Punthill Apartment Hotel Little Bourke reviews
84 I originally booked the room for 5 nights. Turns out, I checked out the second day morning as I could not stay any longer.
- The pictures on the website are different from the real room situation. The room is old, the carpet is unclean, and the bathroom is smelly.
- The public transport is very inconvenient. Only one bus stop walks 2mins away from the hotel. Plus the bus stop hides in the corner, it's quite tricky to find. If you want to take trams should walk 10mins to the closest stop.
- The Internet is bad. I couldn't connect to WiFi at all.
- The hotel is located in CBD Chinatown. The place is quite chaotic and unsafe. I can see the drinkers hanging around the street. It's very noisy at night. Around 12am, I heard people on the street clean the rubbish and glass bottles. I even heard teens speak very loudly and say bad words.
The customer service is good. Staffs are warm, kind, and helpful.
The hotel doesn't meet a 4-star hospitality requirement. It doesn't own the price I paid.
I don't recommend this hotel. If you are a solo traveller, especially a female, don't come to this place.
NOT GOOD BY ANY MEASURE!
I would seriously warn others to not stay here
I recently stayed here for a last minute trip to Melbourne and the stay honestly ruined my self care get away
Let me put it out there though, staff are friendly
Dated rooms, clothes tags from prior guest left in ward robe, dust and dirt throughout apartment, no daily housekeeping, no fresh towels even when I requested them, dirty dishes not checked or washed properly and the worst of it was having a stranger walk into my room as I was exiting the shower in my birthday suit as management checked them into my room instead of their own
No compensation, no real reasoning whatsoever, just “we’re sorry about that”
This is not a place I would ever return to or recommend anyone
This is gunna seem horrible but stay away
The PuntHill chain have a number of well located apartment hotels in Melbourne. The Little Bourke St location is excellent to access all the Theatres and top restraunts in Melbourne. The staff are excellent, friendly and happy to assist with all your needs, like airport transfers and local activity recommendations.
Will be back next time we visit Melbourne.
Had a great room, right in China town.
Walk outside and you are surrounded by great shopping access to trams great food and great entertainment venues Comfy bed and excellent service. I will be there again.
Will never return.
Room wasn't ready until 90 minutes after check-in time.
Carpets were filthy and damaged.
Couch was covered in dog hair.
Coffee pods weren't replenished.
There was a used toothbrush in the bathroom mirror cabinet! As well as a used tube of mascara.
Balcony was so dirty that it made your shoes/feet/paws completely black if you stepped out there.
Even if this was a budget apartment, I felt like I overpaid for what I got.
Service was fine, location is good though the rooms are not 4 star. My room was old and the carpet was worn aswell as being water damaged in the bedroom. The dresser beside the external wall was water damaged, clearly the water entered the room. Furthermore the room smelt of mould when I first entered.
The room had literally everything that we needed for the stay, Kitchenette, laundry with laundry powders, free Wi-Fi, a bathtub, comfy bed, complimentary Nespresso Machine for the morning fix, good room service and hotel staff. Just a bit noisy sometimes, but didn’t bother us too much. The accommodation was also right in the middle of MEL CBD china town which made it easier to navigate, catch public transport and access to a wide variety of food! Highly recommend
A shame about the facilities and booking service at this hotel.
They took my money at the time of booking despite my booking being a "pay on arrival" online, and they then refused to offer a refund or cancel the booking.
So I had no option but to use the booking with hopes of a better experience, but alas, the turn-down service failed to do anything on day 2, the shower recess being far too small with water splattering everywhere and the "full size fridge" being half the size and freezing everything regardless of the temp of the thermostat.
The location is somewhat painful on arrival with a hire car, but the reception service was always helpful.
Won't be back.
Tuck within Chinatown, very accessible and convenient living in a self-contained apartment at the heart of CBD.
The hotel is outdated and the furniture needs to be upgraded (especially the sofa). Since this place is located in chinatown, it is easy for walking around the CBD but it is extremely noisy at night with drunk people shouting and laughing (be careful if you are having difficulty getting to sleep). Potential but outdated
Same excellence every time.everything you need.sitting here breathing a sigh of relief.nespresso.gas stove.washer dryer.there's even a small balcony with an ashtray that i always attempt to exit with the butts from.
We were in Melbourne to attend a wedding and stayed here because it was close to the ceremony and reception. We originally booked a two night stay but we were able to arrive a day earlier to have a 3 night stay and the reception staff were very helpful with organising that for us. The room was perfect for our weekend getaway and even though the apartments are in the CBD, the noise level was not too noticeable. It was great to park the car and walk everywhere too! We would definitely stay here again.
Hotel is in the heart of china town and has easy access to the city. The reception staff are very helpful. Had to ask for fresh towels numerous times. There was no shower curtain or provision for one so every thing gets wet. The bathroom door wouldn't close fully as door and surrounding had swollen due to all the water. Not a relaxing place to stay.
Great adjoining rooms for family outings. Perfect location for attending theatres. Lots of eateries and bottle shop nearby. Right in China Town. Staff were very pleasant.
I had a excellent stay here. The rooms were spacious and clean and had all necessary iteams to make my stay there easy.
The staffs were very friendly, specially Ms. Nora who showed great care to us from the start and through our stay there.
Would highly recommend.
Terrible experience. Not a 4 star hotel - dated, unclean, in desperate need of a refurbishment and a deep clean. Furthermore the location meant the street noise was loud- I was unable to sleep most of the night. Unpleasant experience, would avoid. Photos look about 5+ years old
To be fair staff were OK but our room for 3 weeks was less than average for the money we spent. Had to buy exit mold to clean the bathroom.had to ask everyday for towels.coffee and sugar. Hubby cleaned the windows and also had to ask for a vacuum. Would not recommend it
We stayed here for 3 nights. Very accomodating as we arrived early in morning, let us in as room was avaiable. Room was comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. A little outdated but fine for us. Well located.
I had a strange experience here, when we got to our room there were clothes in the dryer. After unpacking ect. We went to dinner upon our return the clothes were gone. So someone had been in there. Upon further inspection we found the fridge hadn't been restocked and still had someone's drinks in there. Makes me wonder about the rest of the cleaning between guests.
Not terrible but not great.
Edit: so I saw the hotel replied and non of it is correct. We arrived at 5pm and the plain tonic water isn't anyone's first choice of refreshment is it?
I was given two rooms at this hotel. The first was a studio room that had a ball of hair on the bathroom floor, burnt food on the stove, a leaking sink, sticky gunge on the desk, and dust everywhere. When I complained, reception moved me to a second room that was infested with black mould and had streaks of what looked like vomit on the bedroom wall. By the time I realised the diabolical state of the room, reception had closed. I had to lug my heavy suitcase down an alleyway at 10: 30pm at night and move to another hotel because the room was not fit for human habitation. I received a refund when the manager saw the photos and inspected the room himself but this took days to process.
