Ramen & Dumpling House Mt Waverley reviews
61Not sure if there is new ownership here, but having been a regular for many years, the food didn't appear to be as good as previously. The service was below par, having to ask for water, tea to be topped up and rice to come whilst eating the first main course.
I recently visited this restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was rather disappointing. The customer service was exceptionally poor - after a long wait, I received my order in a takeaway bag despite intending to dine in. The staff forgot key condiments like chilli oil and soy sauce, and when I requested them, the response was not only rude but dismissive.
To make matters worse, the dumplings were undercooked, and the taste was dominated by an unpleasant doughy flavor. It's disheartening when a restaurant falls short on both service and quality. While the area offers numerous dining options, this particular establishment left me thoroughly disappointed. I wouldn't recommend it, especially if you value good service and well-prepared food. 1 star sadly.
Had the black pepper chicken and fried egg rice, absolutely delicious and for less than $20 great value
Tasty, "Wok-hi" food with good price.
I love the dumpling here as a side dish as they have good skin texture.
Those dishes on Wok are must-try ones!
Got takeaway.
Char kway teow, satay chicken and their famous pan-fried potstickers.
All the dishes had great flavour and weren't too greasy. Great value takeaway. Favourite was the char kway teow, although the beef was a bit tougher than expected.
Will be back nonetheless, great service and attention to detail in food preparation.
The only negative thing I can say about this place is that the chairs don't have great lumbar support but anyone with a normal back would say the chairs are fine
The food was so fresh and on fire! Delicious, cheap.happy gal
Spicy beef noodle is ok, portion and price are reasonable. I will eat here again when in the area.
Went there as nothing else was open on Saturday afternoon. An unassuming place from outside and a no frills restaurant inside. We ordered Pork dumplings, Kung pao chicken, stir fried lamb strips with ginger and some steamed rice. The first surprise was the large serving of each item. The next was the amazing flavours. We usually avoid lamb but this was so beautifully prepared and so flavourful. We were like we don’t need anything with this and we can just sit and eat this on it’s own. The kung pao chicken was even more flavourful if that is possible and a pretty decent helping too. The dumplings were crispy and juicy and yummy. Due to the large helpings there was enough for 3 of us to have for dinner too. A must visit place for their divine food. We are going to try their fried rice next time as that looked quite yummy too on the other table
Amazing service and large serving sizes. Great value for money and super tasty food. Will be back.
Busy place with good food on very hard seats that are squeezed in tight for maximum seating
Food quality is OK. Price is reasonable. Tried the new Wagyu beef dumplings, Shanghai fried noodles, etc. Small restaurant with extra 2 tables outdoor. Busy with lots of takeaway orders.
I took my granddaughter's here today. The service was super quick, and meals came out within 10 minutes. We all enjoyed our meals.
Felt sick afterwards. Full of oil. Chicken and prawn dumpling all minced up and who knows what is actually inside. Never again!
What a nice cosy little gem.
Small cosy style, hardwood thin tables and ambience looks so traditional.
Great value for money.
We had booking so we were quickly seated. Considering it was week day it was busy.
1st thing we got on the table was complimentary hot tea. This adds to traditional. Impressive.
All our dishes were cooked to perfection.
The high light was veg stir fry which was the best I had in any restaurant. All veggies thinly sliced, cooked perfectly to leave little crunchy. Simple cooking at best.
My son and daughter loved the dumplings and fried rice.
We promised our cousins to take them next time at this place.
Highly recommend everyone to visit this place.
Kind and humble staff.
Great service! The male who served us was so nice and bubbly. Really really nice. Will definitely come back again
Value for money, and the taste was average. Fried rice wasn’t bad, even though I found it has a quite usual combination of both chicken and beef. However the pan fried dumplings were not up to the standard with sticky wrap and overcooked pork. Not a fan. The owner and staffs were nice and attentive.
What a disastrous experience! Don't know how people can even eat at this place. This restaurant is franchised. The chefs here doesn't have any work ethic and lacks of cookery skills compared to the chef at the Wheeler's Hills franchise. The food at this restaurant is full of salt. We cannot taste any form of freshness in the quality of the food due to the overload of the seasoning in their food.
Furthermore, the food that we have ordered did not match the menu. We have asked a staff member to speak to the manager as we believed we were given the wrong this. Unfortunately, the worker cannot assist us as he doesn't know who the manager is nor who his employer is. We were baffled to hear this comment.
We eventually spoke to another staff member can explained to her that the dish is not correct and presented her with a photo evidence of the same dish at the Wheeler's Hills franchise, the photo we presented matched the photo on the menu at this restaurant. The dish was sent back to the kitchen and on request, we have asked for the correct dish to be made that matched their menu and their photo. The dish that came, did not match and tasted horrible. At this point, we did not bother telling them again as it was pointless. Lastly, the waiter that took our order have put in the incorrect order and we have had dishes that came out that was not what we ordered.
The lady was extremely rude! When I was paying the bill, I mentioned that one of the dishes was too salty. The lady became irritated and replied impatiently: "What do you expect me to do? " and then she just ignored me. Very bad experience. Absolutely not recommended.
Oooft absolutely smashing dumplings, even writing the review I am craving these again.
Super friendly and welcoming staff, and their food is made fresh for you!
If you're ever craving some dumplings in the Mount Waverly region, this is one to hit up.
Whilst in the area for an appointment with another local business, we thought we'd spend the wait time supporting hospitality. This restaurant was buzzing from the moment we walked in the door, cosy and warm inside.
We were greeted instantly and seated quickly, tea on the table, very impressive. Had the sweet and sour pork with dumplings, both dishes were delicious and well portioned.
There was a mix of takeaway and dine in patrons, the staff were kept busy at all times. Enjoyed my experience and would definitely dine in again.
