Rare Steakhouse Downtown

Great venue for great steaks. I was here the other for a work lunch. It was perfect. Lovely service and my steak was perfectly cooked. Always get the chips! Love it

I go here only once a year to catch up with some business colleagues but wish it were more often as I always leave satisfied! Great food, friendly service and the atmosphere is always a hubbub of people enjoying themselves. Only been to the downtown restaurant but would be confident the midtown and uptown establishments are just as good:

Very good steak! This will be my go-to from now on! Cocktails are also great and don't forget their sticky date pudding

The waiters are attentive and provide good services. But the steak took too long. More than an hour after taking the orders. Was not too full then.

Lets start with food,
The quality of food is great. Everything were fresh. We ordered entrees for two ($40), which was good and tasty. Was a little bit expensive.
Our steak was perfectly cooked. However It needed more salt and paper. It was also a little bit sweet, which was weird for me and my partner.
The atmosphere was also okay.
Staff were friendly, polite and welcoming.
Its a 4.5 restaurant, however there is no 4.5 so I give 4. Its not 5stars because I expect more when u pay $$$.

Outstanding eye fillets and sweet potato fries, the staff were lovely and the desserts excellent as well

Came here for an anniversary lunch with my partner. Originally had the T-Bone steak medium rare and the Scotch fillet on a medium. T-bone was really chewy and I had notified the manager who graciously got us another steak which was the Eye Fillet medium rare. Highly recommend the Eye Fillet and the Scotch fillet with creamy garlic sauce on the side!

Do get the sorbet for dessert. So refreshing! But don’t get it with the spirits.

Thank you to the friendly staff that made our lunch super enjoyable.

Absolutely perfect steak night. Couldn’t improve on a single thing. Delicious meal, lovely staff. Can’t wait to go back.

Great steaks! We had the eye fillets and scotch fillet, cooked to perfection. And the service was very attentive and friendly, would definitely go back again.

Had a great experience at rare steakhouse downtown. Went for a 21st birthday celebration and was greeted with great hospitality, food, drinks and even a birthday candle and song. Would definitely come back and recommend to others. Thanks for a great experience.

Beef, anyway you like. I rather enjoyed the entree with oysters natural and kilpatrick, crispy calamari, scallops with chorizo. Dessert was acceptable without being a standout.

Wonderful to be back at Rare and enjoying the tremendous food. Lauren was marvellous looking after us, Steak's were magnificent and Expresso Martinis top notch.

There is no better steak or ribs in Melbourne than Rare's.

I normally do not write reviews, however, I felt as though within this experience, I must. Everything was absolutely superb - from the staff (our waitress was named Amy, she was lovely) to the food and to the chefs. Compliments to them all - they have made the whole experience worthwhile - my friend and I will most definitely return.

This place never fails to disappoint. Everytime I go here - the service, food & overall experience is always great & consistent. I can definitely vouch for their steaks - cause it's what I always order every time. I should try something different next time, but they are called Steakhouse for a reason & one can never go wrong with a good steak. Can't wait for my next visit

The customer service here is fantastic and very accommodating to the customers.

The food is equally as good and not too expensive for a luxury dining of steak compared to others.

Rare Steakhouse definitely did not disappoint and exceeded our expectations with their level of service, ambience and most importantly, the food. Their eye fillet steak was tender, succulent and cooked to perfection. Paired excellently with a glass of red. Super excited to check out their two other locations in Melbourne!

Love this restaurant - food was delicious from the oysters to mushrooms to eye fillet. Cocktails were also so drinkable and strong. Modern interior over three levels and great service. Highly recommend
