Quality Hotel Bentinck reviews
19Can’t fault this gorgeous hotel. It felt like I’ve travelled back in time. The management did well in maintaining the hotel well. Despite being heritage listed building (aka old) didn’t had any yucky moments in the room. Not a single hair in the bathroom and all facilities within the room are perfectly working fine. Bed sheets are in white which I loved the most. Bath had jets working too! Intercom and hair dryer intact. Total blockout when sleeping so you don’t get disturbed but can hear the heavy rev ups outside but not an issue. Love the dinette and large screen tv. Private parking at the back of the hotel for free. Bar and restaurant downstairs. Light continental breakfast included which needs to refill fast. Our room was overlooking the marina and walk to the shops and parks. Could also walk to the jetty for fishing. 12 min drive to Cape Nelson. Reception was very helpful and nice. Left my phone on the dining table at the restaurant and came back to me with no hassle. Booked for 2 rooms and refunded me the excess since the other room was smaller, couldn’t have known about it if the receptionist had not explained. All hotels should be like this and I have no hesitation recommending this place to friends.
Room was very small and out dated.
Coffee was fantastic, breakfast wasn't setup and service must had been limited
The rooms were really clean, and the continental breakfast was excellent. You could eat and drink as much as you wanted.
Very friendly service, beautiful room with excellent view. Alot of amenities, close by, walking distance to a beautiful beach
Quite special! Very spacious rooms, great food. Old heritage building in very convenient location. Special mention to Deb at Reception! Very helpful friendly service!
Quaint seaside hotel. If you love Fawlty Towers you will love this place! Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms very clean and spacious. Continental breakfast was a nice farewell as we headed onto SA.
I had salt and pepper squid with salad
The squid was quite plane but was good quality and texture just needed to ad down pepper and salt but the salad was amazing best salad I had, only down side a person I was with their food was a bit cold.
Great food and staff, room is meh, bathroom is meh, nice mirror though, with TV having Netflix, Stan and YouTube will be able to keep entertained at night if you don't have company. Over all 5 stars 3 for the room itself and the 2 extra for the food, staff and Portland itself
Great hotel, lots of original features of a bygone era. Best of all, great service, all staff 110% helpful and ready to modify process to make your stay comfortable. Fantastic.
Always well looked after here. Great friendly staff good food lovely clean rooms
Highly recommend
Great old hotel, food was great and staff were fantastic. Room was clean and well presented.
Will be going back again
Stayed at harbour view room. Nice room. I was charged extra for the view. But no harbour view. Clean room. Nice bed. Clean bathroom. Bathtub. Breakfast included but toast and fruits only. Can order hot Breakfast for extra charge.
I booked a room back in January thinking I was booking a room in the hotel, instead was given a room adjoining the hotel out the back a budget room. Yes it was worn and old but what I couldn't tolerate was the smell off body odour within the bed, pillow. After voicing my displeasure to the woman when I handed the key back to her, her attitude was rude and obnoxious. I would not recommend staying at this hotel as it is not all what it seems, needless to say I did not stay at this hotel. I had to than find other accommodation, just because it was a long weekend it does not justify you taking money for poor accommodation.
Lovely bluestone building overlooking Portland marina. Big refurbished rooms & delightful hosts. Fully recommend staying here.
Lovely large room overlooking harbour traditional furniture, they gave us a good price and friendly service at the bar down stairs, we would stay again for sure, I think they should have a grab rail in the shower as floor a bit slippery
Some sort of band playing very closeby- very loud and annoying until after midnight. If you wish for some peace and quiet and rest during your holiday to Portland you won’t get it staying here!
We were welcomed OK and it was joked there must be an occasion given we book the suite, "where the brides get ready". It was my Fiances birthday. The room was large with a lovely sea view and spa bath.
Unfortunately all that luxury is hard to enjoy when a band the very other-side of the wall to the bed (in the bar) played until 01: 00. We couldn't hold a conversation over the shear volume let alone sleep, we were not warned of this situation and were exhausted getting back on the road the next day with so little sleep.
On checkout the lady had asked if we were disturbed by the emergency services turning up after the band stopped playing, we were not, I said the band were playing loud until 01: 00am which is what disturbed us but she thought this was quite normal for them to play until that time so be warned!
I was very sorry to learn that the emergency services were in attendance following someone having a stroke at the hotel and I do sincerely wish them a speedy recovery.
Breakfast included in the price of the room does not include anything cooked which is extra, I thought this was a but sly. Th continental free breakfast was only a few slices of bread and croissants that had gone solid having not been refreshed.
All around, very disappointing.
Excellent service, I was seen to straight away, very friendly staff, the room was well kept and comfortable! Thank you heaps guys
Unfortunately not as it looked online. Nice enough place however the upkeep in not being maintained.
I couldn't work out why the carpet in my room (9) felt damp under foot? In the morning I could see why - it was filthy! (Photos don't do it justice).
Also the seat outside was covered in weeks of dust and leaves were inside the room from the accumulation outside the door. I couldn't stir my coffee as no tea spoon and of course could not sit on the chair without covering my backside in dust.
The water out if the tap was almost undrinkable due to the taste of chlorine, so I dived for the bottle of water in the room. To my surprised each bottle cost $350 - 2 were in the room. Pretty rich seeing the tap water is horrible. The local IGA got my business.
Overall I ended up very dissapointed, I had just come from Hamilton where I stayed at a brilliant motel which got 5 start as they got the basics spot on - Cheaper, clean, fresh, and two bottles of water complimentary and brilliant service!
Nothing from the "Quality" Hotel Bentinck accept a receipt. I Suggests to stay in the main building/Hotel instead.
Will not be coming back next time.
