Queen's College reviews
9 Queens College
Queens College is a bit of a dive, The food is cheap but the portions are small, The service is slow and the staff are rude, But the atmosphere is warm and the wine is cheap.
The pasta is always al dente, The pizza is always fresh and hot, The risotto is always creamy, And the tiramisu is always delicious.
So if you're looking for a cheap and cheerful meal, With a bit of a rough and ready atmosphere, Then Queens College is the place for you.
Just don't expect to be treated like royalty.
My wife and I visited Melbourne just last week, and Darren said you simply cannot leave without dining at this fine establishment. Boy was he right! Authentic. Intimate. Bellissimo. Despite the large portion, I devoured my penne al ragu and Cheryl absolutely adored her margarita pizza. You won’t find Italian cuisine like this in Geelong! The wine selection was also exquisite: I had to ask where I could buy a bottle of Grenache for my son’s graduation (Josh just became a doctor, we are so proud). We didn’t have any room to try the famous tiramisu, but we’ll no doubt be back! Molto bene Queen’s College!
Great service, these nice guys named Mario and Luigi brought me out the famous Pesto alla Genovese. It absolutely slapped. The bowl was a mini gondola. The owner Giovanni hooked me up with a cheese nuke of Parmesan which blew the soccer ball away from my feet. I found it cool how they don't communicate with words and merely hand gestures.
Heart warming. Authentic. Just wow. I had the traditional Tuscan dish; El Rollo La Chickeno. Flavour packed, super filling and rolled in front of my eyes. The large buildings reminded of the famous Italian film, Ratatouille! I may have spent a little extra on the wine pairing: the traditional Senata Estate Pinot Grigio but boy was it fruity. 7/7 would recommend. Mr Dunnett
Recently took my wife of 5 years here for an anniversary dinner!
First impressions, wow. A stunning and grandiose exterior facade, matched only by the beautiful Italian-style dining room, that really did make me feel like I was back at nonna's cottage in Abruzzo.
Staff were friendly and attentive to our every request, and most importantly put up with my terrible jokes! They even offered us a free set of wine pairings with each of our courses (My personal highlight: a Bowler's Run Shiraz 2018)
The heroes of the night were the Pollo Peperonata, simply divine, and the Panna Cotta, to die for! So full of flavour it was that we couldn't help but be a bit naughty and order a second serving!
No trip to Melbourne is complete without this authentic Italian dining experience, recommend bookings in advance to secure prime table locations!
Come live at Queens! There's tonnes of great facilities and people to meet. Just a stones throw away from Melbourne University this is the one of the closest places to the Parkville campus
Beautiful Italian food. Huge servings! Stick to the entree size as it's enough for 3 people! Ha! Their garlic bread is Devine! Staff are always friendly, even when I bring my 3 rat bag kids! Would recommend to the gals!
Has not been renovated in a long time. Culture is lacking but otherwise is in a great location.
A friend suggested Queen's to me. I was apprehensive at first. Hesitant. Nervous. The prestige; daunting. The reputation; overpowering.
Only one phrase wholly encapsulates this venue:
Carnsalada e fasoi - aromatized salt beef with beans.
The Italian cuisine at this restaurant belongs in Tuscani. Is it fair that food of such quality can be consumed without a 20hr flight? No. It is sinful.
Please, don't eat anywhere until you've eaten here.
