of a 7 Eleven wrap and $42 later. Never again
I wish i could give minus stars. Lamb was chewy and flavorless. Inedible. Around $7 for the tiniest tub.
Was $5 for about 25 chips that tasted reheated. $4 for a tiny little gravy, and $4 for a 500mL water.
Im literally considering calling consumer affairs.
Went in the other day and got a dinner pack and a coke.got served by ryan and he was absolutely lovely.helped me figure out what i wanted.didnt think i wanted chicken when i walked but he changed my mind.all around beautiful place.cant wait to go back and visit ryan. <3
My partner came in yesterday he has food poisoning today he got the ceaseer salad
Absolutely shockin never seen the poor block so crook
Apparently service with a real smile is dead. A wing quarter must mean I want a bloody leg. Somehow we got a combo of soggy chips and powdery chips although the serving size was huge. Unlike EVERY other chicken shop we've been to, replacing the potato's with chips in the dinner pack is in the too hard basket for this lot. Probably the worst pineapple fritters we've ever had too. Hope this was just a bad day for them, otherwise, steer clear.
