Radhey Chai Bar reviews
51I love their lentil moussaka and the vegan lasagna. The salads are also fresh and abundant. Their ‘Classic’ chai is real spiced chai, and all the flavoured chai are the Classic with flavoured syrup added. You can even get the chai iced and with ice cream.
Radhey Chai Bar is the best thing happening on Brunswick St by far. We've been 3 or 4 times and the meals are super tasty, service is really cool and relaxed and ambience welcoming. We recommend Radheys to all our friends.
Came for the chai. The chai is nowhere closs to being authentic and it's boiling hot.
If you want an Indian authentic chai. DON'T COME HERE
Travelled 20kms just to get truly authentic Indian Chai.
As the name says Radhey chai bar, I was expecting menu to be something like adrak chai, ilaichi chai, masala chai and others chai.
It's more like a radhe vegan bar, not chai bar.
And the chai was NO where close to Authentic indian Chai.
Disappointed.
I was quite surprised a ‘chai bar’ is serving chai which is not authentic. If you are expecting or used to authentic Indian masala chai I do not recommend getting the chai here. It tastes watery & like it’s made from a powder. The food looks nice, veggie & vegan options, but I didn’t try it. I went there for the chai & was disappointed.
Such a beautiful place, great vegetarian and vegan food, an incredibly warm ambience.
We had samosas and chai - both were excellent and authentic
Lovely staff!
My favourite is the chai tea, which they prepare on the spot!
Love their vegan lasagna ($4,50) and the arancini ($4 only!)
The “not so hungry” option is huuuge! Their salads are always fresh!
Forty minutes for a pot a chai, my order was instantly forgotten. We had to remind them. Then came the most blandest indian spices tea that was boiling hot. Never again. This isn't a place of good chai at all.
I live just down the street and this is my go-to when I don't want to cook. Delicious, healthy vegan food at an awesome price.
A mish mash of slop, like a wet sock. Vegan food does not need to be this bland. Lacks love and care that you get from proper Pure Veg indian places. Its just a mish mash of watery vegetables. Potato and pumpkin so undercooked, it was very crunchy in the curry. I'd avoid this place.
The rice was good but the Thi Green Curry would be better described as Bland Green Stew and the Spicy Tofu Curry should be called Tofu Stew with absolutely no spices. One has to wonder if this establishment even knows what the words "Curry" and "spice" mean.
Tasty food at a good price in a nice environment. It's air conditioned inside (important on a 42 degree day like today) and the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a range of predominantly vegan curries, salads, and savoury options, plus a nice collection of cupcakes, brownies, and cakes if you want something sweet. We recommend the kofta balls and spinach curry.
Casual spot for a delicious meal or a tea/smoothie/lassi.
The food is all vegan and all delicious/quite authentic. I loved it.
I recommend.
(Also has wifi).
I eat here 5 times a week. I live around the corner and it's my local favourite. As a foodie - what greater compliment can I possibly give? This place has the most wonderful atmosphere. Chilled spiritual vibes. With free wi-fi to get your work done when needed. And it is ridiculously affordable - Not So Hungry Plate is for only $10 fills me up so much - has me taking food home sometimes. And I've noticed that I come here for the convenience too, food is freshly prepared and ready to eat from the display - no wait time for my meals. Love it. Thank you Radhey and the team here. Without you, my life wouldn't be the same. Hence why I eat here at least 5 times a week.
Large servings of tasty food. The rice, curry and vegetables were wonderful. The samosa was too salty. Spinach and cheese pie was very salty too. Arancini was average. Price was reasonable.
Amazed to know this place exists. Superb food and good customer service. Highly recommend for vegans and vegetarians.
Have been back a few times but servings are very small compared to when it opened. Good food but won’t be back.
When I write my own dictionary, HEAVEN will be defined as their chai cheesecake! No words can describe
I love the tea, food and vegan sweets at Radhey. They provide great value for money. A step up from Crossways and Gopal's but very similar vibe. If you order a drink, go for the cinamon or turmeric chai which are slightly more interesting (but not more expensive) than the standard blend and pair wonderfully with a vegan cheesecake. I love the vegan platter which leaves me super full and contains a good variety of dishes (plus a nice semolina and date dessert). My coconut korma was more spicy than it was flavourful, making it a bit tough to stomach. But everything else (tomato koftas, chickpea salad and sweet potato salad, topped with tahini) were great. Also love that there's complimentary mango pickles on every table. A great cheap eats destination if you're in the area.
Absolutely outstanding a flavourful food. Really good portions for money. Flavours were amazing, it lacked nothing at all being vegan. Will be visiting again and again.
